Typical huge corporation not worrying about the details. Took 6 weeks to respond to a request and then their response was basically oh well When my overpriced lease is over I will definitely be moving on certainly not recommended!Tricon Residential

My boyfriend has lived in a Tricon-owned home for 3 years now. Last time he renewed his lease, there was in increase in rent, which is expected. However, they did not add this increase to his monthly charges for the first 7 months after his renewed lease started, and the portal would not allow him to pay more than it said was due for the month. Out of nowhere, he gets a notice saying he owes around $700 with no explanation or warning. Follow up letters stated he would be evicted if he did not pay this amount within a 3 day notice. No one felt the need to call or email back after hours of being tossed around on the phone. I finally got in touch with someone in some sort of management position and convinced them this was not an ethical business practice and they removed the charge from his account. Hes been charged properly since. This month, he received a letter in the mail stating he had 3 days to move out as he was being evicted. The letter was sent to him on the same day he paid rent in full. He was also assessed a $50 filing fee for this eviction notice. He called customer service and theyre stating it was a mistake. So he spent his entire holiday weekend making backup plans in case he was truly being evicted and hes out $50 because of this mistake. Highly unethical and ridiculous business practices. Hes vowed to never rent from Tricon again. Ill also be watching out and making sure to avoid Tricon residences.Tricon Residential

If I could give 0 stars I would . No one contacts you back and Ive only been renting for a month . They changed my lease date the day I was packed and ready to move in I had to get hotels for 3 days because they wouldnt accommodate me . Now that Im trying to get my account credited ** getting no response! This is ridiculous! Never renting with them ever again !Tricon Residential

Do not rent here!We have had a plethora is maintenance issues within 20 months, due to property care negligence and none of which have been treated with any sense of urgency from anyone who works for Tricon. We have collectively gone without water this month for close to half the month, and we cannot get any response via phone, e-mail, text within the past 7 days, we were promised we would be reimbursed for food from the first septic incident from going without being able to use our utilities due to a backed up septic issue, and we are still without compensation.Now, we are the second water issue this month, day four without water, and without being able to use the bathroom, shower, utilities. Paying nearly ***** a month, and we dont even have access to water. Absolutely unacceptable, and utterly despicable to treat tenants this way.Tricon Residential

I have been leasing a property with Tricon for less than 60 days and it has been nothing but trouble since I moved in. When I submitted my deposit via their online portal I was charged twice!! They REFUSED to immediately refund my money for this overcharge; even though it was very apparent on my end and theirs. Their solution was to credit my account, yet this isnt what I, the customer requested. MULTIPLE calls had to be made and it was a long unnecessary process. Adhere to the customers request, thats what customer service consists of. NEXT, keep in mind Ive only been here less than 60 days, roughly 45days. The over the range microwave that came in the home stopped working. This was reported through the Tricon app to the maintenance department on 12/13/22, no response was ever received confirming an appointment for the repair. I contacted Tricon via the 844 number only to be told that the microwave that comes with the home that Im paying for monthly would NOT be assessed by a technician until 12/29, YES you read correctly 13 days AFTER being reported in a newly leased home. This is what Tricon refers to as Superior customer service? Id like to see worse I contact ***, who was supposedly assigned to me as a liaison to contact with issues within the home during the first 30 days, yes its over that timeframe, but no worries no assistance was received from him. I fully comprehend the microwave may not be considered an essential appliance like the heat or air conditioning; however its an important appliance that I utilize daily frequently multiple times per day. Not to mention I had holiday guests visiting so I cant reiterate how much of an inconvenience this has been. Now if I wasnt able to pay for living here for 13 days, would Tricon be understanding or could I anticipate my phone ringing nonstop along with the receipt of eviction orders to vacate?!! But its fine for them not to repair issues within the home, NO it really isnt. Find another propertyTricon Residential

Called in a emergcy maintenance request, inside wall pipe busted due cold weather, Called them at 3pm, someone should be calling you back, it's 10pm no call back, no response. I have family coming in for the holidays, I have no running water, damage to my things in my ********** have to add a star, but if I could, would not. Tricon Residential is by FAR the best company I have ever rented from. This is not a paid post or a post with any incentive. I have been renting from them for 2 years. First thing! They only accept 1 application and holding deposit at a time, unlike all the other places renting that take in HUNDREDS! They are not holding properties to scam people for extra money. So if you dont qualify, they accept the next person. Next! My house needed work done before I moved in, the lady I talked to said she wanted to make sure it was in best shape possible for me and my son, she wouldnt put anyone into a home that she wouldnt put her own daughter in. So I move in, the house is AMAZING! All new appliances, new flooring, paint, everything! Its gorgeous! Then, a month after I move in, they call me just to see how everything is going and if I need anything! ?? Everything was great! So moving forward to renewing my lease, I am hearing from people everywhere that rent is going up ******* dollars, they are pushing people out and making people homeless. I was terrified! I was sure I wouldnt be able to afford to renew, BUT! Tricon only raised my rent *****! I cant even begin to explain what a blessing it was! This last year I have had a few things go wrong in my home, the garage door stopped working, they sent someone out within a day and replaced the WHOLE garage door system! My garbage disposal stopped working, again, were here in a day or two and replaced it! I noticed some roof damage, called them, the roofing literally came out and called me in a day and are here right now and are replacing the WHOLE roof!! Which is what prompted me to write this! Just when I think this company couldnt impress me more, they top it! I cant tell you how many people I have recommended Tricon to all over the country! This really is the best rental company I have ever worked with and I intend on only renting from them until I buy a home.Tricon Residential

This has been the worst renting experience that Ive had so far. The management team is so unresponsive, especially when it comes to their mistakes. We received an eviction notice after we had already moved out, signed, provided our forwarding address and returned our Notice to Vacate well before the 45 day notice, and they said they didnt know we moved out which makes no sense. We moved out over a month and a half ago, and they withheld our deposit from us. We still do not have it, even after contacting them multiple times as well as providing our forwarding address multiple times. The property manager in the ************ area is absolutely horrible and they will give you the run around for your money back. Note: we only lived in the house for 1 year, and we had the house professionally cleaned and they still have taken almost 60 days to return the deposit even though they only have 30 days to inspect the house and return our deposit.Tricon Residential

I will not be renewing my lease with this company, or renting from them ever again. We have been without heat **for over a month**, during the winter months of November and December. Tricon scheduled multiple people over multiple weeks, some not getting back to us for 2 weeks. Every person had something different to say about why the **** wasn't working. We have had to heat an entire home with space heaters, which we feel unsafe using. Our housing electrical did not trip the breaker when our space heater was pulling too much from the socket. It melted the socket and also fried the outlet next to it. Our housing electrical has been spliced by multiple people who don't communicate between jobs. We have a fireplace but it has been stuffed with insulation since move-in last year, and we are waiting on a 4-6 week wait time for a replacement. The chimney is literally leaning and would start a fire if we tried to use it. Obviously no one inspected that before move-in.We also experienced a huge leak in the yard of this Tricon property. I filed an emergency maintenance request the morning we discovered the leak, when the town turned off the water and left a notice on our door. It took Tricon 24 hours to come back to get our water turned back on and the leak resolved. Our water bills were high for months after because of the ****** gallons we were charged for and did not use. Tricon only paid for the bill of the month we reported the leak in, and did not offer to pay for any of the higher bills (I'm talking $100-200 higher than our usual bill.) I'm honestly surprised they even paid for it, and it took a month to get that completely resolved. Renting with Tricon has caused me and my roommates immense stress and frustration. This house was sold for cheap, renovated cheaply, and leases for an ungodly amount. I agree with the other reviews here: Tricon preys on low-income people. Do NOT rent from Tricon. And Tricon, don't respond to this. I don't want to hear it.Tricon Residential

I wish there was zero stars. Trying to steal my home. I have been in the middle of a divorce, paying my rent, and putting my life back together, after being a stay at home dad. ******************************************* a supposed "retention specialist' won't answer. Passes down the buck. I'm told I have to retain a lawyer. I've lived in this home with my children and wife for 10 years (she left 4 months back). After all of this I get ahold of them week after week. I received different answers from every employee I've spoken to. Now, I call and they tell me to get a lawyer. my suspicion tells me they gave me the run around because my area has boomed and since I've been here so long, I am not paying what the area is worth. I was told first I needed to prove income, then I didn't need to prove income. Then that they would send the renewal paperwork for a reasonable increase, it never came. I wait a week and call back. Now it's get a lawyer. We are sending you a non-renewal. "THIS COMPANY HAS BECOME SHADY!" I was there when it first began friends with the co-creator of the company EG till he moved to *******. I'll tell ya he would not agree with this treatment. Go somewhere else! They don't care a bit about to put a my handicapped mother and 9 and 7 year old on the streets to line their pockets with a few more bucks.Tricon Residential
