On June 5th I parked in a parking lot in *******. This parking lot was unmarked and the spot did not indicate that you needed to pay to park there. It was beside a restaurant, so I assumed it was the restaurant's parking lot. I received a notice in the mail last week for a $90 parking ticket from this company that is in ********. I believe this is fraudulent because:-$90 is an extreme amount for a parking ticket -The business is in ******** collecting money for a parking ticket in *******, ** -The pictures on the notice in the mail are very blurry -The notice came in the mail 3 weeks after the "date of notice" of June 18th - which conflicts with the event date of June 5th.Business Response

Unfortunately, this is a pay to park lot and there are signs at the entry and the exit that state this. There are also payment signs that show you to pay through the ** code or a text to park with your phone. This is a valid notice since there was no payment made and remains upheld. We will offer a settlement of $70.00 to close this out. If you would like to discuss further, you can call ************ and speak to a representative.Initial Complaint

I parked at this parking lot and used the ** code that was on the sign that said to pay. I tried several times with two different cards to pay for parking and got an error each time. Since it was a holiday weekend, my conclusion was that the rules had been suspended for parking and went to do the thing I was downtown for. Then 2 months later I receive this notice that I owe $90 for 1hr and 2min of parking time. I don't believe I should be charged anything as your system was not in use and there was no way for me to pay. I would have taken screenshots of this, but genuinely thought I didn't have to pay. I have reached out and filed a dispute and have heard nothing back except a confirmation email that my complaint was received.Business Response

My wife parked in the parking lot on ******************************* on 05/07/25 and paid on her phone and got charged $25.95. I get a letter in the mail saying I have a $92 debt in collections for unauthorized parking, the parking was paid for on the same day and this debt is not valid. Debt needs to be removed from collections immediately and marked as paid.Business Response

On 06/01 I paid $23 for parking, the parking I paid for was supposed to last until 3 am, I left at 11 pm. I left well before my time was up. I received a notice from Parking Revenue Recovery Services that I hadn't paid and now owed them $97. I responded with proof (bank statement) that I had paid for parking on the day in question. I was then told that my $97 amount would be reduced to $77, "as a courtesy." I already paid from the beginning. I did not violate any rules, I input my license plate correctly and I did not overstay my time. There is no reason for me to pay anything. I would the business to stop contacting me and remove this unfounded charge from their records.Business Response

Since you paid through the ** code with ParkMobile, we need to see the parkmobile receipt and not a bank statement. This will show the parking session details including plate number, in and out time and location. Please submit that here and we can take a closer look at it.Initial Complaint

We parked at *********************** on 4/5/2025 at the **********************. We paid $15.54 to park. On 6/12/2025 we were sent a notice that we failed to pay to park and owed $102. We provided the receipt from LAZ parking and our credit card statement and were told the receipt was invalid because it did not include our license plate. When we pointed out that *** provides the receipt and not us, we were told that our payment was still invalid because we entered the facility at 2:09 PM (and exited at 4:26 PM) but only paid for 2:40-4:40 PM. **** intentionally does not allow you to pay until youve parked (requiring you to download a specific phone app to pay) but then states your payment is invalid since you entered at a time earlier than you paid. The *********************** is a busy, multi-level parking garage (particularly on an weekend) and it took us a while to find a place to park and download the app. Requiring you to pay retroactively when there is no way to do so is a highly malicious business practice in this case targeting visitors to a childrens museum. Scanning your license plate upon entering but not allowing you to pay at this retroactive time (or even telling you when you entered) is the basis of PRRS business module and it is fraudulent.Business Response

Parked in the lot that had previously been free in *********. Received a notice for $92 for failure to pay did not see any signage or noting that it was a paid lot. The hourly rate is five dollars per hour. The penalty for nonpayment is 19 times that Which is clearly gouging.Business Response
Date: 07/03/2025
Unfortunately, this is a pay to park lot and there is no free parking at any time. This is a valid notice due to your vehicle being on the lot for 2 hours and 28 minutes without paying for parking. We see that you have paid so we have closed this out as paid in full and there will not be a refund issued.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because again, this is gouging. There is not adequate signage. The rate vs. penalty amount are astronomical. We were unaware this was now a pay lot and think this amount and fee is absurd. Its been paid but I would like a refund of at least the excessive amount ($5/hr X 3 hours is $15you charged $92)
Sincerely,
***** ******Business Response

It actually states on the signs if there is a violation you could be subject to charges up to $250.00 and this is well under that. This is valid.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:the signs are not clearly visible. So if I ***** see the sign to pay the parking fee, you think I saw that the fee was up to $250?! Your responses and claims are ridiculous. You know its gouging.
Also, your customer service is abysmal, both in this interaction and on the phone. Waited 34 minutes to speak to someone, Im assuming you get a lot of calls regarding this exact matter, and the rep ***** like me asking him to let me speak so he hung up on me. Less than a minute of interaction. Is this the reputation you want for your company? Or do you care only about ripping people off?
Sincerely,

Notice Number: PWRRDU-****** , PWRRDU-****** I was told to submit this complaint from a good friend of mine at the ***************************. He suggested before I take any legal actions that I try to persuade the company to dismiss this. Given Im assuming theyd like to avoid court and court costs. I told him the situation and how these notices were given to me later than they shouldve been. Both notices are charged way over the limit for the parking violation I was told I committed. Nor were the signs they claimed were there; were there at the time of me parking there. Not to mention the signs that are there are very misleading and could cause anyone to mistakenly park there. I did reach out to this business over email as they stated and they replied with a reduced fine but only if it could be paid within 10 days. If not it would remain the same fine price. That in itself showed me that this company cares not about the parking violation but more so how much they can make off of anyone who makes a minor mistake. My courthouse friend is not the only contact I have. Trust me when I say I have friends in high places. I mean it and will do whatever it takes to make companies like these pay for their mistreatment and greed. So I ask this business one last time to go ahead and dismiss both my claims before this gets worse for them.Business Response

On this lot you have 10 minutes to pay for parking upon entering the lot as there is no free parking at any time. We have attached signs as we have before for you to see that there is no free parking and also to show you the payment signs to pay through. Both of these notices are valid as you were there over 20 minutes each time without paying for parking. On 5/22/25 you were there 23 minutes and on 6/1/25 you were there 26 minutes. This is the flat rate penalty fee that is assessed for this violation regardless of the time you are on the lot without paying. These are upheld and won't be dismissed.Customer Answer

On 6/11/25, I parked in the parking lot at ********************, and tried to pay at the app and kiosk but both were not working. I called the phone number posted in the parking of ************, left a message and a gentleman called **** e-mailed me and told me to e-mail him at ********************************* I tried to e-mail him to give him my credit card number to pay the $11 daily rate over the phone. The e-mail bounced back because of their e-mail system recognizes and will not accept e-mails with credit card numbers so I called ************ again and asked him to call me back. He called back and said that he could not take a payment over the phone, that the lot was changing to a new system over the next week and that I would not be cited. The app and payment not only were down that week but were down the following week (like he stated) when I parked and unsuccessfully attempted to pay each day on 6/13, 6/17 - 6/20. I didn't worry based upon what he told me on 6/11/25.Then I received 5 notices (LAZDEN-224081, LAZDEN-******, LAZDEN-******, LAZDEN-******, and LAZDEN- ****** in the mail from PRRS (Parking Revenue Recovery Services) Parking with fines of $102 each, totaling $510 (vs. the $55 for the unpaid five days). Note that the lot has a sign that says it is $175 for monthly parking. I tried to dispute the amount on their website and received e-mails to pay $82 each, totaling $410 on 6/30/25, asking for payment within 10 days (by 7/10/25?).Today, on 7/2/25, I found the e-mail address to **** and have asked if he can contact PRRS to explain our conversation and have the parking notices waived. I have tried to call ************ several times today and nobody answers. If BBS can pursue this as well, I would appreciate it. I am also contacting the Colorado Attorney General.Business Response

On 6/18/25 My daughter drove to ****** for a conference and parked in a parking lot. She paid for her car to be parked until 6pm. She left the parking lot at what they say was 6:16pm and she received a "Notice of Non-Compliance" in the mail for $97. I have done enough reading online to learn that this is a savage practice. Making people "guess" what time they will be back to their car, knowing full well that some will not be exact. So if you are a minute over you get fined $97? If this is not illegal, it should be. The way their parking payment system is set up is clearly to scam innocent people, including my 17 year old daughter. This should NOT be allowed.Business Response
Date: 07/03/2025
You did pay for parking but not for the full time on the lot. This is a violation of the lot and this is why you received the parking notice. This is a flat rate penalty fee that is assessed regardless of the amount of time you are over the paid parking session. This is valid and upheld, but we can offer a one-time settlement of $77.00 to close this out. If you would like to discuss this further, you can call ************ to speak to a representative.
