  I have a perspective that most don't. I worked for the company. I can agree that the comments here are valid and 99% accurate. That's the sad part. The whole application process is so easy to commit fraud, the hacking potential is unmatched. The interest rates are high because they never ask about the students finances during the application, only the cosigner. Then the cosigner leaves the student to figure it out on their own and wonder why payments are $500-$1500 per MONTH. These kids are starving to pay them instead. If you go passed due on your payment they will call 4x per phone number, per person, per day. Upwards of 8 calls minimum daily. Choose wisely, is all I can say.

  The RATING is a ZERO!!!!! The worst ever customer service and customer care. They are terrible. How does anyone understand all their crap bullshit when they will not provide anything in writing when you call them - told it is a verbal agreement. So what, they can then just make whatever claims they want and change rates and payments to whatever they please. This is crap. Cannot talk to anyone that knows anything. They call 10 times a day, send me at least 2-4 emails per day, and then mail me letters at least 3 -4 times a week also. We are making payments. How is this NOT harassment. Come on BBB, do something about this company. They are robbing the next generation of any financial freedoms due to their high interest rates and unrealistic repayment options. And, they have you trapped inside of their web and they know it and they love it. Cannot believe this is continuing to be allowed to happen. No one should be do financially restrained to get an education.

  Absolute and utter bullshit borrowing system. They have increased my loan exponentially from when I took it out in 2020 when I have been making payments. Do NOT use them. Do NOT try to even talk to them about your loan. Agents close the chat and don't answer your questions directly. They fuck around and then close out when you get upset and tell them they're being unprofessional. Go to your bank and take out a personal loan to pay them off and be done with their shit.
  
  After 12 months of making 200-250 payments my 5,000 loan should have been almost cut in half but it's now above 5,200. Fuck this business and their predatory 'services'.

  The biggest scam - they give ridiculous interest rates to young adults knowing majority of them cannot afford to pay them back. The offer NO help in repayment options. Do not go with them

  This company granted a student loan to a random person who used my information to open his son's student loan without my consent. It's called identity theft. When I found out about it I contacted them and they didn't care. They said that I still was responsible for the loan.. This is a fraud by Sallie Mae and the person who opened the account Aminder Sandhu and the son Maxwell Sandhu ????

  The private lender is Sallie Mae. There are no creditors. I am in great standing. I have paid my fees always on time actually, a year in advance. However, the organisation has increased my fees now that I have graduated.
  
  I called on 01/03/2022 to make a credit card payment of $2,000
  My due date is 01/04/2022.
  Sallie Mae rep stated she could not take the payment
  Sallie Mae stated that I will have to make a late payment if I use a credit card
  Sallie Mae rep stated I will have to call on 01/09/2022
  I told the rep I have never been late in making my payments
  I asked her again to take the credit card payment she declined
  Again, I was always in good standing always made payments a year or month ahead.
  I advised the rep that if I made a payment on 01/09/2022, I will be recorded as being late .
  No comment made by the rep except that if I made a payment by 01/09/2022, the balance
  would not go to collections.
  
  Current issue & Past issues:
  
  I called Sallie Mae asking for a one month or couple weeks forbearance until I start my new job
  Sallie Mae reps stated I have no options
  Sallie Mae has threatened to call my co-signer. I get a sense of psychological intimidation (e., g commission pressure)
  Sallie Mae reps were not consistent in offering me options.
  Sallie Mae Reps & Manager would not answer my questions or discuss the principal amount $130,000 which is now $197,000 + in 2,000 interests
  I have documented most of my conversations. I have recorded TWO Sallie Mae whistle-blowers telling me the truth of the financial trap I have put myself into.
  I have to pay by next Monday $2,000, or they will call and harass my co-singer .
  When I signed up to the loan, it was understood that I was signing up with Sallie Mae not realising this was Navient.
  When I signed up to the loan, it was made clear to me that if I made interest payments, my fees should not be affected
  This was false information that was provided by the lender when applying.

  Sallie Mae may be a prestigious company in their eyes the way they present themselves to help one be able to afford to pay month to month especially a student that graduated from college. One minute they tell you they have programs to help you bring you payment down next minute they turn around and say no programs are available at this time. They tell you that each month the payment is increased because it is a variable month to month. If I pay 300 this month next month I am paying over 300 then the following month I am paying close to 400. How is this helping anyone especially to afford the payment as well as keep it in good standing. They are constantly calling harassing indicating if you don't call them back they will send you to collection agency....at least the collection agency will work with you to afford a monthly payment yet its a strike on your credit report for some years. They are not honesty they are not transparent and absolutely not very kind when one is frustrated and trying to figure out how to bring the payment down - they begin to talk about themselves that they are only human and can't get their stuff together before answering one's questions. This is the worst private loan company ever. Why are they in business? Who came up with interest going up month to month so that is why your payment goes up each month. How is this helping anyone especially when they ask about your personal expenses to see if they can help bring the payment down yet turn around and say sorry no programs available. Seriously, I released my personal information about my month to month expenses (rent, utilities etc.). They should be ashamed of themselves I will never recommend them to anyone who needs a loan to finish college or even start college because they won't help plus they won't do deferment like other loan services when you are in a financial situation. Never again with Sallie Mae but I'm stuck until I finish paying off my student loan.

  The absolute WORST customer experience, I have been lied to, racially profiled, not helped! One representative says one thing then another says another, no one is honest & actually wants to help. I was told I am inapplicable (very much slow) for the School Deferment program when I have been enrolled in school since 2022. The very first representatives stated well call back in when you have the $80, so we can place you on the Forbearance program because "suddenly they weren't able to see me registered.... I got registered today for a completely different semester, called back to have my deferment applied, incompetent had to be rep, talking about I was inapplicable for the program. So, I called back okay cool, I made a minimum payment now suddenly No Forbearance program existents. Just racist liars, and I will be filing suit because this is regardless. If I could leave no stars definitely would because no stars from me.
