  Every time I talk to them their company feels like a scam. They won't let me cancel my auto debit, or alter it without at least 2 months notice. Their website never lets me log in unless I'm in an incognito browser. I'm not sure if their company is just trash, or if the person who made their website just doesn't know how to code. But it makes me deeply uneasy that they have my personal information.

  If you can go somewhere else do it 100% I've been making monthly payments while still in college and my loan amount is going up. I haven't even been paying off the interest let alone the principal, and the interest I'm getting charged has increased with every payment. This is criminal

  I do not recommend Sallie Mae at all! They are just money hungry and do not care about their customers. I even filed a complaint for them on the BBB website and they called me and they still did not resolve my issue. They just kept telling me there was NOTHING they could do. Please if you are in college stay away from Sallie Mae. It is almost impossible to get out of debt with them.

  Horrible company, customer service does not know what they are talking about. I called them 5 times to ask if I needed to make a payment while I was in school, every time I called they told me that I did not need to make a payment and they were clearing it up on their end. Sixth time I called, all of a sudden, I do need to make a payment, plus the late fees that they tacked on while they were telling me no payment was needed. And then, on top of that, the customer service lady claimed that the first person I talked to told me I “did” have to make a payment. A COMPLETE lie. I am disgusted by them. I made the payment in full (including late fees) that day. I would’ve paid on time every month, had they had the correct training and knowledge to properly check my loan status. Incompetent and unprofessional. I have since paid the loan off in full to avoid any further business with them. They have predatory loans, my interest rate with a co-signer was 16.25%. Sallie Mae is an awful and distrustful company. I would never do business with them again. And I will steer any student I know away from them.

  The money comes automatically out my bank account every month and they are saying it's late and charging me a late fee. They call and harass me 20 times a day and call me late. I spoke to the lady and told her my bank statements show you are getting the money each month. I asked her does she not see the dates each month as I read the dates they received payment and she said yes we got them. They are getting the payment each month and charging me late fees and harassing me about money they are receiving. They won't move the late fee either. I have no control when they receive the money from my bank that's on their end. This is FRAUD.

  DO NOT LOAN FROM THIS COMPANY!!! 1 star is generous. This company is the devil. I was approved for a $10,000 loan. After months of paying on this loan the amount due has only gone down $100. I called to get my payment history, and they tell you they can only give you 3 months of payment history??? DO NOT EVER GET A LOAN FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY. They take advantage of everyone. They, supposedly, don’t have higher ups to speak to. This company needs to be shut down.

  Sallie mae is trash! I was trying to do the rate reduction program. I called on Tuesday got accepted agreed to the monthly payments and set up autopay. Friday rolls around I check my email and all of my payments were cancelled because I couldnt re enroll in the rate reduction program anymore. After two times thats all you get. So im expected to pay over 700 dollars on top of other living expenses?? so honestly they can kiss my ass and let the account charge off im over it. Because why did the system allow them to enroll me in the program then three days later renege ? That sounds like a system issue and thats not my problem.

  After years & years of predatory emails, calls, and mail, I caved during my summer semester and took out a loan from these vultures. Now I am in grad school and they do not recognize that and continue to harass me several times a day. If this were a single person, I would get a restraining order! I cannot wait until the next class action against this "company!" This company should be out of business.

  A heartless predatory lending company. My wife took out one student loan in 2018 an amount around $25k. She took this loan before we got married about 3 years ago when I was in the service. I was injured on active duty and am now 100% disabled. They refuse to adjust her loan because it’s not “in my name”. Disgusting.

  This place is nothing but a money-hungry SCAM! They do not care about children furthering their education. They literally make it impossible to ever get out of debt. I requested to co-sign on a loan for my child who is a freshman in college. That hard credit check dropped my credit score by over 100 points. We requested $26,000 for just this school year. In the end, after making the MINIMUM payment of $760 a month, she would have eventually paid off this loan at $108,000! So you mean to tell me that just 1 year of college (getting her basics) will cost $108,000?! That is half the cost of a mortgage in some states! They charge almost $20,000 a year just in interest! That is darn near the original amount of the loan we asked for. Where do they get off placing young kids in that drowning amount of debt?! That is what I call financially abusive and destructive to the American people and economy.
