      Im filing this complaint in hopes that others may see this and think twice before dealing with this company. I was in a car accident on April 20th, 2023. I was hit by a shuttle bus who ran a red light. My car was badly damaged. It was finally fixed September 2023. I paid out of pocket for part of ny rental. I say this because every time I had an issue, I reached out to my case manager or lawyer. I was not kept in the loop, it was always me reaching out and sometimes I would have to go through customer relations just to get a call back. In November I was given an offer which was low, I declined it. I was told I would get a call once that was done but they again failed to update me. A couple weeks later a new case manager reached out and he seemed helpful. He gave me the new offer and pretty much told me that it was the best deal I would get. I didnt accept immediately but sent an email the following day to *********************************** He replied with a short email and a laughing emoji which was disrespectful. I didnt see what part of any of my case was amusing. From there I was sent a document through DocuSign which wasnt even explained to me, then I was sent a closing statement the amount I was receiving was far less than half of the amount I accepted, most of the money was going to medical fees and lawyer fees. When I accepted the offer *********************** said hed negotiate my medical expenses to half the cost. The original statement didnt say that, so I didnt sign it. It took me calling customer relations to get a call back. Due to the holiday, I didnt receive the corrected statement until earlier this week. Im still waiting of my check which I was told I could pick up but I havent been told when I can go get it. After dealing with an accident, then dealing with a company that really could care less was disheartening. My original case manager was *************************** and my lawyer was Mr. *********************************

      I received a settlement for an accident in July 2023. I was advised that the firm would keep $200 from the settlement for 90 days for any medical bills that *** have been unpaid. I called my case manager ******************************* and my assigned attorney ******************************* in October to find out when I would be receiving the $200, but was not able to speak with them. I left nmeros voice messages and I also sent emails. In November I called again, I was transferred to the Client experience team and was conected with ********. She assired me she would look into the issue and call me back. On November 20th I called again, and once again was promise a callback within 48 hrs. On November 27, I called again and registered another complaint for not receiving a callback and for not receiving my $200. The first week of December I was advised by ******** that my check was being mailed out. On December 15, I received a check for $159.07 with an enclosed leter from tje attorney stating that they had deducted the difference for pone calls, photo copies and postage. I have tried again nmeros times to get an itemized statement from them and also feel that they took their percentage from tje inicial settlement. I had to call then over and over again to get my $200 and I don't believe that I should have been deducted any additional fees, unless they were of medical nature as advised initially. I want to receive a check for the difference in the amount of $40.93.This firm does not provide any assistance to clients once a settlement has been made. I definitely will not be using or recomending them in the future.Thank you,*************************

      I am rejecting this response because: This firm charged 33% of my settlement. This fee is for their services, I should not be charge after the fact for postage, copies and phone calls. My case was settlement in July 2023, and the supposed charges for these services are from August and October. I am requesting a refund in the amount of $40.93.
      Please note that I made numerous phone calls including their client experience department in order for them to release the $200 they had withheld. After I received the check I also called requesting an exlanation and my calls, emails and messages were all ignored, until I contacted the BBB. Attorney ******** sent me an email stating the $40.93 were for phone calls, photo copies and postage, but today he claimed I was not charged for any phone calls. Again there seems to be inconsistencies and I am requesting my refund.

I sincerely apologize for any confusion that *** have been caused by our communication with you in our attempts to address these concerns. I am a supervisor with our firm, and I looked into your case. I did see the amount taken out that you are attempting to be reimbursed for, however with a situation such as this, the cost deducted is cost associated with delayed expenses and charges that our firm paid on your behalf in order to get you the settlement amount we did. It does list on your closing statement that we reserve the right to deduct these outstanding delayed expenses and charges. 

      Unfortunately, this is a legally binding document and we came to a legal agreement reserving the right to deduct these costs from the remaining funds associated with settlement.

      I am rejecting this response because, their fees should have been included in the amount that they retained, (33%). I am aware of the document that I signed, but it was my understanding that any additional cost that would surface would be of medical nature, not for postage and copies. Making copies and sending documents should not be my financial responsibility. I also understand that going against a firm of your size is a loss for me. Please note that i am not accepting the charges that were charged after the case was settled. I still firmly believe these so called additional charges are not my responsibility and I should be refunded the amount you kept. 

      My experience with my assigned attorney and case manager were horrible, it took a complaint to the BBB to receive a response from them. I kindly ask one more time, please refund the fee you kept.

      I would like to clarify that the deduction in question was intended to cover the various fees and costs that our firm advanced to handle your case. To provide clarity on the matter, I have included a copy of your retainer agreement. In the first paragraph on page 2, it explicitly states that costs will be deducted from your share of the recovery after the contingent fee has been calculated. It also outlines the types of costs involved, such as investigator mileage, court filing fees, medical records charges, experts, mediation fees, and more. Additionally, it stipulates that you are only obligated to pay costs if there is a recovery in the claim.

      It is important to note that the payment in question was not intended as a direct payment to our firm but was utilized to cover the expenses and fees incurred during the handling of your case. Your agreement to cover such costs, as outlined in the retainer, is a standard practice in legal representation.

      Once again I knew I would not win against a large powerful firm who made ***** on my case. To charge   a client an additional $40 after the Client had to contact them numerous times in order to get the $200 they retained is completely not understandable. If there would have been medical charges I would have understood it, but for photocopies and postage. 

      Morgan and Morgan you keep the $40, it seems your firm is in more need of it than a small client.  However i will never recomend your firm to anyone and neither will any of my family and friends.

      I am not happy with the outcome, and this gesture proves that Morgan and Morgan does not stand behind their clients.

      On 10/4/22 after I was flooded out by Hurricane ******** was temporarily staying with ********************************* insured with ****************** who only had damaged floors. I missed a walk board and fell through his floor breaking T/5 and T/7 in my back. **************************** liability insurance had a limit of $100,000. My back was broken in 2 places!I never met Mr. *** in person and only saw him on my Zoom meeting in my deposition. My case was finalized on 5/31/23. I signed the settlement on that day. Mr. *** said they would hold out $2000 for any remaining medical bills that might come in for the next 90 days. I never received the check so called his office on July 6,2023 and they overnighted it on July 7, 2023 the check was issued on 6/9/23. The final check should have been issued in September 2023. I think I started in November emailing and calling where was my last check. I finally called the ************** office and they transferred me and Yalmara answered. I wasn't very nice! If their office had been in ******, **. I could have went and picked the check up or they could have delivered since they kept $40,000.She overnighted the check and it was dated 11/30/23! Out of the $2000 they deducted for medical records research from *************************. I knew I I had Not signed a release! The record retrievel told me records were requested 3 times. October 2022, December21, 2022 and January 5, 2023. In order to request my medical records I would have to given Mr. *** office a fresh signature not a computer generated one! Maybe it was assumed and an oversight to check to see if I ever mail it back. This is a HIPAA Law! I told them I would never sign because I was charged before in a law suit.I was also charged postage for the overnight delivery of my first check and other postage! I have 2 letters and 1 email asking me to sign and mail back. Dated 10/18/22, 2/13/23 and 2/28/23.I would like the check to be reissued in the amount of $2000 . I'm sure this was an oversight

      Me and my daughter was treated so bad I wanted to cry but I knew God knows bets if you have a SA, or a premises liability case this is not the lawfirm for you, they took my case then months later got in contact with the attorney generals office allowed them lie and state that my child already had a forensic interview which was false they didnt even try to verify and called to let me know they can no longer take my case luckily i spoke with the attorney general they were able to actually set me up an interview and i was also able to find a great attorney that deals with high profile cases so many families are suffering due to this case and they treated us so bad were already hurting im so thankful that it turned out this way :) I found a better office to handle this please find you another attorney they dont give a **** about you if you have an accident use them better yet search action *******, especially Goodlaw they are great with vehicle accidents I love themo anything else premise liablility assult anything else find someone else i usually dont do reviews but i know how much i rely on them i felt like it was my due diligence to do so this time hope this helps get you a lawfirm that cares!

      I signed up some time back to see if morgan and morgan could take a look. after finding i didnt have a case i thought its over but i keep getting voicemails after voicemail and i call the number back and tell them stop calling my number but they dont stop. all they do is keep calling leaving voicemails with their automated dialer. They have been told 12 times to stop calling my number.

      I used these lawyers when I was hit by a car. At first they were good but they still have$800 that I'm sure now for over a year. I tried contacting them and was blocked from my agent ****************** both on the phone and by email. I want my $800 back

      I hired Morgan and Morgan Dec 25th 2022 Foe a slip and fall in my back yard. It is against ************ My problem is i have repeadly called them asking for an update on my case and no calls. I also had an appointment over the phone with the attorny and No phone call. I want them to call me and help me out with the case. Giving me an update to where the case stands. And for the Attorny to full fill their obligation for the case and my phone call appointment they missed. I have delt with other law firms from prior cases and never had this kinda problem.       My complaint is similar to the one on 12/07/23. In August of2022 my case was settled and I received part of the settlement minus the lein holdback amount of almost *********. I understand the holdback part but it is now ******************************************************************* I have tried emailing and calling them at the customer complaint department for the past few weeks to check on why I havent received my money and as of yet havent received any response. I spoke with the paralegal assigned to me, *************************, which has been very helpful throughout the process and to me has been very good about keeping me informed. I understand she can only tell me what she knows but the last time we corresponded, my case was given to the disbursement department for payment and that is where I am left with no response on when I will receive the rest of whats owed to me. I understand it takes time for things but ***********************************************************************************this is one of the things, if I knew then what I know now I would have done things differently. Buyer beware. Bigger is not always better.

      I am rejecting this response because:   The response from Morgan &Morgan must be for someone else. My name is not ***** for one and my case was originally settled in August 2022. I received a settlement where $18,875.00 was held out for lein. Here it is 16 months later and I have not received any of it. I was told a month ago that it was turned over to the disbursement department for payment and as of today have not received it. 16 months is a long time to have to wait and I feel Ive been patient enough and want whats owed to me. I have tried calling and emailing and have received no response. Any help you may be able to give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and I hope you have a great day.

      Morgan and Morgan lawyer *************** settled my case for ****** and the case was worth *******. My medical bills where ****** and Morgan and Morgan charged ****** so after all the fees I will be receiving ****** for a car accident in September 2022. I voiced my concerns about how much he was asking for but he told me this is the normal offer that is usually made and will be turned down and we will move forward from there. Will the insurance company expected the amount of course. Now I am stuck trying to get some else to represent me, and no one wasn't to take the case because Morgan and Morgan already has the check from the case. I very disappointed with how my case was handled I spent 4 months in physical therapy and 4 months seeing a Chiropractor my life has literally been turned upside down. now there's nothing I can do about it. Can someone please tell me what to do from here? Thank you.

      I am rejecting this response because:  Called and spoke with a client response member at Morgan and Morgan. I was told that the lawyer did everything right and nothing. Can be done about the situation.  So when I speak to my lawyer i told him I would be willing to appect  the claim if Morgan and Morgan would lower the attorney fee to 33% which I think is more than fair. I should not walk away with a 568 dollar settlement and my lawyer receives 16,000.00.

      **************** case has been turned down due to his recent concerns he has brought to his case staff. We do not want ************** to walk away with $500 either. We make decisions that are within the client's best interest, and this way the client will not have to pay our standard 33% fee from his settlement. I see his Attorney has already been in communication with the client's medical providers and they have agreed to reduce his medical bills. I have attached a screengrab of an email sent by his Attorney verifying this. 

      Because this individual is not a client with Morgan and Morgan, we kindly ask that this complaint be removed.
