Financed wheels and tires with the the ***** ***** location in September 2022. Interacted with the manager named *** who assured us they always worked with customers and were a family friendly company. Was assured that if there was ever a repossession they would put other wheels and tires on. I had my wallet taken so was waiting on a new debit card and ended up being a week late on one payment on the entire seven months I was financing with them. They said they would have to go to collections which is fine. But they started contacting references that I didn't give them and blatantly lying, they gave my father a fake name for me to verify information and at one point even called my pastor and told him I applied for a loan and they needed to verify my address. When my pastor called back it was the manager I had just spoken to hours before hand about my understanding of the need to repossess. I understand that when you can't make a payment things go back, I have no issue with that. I do however take issue with a company telling lies about me to family and associates when I am staying honest and transparent with them.Business Response

I looked into this complaint by contacting the named employee in the complaint- "Ben". I confirmed that we only contacted listed references - authorized by the release on
the rental order form. We do not discuss account information with any 3rd parties, we simply ask them to have our customer return our phone call as we were having
a hard time getting ************** to return a phone call or keep his appointment to come in to the store to resolve the matter. There would be no way possible for us to
"contact references that were not given to us." We have a signed rental order form, rental agreement, as well as all the addendums on file. When references ask what
we are calling for they are reminded that they were listed as a reference by the customer, to be contacted in the event that we cannot reach the customer- nothing more than
that.

I am rejecting this response because: I have kept in contact with them. I refuse to be villainised when they have poor business ethics I will submit a request for my phone records to the phone company that I use and that will show that I have continued to be in contact with them. Ive even given them a day that I would be able to make my payment and still they would continue to call me everyday just for the same response. Ive been a 100% payer the entire duration of the account with RNR and after 1 payment missed they will harass you everyday and the references while even telling them lies to verify my address when they already have my address and not once asked me to verify my address while I was on the phone with them. It was even difficult for them to give me my account ID so I could do online payments. I no longer feel comfortable with giving them my debit card over the phone as they will just take a payment out without permission to do so. I use to get a call every payment to be sure they could take it out. But it then came to a point that they would pull it out on their own the company is crooked and will continue to be I refuse to continue business with them I want the account closed with them they can have their product back.
Sincerely,

There was no intention to vilify you in the last response *************** I just responded with the facts of the situation. Our stores do not contact references unless the customer is doing one of two things: Not answering phone calls/Not returning phone calls
I've seen that your pay history is very good, and I understand being upset that references were called as this is probably the first time it has been done. The store was aware of a lost/compromised credit card being the issue keeping you from making the payment and that is completely understandable as well. That is why they took an appointment for 3/18/2023 (a full week after the expiration). The lease agreement you signed does not have a grace ****** (for any reason) and when that appointment was missed, of course they would have called again! If you check your copies of your paperwork when you got the agreement, you'll see the credit card authorization that you signed and we have on file as well. So to allege that the store just runs cards without authorization is simply false. You got my attention, and I'm absolutely willing to work with you to get you back on track. I would be more than happy to have a phone conversation with you to resolve everything. In fact, that probably should have been attempted before coming here if we're being honest. We don't work for the BBB, they have 0 authority over our business. I'll be in the ******, ** store if you would like to talk. Just ask for ************* I hope to talk to you today sir!

The following statement is provided by the Store Manager in response to the Complaint:
i am very aware of this customer, he has been a problem. He thinks since he has paid as much as he has, we should just let him keep the tires, even though he has been repeatedly late and disrespectful to *************** She kept text messages from him, where he insulted her and swearing and cussing. I ***** her stop talking to him, i have 2 of his text messages he sent. we owe him nothing. As of 2 days ago, i sent him a message regardless of his complaint, he is still liable under his contract to pay or bring tires back, he responded he would settle up this week. If he comes in this store using profanity the way he has in the past, then i will call law enforcement.

The 180 day same as cash payment on the attached rental purchase agreement is a total of $2,548.00. The attached payment history indicates the payments made by the Complainant. The amount of the payments that are allocated to the cash payoff is indicated under rental payments ($659.64). That amount, if the account were current, would be deducted from the $2,548.00 to determine the 180 days same as cash payoff. Due to late fees for missed payments, the agreement's 180 day same as cash payoff is $2,121.79, if paid prior to 4/26/2023. After such date, the agreement reverts to the rental purchase agreements terms and conditions with a total payout over the period of the agreement of $5,928.00 9not including taxes and late fees. The agreement is self-explanatory.Initial Complaint

I had gone into this agreement with RNR Tires because I needed new tires and couldn't afford to shell out money for new tires and wheels. Everything was going great and payments were fine. A week or so before Thanksgiving, I went in and paid off my tires early and the same time put extra money down towards my wheels. Well, it was never disclosed to me that the extra money didn't go directly towards the total cost of my wheels, they just extended my due date out. So, without explanation or notice, my due date was permanently changed. They were charging my card/bank with seperate fees but on the same day, and with them changing my due date permanently, there would times my bank was zero or near zero. So anything after zero, I would be charged $24 per transaction, regardless of the amount. When RNR Tires would charge my card, it would do seperate amounts, so I would be paying them for each thing charged to me plus the $24 for each charge. This continued to go on and I had called the location I'm doing business with several times to stop doing it in separate charges and when they refused, I had called them on 3 seperate occasions to stop charging my card all together. Each time they would say they had taken the auto pay off, but yet it would continue to do it. I eventually changed my card and put a stop pay order on RNR Tires due to this. When I went in, they would try to convince me that my payment was always on this pay schedule. After I brought in the agreement and pay schedule from the start of everything, they decided to print everything off. After looking it over, they found the above to be true with charging my a late fee since then. I told them I never changed the due date as it is on the same week I get paid bi-weekly and my pay date hasn't changed in almost 6 years now. They refuse to own up to their employees s**** up and continue to try and charge me a late fee and remove the previous late fees, as I've been on time with payments from the start.Business Response

I wanted my customer id so I'm available to look at my account like any other bills . And make extra payments. They wanted me to just make phone calls. A couple of days later I call again asking for the id . They finally gave it to me after I felt like they didn't want to. I'm try to create my account but it said one was already created. I hit reset password. Put my Gmail and it said a mail was sent but when I go check there's nothing . So at this point I feel like they don't want me to be able to look at my account like they hiding something.Business Response

Our system has been having issues with online payments all together, and we are working to resolve this for all of our customers. The employees in the store were stressing their desire to be the point of contact for all of the customer's needs, but in doing so they failed to listen and address the customer's request right away. I brought my car into RNR tires because of it shaking, spent $2500 on parts and labor but did not fixed the problem. Then they said it is my rims so another $2500 on tires and rims. Still the car is shaking and the new brakes pads fell off almost causing me to wreck, but mess up one of the new rim. ******* later got the new rim in and the the brake lights come on and they will not do anything about it. $5000 later car is still shaking and the new brakes are mess up.Business Response

*************** did have brake work done at our location. Shortly after he stated that there was an issue with one of his brakes. ************** reviewed the problem and rectified it. Additionally, he complained about a scratch on his wheel to which we replaced. ****** later he complained that the wheel bearings were bad and needed to be replaced and that we should have diagnosed the problem when working on his brakes. We do not work on wheel bearings and explained all of this to ***************. ************** noticed that the car had other issues as it is an older vehicle and also explained this to the customer. We have rectified any concerns the customer had on the brakes or wheel without any validation that the work was due to us. We have done everything to satisfy the customer even with knowledge that he has had brought the vehicle to other mechanics and have no idea what has been done after leaving our location. As we explained to the customer that fixing brakes or putting on new wheels will not fix all of the issues with the vehicle as it needs additional repairs that are outside of our scope of work.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: First of all I went there for my car was shacking, not for brakes!!! And when they did the brake job They forgot to put bolts in to hold them in place almost causing me to crash and that is what mess up one of the new rim. They just put the replacement rim on after gripping to them 4 timesabout how long it was taking. I am still having the same problem that I went to them in the first place. Plus the brake problem is back with the brake lights coming on and making noise too. Right after they replace the rim last week I call them and told them that the brake light just came on and the brake did not feel right. *** the manager basicely said who care we just changed the rim. Now I look at my contract and they have been over charging my debt card every month for the start in the amount of $50 and the blowing me off now. I can't afford to be paying people to look at my car or getting it fixs the right way RNR TIRES took all my money and still did not fixs the problem and now the brakes are going out which I did not have any problem with before this all started. They need to refund my money so I could get people that now what they are doing to do it right and not just take my money.

I was at the ****************** in June 2022 and I just wanted 2 front tires replaced. After Initially decline there extra services and payment schedule. I was waiting around for them to get my vehicle in but the sales rep. kept pursuing me about getting the extra service they offered. I finally said yes after 45 minutes of him persuading me. I filled out the paperwork and agreed to have the payments scheduled to be charged on my CC over the next 4 months. It was suppose to be auto charged into 4 payment to pay off the total. My bill total for the 2 tires was $528.40 but with all the extras it came out to $671.89 But yet somehow they undercharged me in the 4 months and now I'm being charged over $1100 for 2 tires!! I've already paid them $970 because of the auto billing. I don't look at my statement every month like I should, but this place is scamming customers out of money. When I talked to there collection director ******** at the Richmond In. location she fell back to the contract I signed. Yes i signed the contract but it was not explained to me at all. When I left the building I was under the understanding that it would be paid off in 4 month for the total of $671.89. Its not my fault they under charged my card and now I have to pay the interest and fee that comes along with there contract that we rushed thru!! They are preying on people and its wrong!! They also threatened me with repossessing when I've already paid them over $200 of the agreement! They also wouldn't give me any other phone numbers to call so talk to someone else. Please look into this company what they are doing is wrong it may not be illegal but for sure immoral! Thank you for you time. ************************* ************Business Response

Bought tires and wheels from them 4/2022. Made biweekly payments of $116.08 and then out of no where my first payment in Sept. changed to $117.43. On 8/6/22 I was told that I still owed $1,309.79. I was told no interest or other fees are added to this and the agreement I signed does not mention interest ANYWHERE in it. From 8/6/22-1/23/23 I have paid $1,407.81. Which is $98.02 over what I was told I had left to pay. Today I am told that I still $409. They cant explain why. They cant even explain why in Sept. my payments went from $116.08 to $117.43.Business Response
