I have tried to freeze my credit report at least five times over two days. Each time i tried to set up an account. After supplying the information I had to request an email be sent to me with a verification code. Each email said it was supplying the code but there was never one there. When I called the telephone number shown on the web site for help the number didn't ring -- there was just a static noise. I did finally get to a person by calling Equifax's corporate number but that person had no luck sending me a verification code either. This has been a very frustrating endeavor. Freezing on Experion and Transunion was a piece of cake!

TERRIBLE! I easily froze/locked my credit with Experian and Transunion, after my bank account was breached; however, with Experian, it took two days of going round and round on the Internet and getting no where. On the second day, I was instructed to call their Customer ********************** number, which was equally difficult, until I was finally given the option of speaking with an Agent. The first Agent, ****, hung-up on me. The second Agent, *******, took all my information, again and told me that she had frozen my credit She was very nice, so I listened to a LONG presentation on why I needed to purchase their expensive Protection Plan, in order to be notified if anyone was trying to open an account in my name. I declined, since I had just frozen everything through all three credit bureaus. Since all of the detours appear to force me to listen to Equifax's sales pitch, I can only hope that my account has actually been frozen. Too bad that we are forced to deal with Equifax; I would fire them in a heartbeat, if I had a choice.

I recently had a question about a credit freeze and attempted to call Equifax. The phone system routes you in a way that states you can connect with an agent, but after about 8 minutes of verifications and roundabout routing, the system forces you into an automated option, which I didn't need and then hangs up on you. There is not direct customer ********************** agent option. These companies, Equifax included, don't want to give you direct customer **********************. They make it impossible to connect with a real person if you have a complex question. Their promise of direct customer ********************** is essentially bait and switch and there is no accountability.

Literally the WORST reporting agency! I have a collections account from a company that is not even in business anymore that has been paid off I was able to get it removed with Transunion and Expirian but ******* refuses to remove it. I have been on the phone for countless hours trying to buy a home but equifax just does not give 2 craps.

I feel the same as other. They are violating and falsely reporting wrong information. They say they will correct and update. But the information has not and my score with them keep fluctuating. I believe someone in the office dont know what they are doing and they need to see if this person is the one who is working with all these same accounts. They are causing stress because of the false scores and promises they are making. Please help and resolve. Please help. My score was excellent than they took 100 points down it dont make since.

Terrible customer **********************, if you are having any problems or question for them they have no answers. You are trying to find out how they are calculating or to give a valid explanation about the credit score the are not able to answer. In my case I am trying to find out why my credit score is going down when my credit consumption is 70%, and every monthly is getting lower as I am trying to pay out all my credits cards, and they are not able to tell me anything.

I tried creating an account - for some reason my name wasn't being accepted along with my billing zip code. In the process of doing that I got an email alert notifying me of a $1.00. I called the cust. svc. # and it took 20 mins. before they answered. She convinced me to purchase the Equifax Complete Premier plan. I rec'd the acct setup link and once I did that I was unable to access my acct and that was many hours ago. Something told me to look them up on the BBB website and was stunned by what I found. I'm going to my bank in the morning to report their inappropriate and borderline illegal operations.

After utilizing the link sent by a cust. svc. rep. I got this message "we are unable to complete your request please try again later" a few hours later my card has a pending charge of $19.95. I have an appointment with my bank at 11am to shut down my credit card before the charge goes through and beat them at their own game. After that I will be asking my bank to submit a formal federal complaint.

After reading numerous 1star reviews it became apparent and obvious to me that the are algorithmically creating technical difficulties while trying to create an account forcing consumers to contact them. The reason she said was that I was making to many errors which locked the screen. She then said that she could activate the account on her end. She verified my information and said that the account was successfully activated. I never got a confirmation email stating that my account was successfully created or given a consumer ID number.

Okay, I just tried calling Equifax customer support - ****** EST - and this is what happened. The prompt asked me would a ******* or ********* trip/ vacation be of interest to me I answered no and instead of bringing me to a rep the call was discontinued. I wanted to see if I would be able to cancel my so-called "account" apparently not. Bank of America said that as soon as the pending charge of $19.95 goes through they will reverse the charge and block any attempts to charge my account

And also issue me a new credit card and account number.

Equifax Data Breach on May 13,2017 has negatively affected 144 million consumers. They did not discover the breach until July 30, 2017. My personal information was stolen and | have actively taken steps to further protect myself and hopefully recover. The courts have order them to settle and to put in place practices that will protect consumer. This is not the only breach, it has happen several times recently with other reporting agency as well. If our information continue to get breach how do we know how much damage has been done to consumers already. I am being proactive and monitoring my credit/information. The reporting agency is offering free credit monitoring because they have been found guilty by the courts.
