I got scammed by a friends into this pyramid scheme. I paid $125 for membership under false advertisement. He asked me to join zoom call and filled the form. He even signed it my name. I felt pressured and scammed. It is just pyramid scheme. The way they try recruit new members is very unethical. I hope to get refund. I am more scared about them having my personal information. They have my ssn, address, phone and email. WFG is very shady company. I worried about my information might get misused. When I did my research they used this tactic to scam a lot of people.Business Response

On July 7th, 2023, I had a meeting with a "financial advisor" about an investment opportunity. He did not say much about what the company was about during our first meeting except that it connects you with other companies with specific products that fit your financial needs. I said that I was not interested in joining WFG at the time but I was interested in becoming a client. He told me I needed to register and made me share my screen over Zoom so he can see that I completed the form. He also made me pay $125 to sign up without explaining what the money was for. After paying, it said that I was now a sales agent even though I already said I did not want to join the company. I felt misled and lied to and I would like a refund and all of my personal information removed.Business Response

I would like to request a refund of my $125 fee for "financial education", as your SMD put it. My associate approval date was 7/17/2023. Your SMD stated many times my past wouldn't be an issue since it was so old, yet WFG terminated me on 9/7/2023 (date of termination letter). I feel your SMD committed fraud by lying to me that my past was long enough ago that it wouldn't matter, he was just wanting a recruit to pad his points.Business Response

Today I had an interview scheduled with a recruiter I had met on LinkedIn offering a position for financial advisor, similar to several complaints on here. The interview did not mention WFG and the costs or process to getting certified. I was told to fill out the form to get registered and have a background check done, I was also told that I would have to pay $125 for it. I found it a bit odd but I figured that maybe I would be explained later on what the process would be to get certified and be able to work within my position. It wasnt until after that I received a spreadsheet explaining the process and the money I would have to spend to get certifications for this position. I did not agree to this and was recruited under the false pretense of receiving training through the company. Their agent reached out to me telling me she wanted to share with me how she make extra income. She and another agent who claims to be the *** spent 2 hrs telling me fake numbers about how your money can grow, the types of products they offer, etc. I expressed interest but didnt expect to be rushed into signing up for them. The agents (one of which was my friend) managed to take my personal information and credit card details and I got charged $125 for background check. I got approved and was given a welcome email and an agent code. That time, I was never given the opportunity to think about it. After I left the meeting, I finally managed to look the company up and found out that they are an MLM business model and I dont wanna be involved in such. After I expressed wanting to terminate my connections with them, the agents flat out refused and still tried to convince me to stay. I sent an email to WFG asking them for a refund and for them to remove all my personal information including my SSN in their data, as well as remove my affiliations with them and their subsidiaries. I just got an auto reply email telling me I need to do it through their portal or through an agent. Their was no way for me to access the portal as I never went as far as orientation into the company, and I have no plans of wasting my time trying to convince their agents to just let me go. I tried to call them but the number doesnt even work. Now Im lost and paranoid knowing that they have all my personal information and I might still be affiliated with them in their records despite my unwillingness to do so. When I was introduced to this business, the agent said nothing about the errors and omissions fees. When I got the license they slowly talked about E&O premium fees and they said the first two months of the premium would get waived, but nothing happened. After 1 and a half years of this scam, I never did any business and started avoiding paying the Errors and Omission Fees. I received a termination notice from WFG and it was expected from my end.But, today, surprisingly, I received an email from WFG and asked me to pay $229.66. I was never told about this account roll-up fees when I was in that business. I was an active associate with WFG for less than 1 year, only selling one financial product. I terminated my contract with WFG 8/24/2023. I received an email, which I will post in full below, 8/30/2023 from WFG Account Rollup claiming that I owe the company $325.06. I absolutely reject this claim. I requested an itemized breakdown of the supposed debt that I owe and am awaiting an email response. I called the listed number in the email and followed the prompts by the automated messaging system. However, it concluded by stating that I am listed as inactive and hangs up. If this debt is valid (doubt it), I will not pay these people a dime until I get an itemized breakdown of the supposed debt and a full explanation. FULL EMAIL: Dear ***,According to our records, as of 8/30/2023 you have an outstanding debt in the amount of ******* that was not settled prior to your termination from and still owed to WFG. This balance can increase if there are any additional chargebacks and/or earn reversals processed in future commission cycles. I am rejecting this response because:I was sent two commission statements showing the commission amounts that I received while with WFG. This amount matches my bank records and matches the amount they claim I owe back. I asked for further clarity as it seems the suggestion is that I owe back any commission received while contracted with them as an agent. I communicated that this seems completely nefarious.
Their response was that this amount was a chargeback from the providing company and that I must get in touch with them directly. However, I cannot speak with customer support about the policy status as my agent code is terminated.

I was introduced to WFG by a client of my business back in April 2023. As a business owner and entrepreneur myself, I was energized and motivated by the opportunities that WFG had to offer. Plus the desire to help families experience a better quality of life & to establish a path to generational wealth was/is a priority to me. I was told as long as I could pass a fci and bci background check I could get my license and come on board. No problem, I thought, I have no convictions nor am I a criminal. I was all in ! I paid $125 and went through PSI for licensing which took a lot of time (1 month). I passed my test and past the background check and got my license. I also participated in Prosperity Elite, paid $200 for that. *** post licensing I spent $60 on AML, ******************* test and passed those test. Finally, ** told I need to pay $40 to undergo a background check for access to Mywfg.com back office; I did just that. After 4 months of training, drilling,test taking, recruiting, money spent, and most importantly building and cultivating relationships with my team and others WFG cannot continue a business relationship with me because of a pending case discovered from their background check. I immediately made several attempts to contact WFG corporate for more details and/or provide more details or info regarding their background check and some sort of resolution as to getting a refund, etc. Above all Id like to make verbal contact and speak to the powers that be in regards to this and my situation concerning a case that I havent been convicted of from a minor traffic stop involving other individuals. All in all , I am no criminal. This pending case does not convict me as a criminal nor prove that Im not a trustworthy fiduciary. I merged WFG into my life alongside my current business and it was a challenge that I accepted with the encouragement and support of my WFG team and all for nothing, a traffic stop that I havent been convicted of.Sincerely, 93ZEWBusiness Response

Aug. 9, 2023 I was contacted on fb & invited to a zoom presentation to start up my own business selling insurance. Recruiter talked about making extra income on the side ($5-7K). He quickly showed me a spreadsheet where financial circumstances are evaluated & then the products that are offered. Explained the steps to first register for $150CDN + tax with WFG & then 9 months to get licensed (for extra cost), while also getting training. Recruiter stayed online after zoom demo to take my credit card, name, DOB, address, phone number, email. He typed it all in for me, & scrolled through the agreement real quick. No way was I able to read it all or think about it. Recruiter digitally signed for me as I watched. From filling out the form to signing up was only a couple of minutes. I felt rushed & did not actually get to review in detail the Agreement documents until AFTER payment. At no point did the recruiter talk about the company MLM structure or how it makes money. Within 24hrs I was added to the associate WhatsApp group of 50 ppl & got contacted by another associate to schedule an Enrollment mtg. It wasn't until this point that I started to question some of the next steps. 1. For enrollment exercise I was to provide all MY info: my salary, bills, investments, insurance policies, mortgage, credit card *************** rates. I could not understand why as it was not explained. 2. Also the recruiter messaged me & asked that I prepare a list with all my friends/ family members names, phone numbers, occupations, & to make it as long as possible. They said it was for my training. I wasn't comfortable with that & it was not divulged before registering. After some research I discovered this is a MLM *********** asked to cancel & get a refund. The recruiter said I didn't have to recruit or use my list own list. He said the registration fee is not refundable. I want a full **************** of all my personal information from WFG or any other related database.Business Response
