I was invited to a presentation about life insurance. I was told about the opportunity to start my own life insurance business. I was excited to be able to start my own independent business however after I submitted my initial sign up fee of $125, I started to do some research about WFG and decided it was not for me. I contacted the agent who assisted me in signing up about my concerns about MLM model of business and the agent proceeded to deny that WFG is MLM trying to get me to second guess myself and just trust their word and not my own research. WFG is not a good fit for me and this is not how I see myself building financial freedom for my family and others. Id like to request to receive a full refund for my sign up fee of $125 and the removal of all my personal identifying information including my SSN.Business Response

I became an employee with WFG I found that I did not like the business so I informed them that I would be quitting. Found a new job and found that I am still appointed through transamerica! When I tried to cancel that they informed me that I was still active through WFG and needed to cancel through them which I quit months ago!! I need to start my new job and would like to terminate my appointment with them immediately! My agent number is 94YCPBusiness Response

Dear sir/mam I am reaching out to request a full refund of $125, which I paid on 08/4/2023 to become an associate with WFG.My WFG Code: 96GBR The reason for my request is that the terms of the agreement were misrepresented to me.During the presentation i was not given the chance to read through the documents and during the zoom meeting the screen was so small from me to see the documents and the representative was the one who docusign the documents.She even put wrong information on my birthdate, In light of this situation, I kindly ask that all my personal information, including my social security and credit card details, be completely removed from your records. I would also like to remove any ties with this company and would not like to be affiliated nor associated and employed as a sales representative.I am unsuccessful in contacting the company and have already sent an email to process my refund but have not received any response.This matter is of utmost importance to me, and I sincerely request that you address it as promptly as possible. On July 27th I was contacted by an individual on LinkedIn in response to a job post about a financial advisor position. I scheduled a Zoom meeting with them for July 31st to learn more. I was told that I'd have the chance to start my own insurance book and grow within. We then had a follow up meeting where there was a rushed process to submit paperwork. A couple hours later I received an email that I was charged $125 for a background check and found out about WFG. WFG was never mentioned during conversations. After doing some more research, I discovered WFG is an MLM, and I am not comfortable with that model. In general, I quickly learned they were trying to get people to purchase IULs they don't need or getting new recruits to do the same and just take a large percentage. I would like a full refund of the $125. I would also like my personal information removed including SSN, payment information, and contact information.Business Response

As of August 1st, 2023, I have paid $125 that I would like to be refunded. They did not tell me anything about their MLM model of business and was under duress while filling out my personal information as everything was going too fast and did not give me time to think about anything. On Monday, 7/24, I attended an orientation where I had to purchase the membership and courses online before they would continue with the orientation. I felt rushed and pushed into it. After the orientation that day and the next, I decided that this was not a good fit for me. I immediately let them know and tried to get a refund for the amount spent. All week I have not been able to speak to a live person at WFG or get a response to an email. I have sent an email to every email that I could find for support but no one is getting back to me. They are asking for my agent ID and when I give it, they say it is not found. I am increasingly frustrated and would like this resolved asap.Business Response

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to file a formal complaint against World Financial Group concerning an unjustified debt claim totaling $265.11. While I acknowledge that I may owe a portion of this amount, I firmly dispute the inclusion of $45 in platform fees and $20 in admin fees.According to the recent communication I received from World Financial Group, I am purportedly indebted to them for services rendered. However, the breakdown of charges provided lacks transparency and fails to justify the inclusion of platform and admin fees. I have not been made aware of any contractual agreement or prior notice that these fees would be applicable to my account.To clarify, I acknowledge responsibility for any legitimate charges owed for the services I genuinely utilized. I was going through the regular hiring processes and while doing some background research before my orientation I realized that this company seems more like an MLM based on the reviews found here. I would simply like to state to the company directly that I am requesting all my sensitive information be erased from your records such as my SSN and other personal information(Name, Phone Number, Email) as I am no longer wishing to seek employment through your company. I never finish my contract and use any resources from WFG. WFG terminate my contract(even not finished the whole process) and ask me to pay an unreasonable payment for $71. That doesn't make any sense! You should waive it!!Business Response
