I was offered an "interview" on March 6, 2023 with the job description being financial professional. I was pressured into paying $125 on March 15, 2023 for a background check and I was completely unaware of the *** pyramid scheme I was being roped into. I would like a refund for my $125 and my ssn and all personal information of mine to be removed from WFG.Business Response

I am filing a complaint for a refund for ****** from WFG. I was told this deposit was for a standard background check. When asked about it I was given flaky and uninformative answers. I did some research and a standard background check costs $35 dollars *** for employers, and due to the fact that I was uninformed and misled I believe I should be reimbursed.Business Response

Date of Transaction: 05/18/2023 Amount Paid: $154.95 After doing the right amount of research on this company, I realized that the amount I have paid largely goes towards the background check. I have never had to pay for a background check and I was not told this in the interview even though I asked what this was for, the ladies told me that this is all for the insurance license. THIS IS A SCAM. I was told I'd be working with TransAmerica but then WFG and other companies came into the conversation...so who would I actually be working for?? The interviewees do not tell you where they gathered your information from because I had never applied for this company but the ladies were persistent and had pushed me to go through the next process. There isn't enough information disclosed and I feel that I have been scammed and taken advantage of. I need this money back, I was told I would be working with TransAmerica but then get hit with World Financial Group...confusing information is being presented, they lie to job seekers by saying that YOU will get training. Training that YOU need to pay for, I was never told that I would be paying for this training or this amount of $154.95 and wasn't told these were two separate payments. I was approached by one of the recruiter on LinkedIn from World Financial Group (WFG) regarding job opportunity as I was looking for a job I said yes and then we had a zoom call where I was told about this opportunity and I at the end of call I was asked to pay for registration fee and I denied. But he was very persistent and made me pay $169.50 on March 6 2023 and I want a refund as it was something I never wanted to do at first place. Dear, I am writing to request a full refund of registration fee of $157 that I paid on 22-Dec-2023 to become an associate with WFG, as the terms of agreement were misrepresented to me. No proper Information were provided &payment were done in rush by the representative. I haven't registered on WFG website with credentials provided. I entered an insurance agreement with my agent. I received my insurance information but I never signed the agreement. Still the company took 300$ from my account(March 20th). When I wanted to cancel my insurance my agent simply ghosted me.
