I paid $120 on 2/8/23 with expectation that I would become an agent with WFG. I was given wrong information and misled about this job and even asked before committing what would be required of me. My first day I was pressured into contacting SIX of my friends and family regarding this opportunity. I was continuously pressured into contacting more and more people and specifically told not to give them any information regarding this opportunity. I asked if I would be securing my own leads for this position and was informed I would not due to the built-in referral network which turned out to be a lie. I was also told I would be reimbursed for my licensing fees when I passed my test only to later be told I would also need to sell 2 plans and get two other people signed ** in order to be reimbursed. I left feeling very taken advantage of. I would like a refund of my $120 initial application fee.Business Response

I began the onboarding process on 2/6 was rushed to sign to WFG by their recruiting agents, who didn't allow me to read any contract that I could get refunded. I was told I had to pay $125 to initially sign up. Everything was rushed and they wanted me to get license and test in less than 2 weeks!I no longer wish to be involved with the company and have unforeseen life events that will not cause me to complete.I signed up on Monday and asked for a refund on Tuesday. The upline smd contact wife said WFG would not refund my money which is a bold face lie according to BBB reviews. After being blatantly lied to in my face and I think I made the right choice to walk away within 24 hours and would like my money back ASAP. I also want all of my personally identifiable information (name, social security number, address, phone number, birth date, credit card information and email removed from WFG's systems).Thank youBusiness Response

I applied for a position that did not mention WFG or the fact that it was an insurance sales position and that it was based 100% on commission, which I was explicitly told was not the case when I asked. I was pressured to pay a registration fee to WFG of $125 on Feb. 2, 2023 under the guise of it being required for licensing purposes. I looked into the company and am very uncomfortable with their business practices. I have emailed WFG multiple times requesting a refund and deletion of all my information, but they have been ignored completely. I am now requesting a refund of my $125 and a complete removal of all of my personal information from WFG and its affiliates' systems through BBB as it seems WFG is more responsive here. I want an email confirming that my information has been removed and my refund. Thank you.Business Response

I joined World Financial Group on 2/14/2022 at their *******, ********** location. On that same day, I paid a fee of $125 through ********* to become a sales representative. Representative ***************************** helped me register. Around a month later, on 03/01/2022, I told the company of my intention to quit. My agent code was 86GRN. I am requesting a full refund of the $125 initiation fee, and the deletion of all my personal information from their devices and servers.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I sent an email on February 6th to the email that WFG told me to along with the necessary information. They responded saying they would delete my agent code from their servers. After receiving that email, I followed up by asking if they would be sending me a refund as requested in my original BBB complaint, and they have not gotten back to me. Then, earlier today (2/08), I received an email stating that I only have 5 days left to pay a $50 renewal fee to remain as a Sales Representative. They certainly have not removed me from their systems then, as I am still receiving emails from the company.

This company sent me an email with the opening line "I am the Director of Expansion at Transamerica Financial Advisors/World Financial Group... Its great that we found you when we did because we are hiring for part-time or full-time remote positions across *****************..." So, I contacted them and then was pressured to make a purchase of $125 to WFG by their recruiting agents, and they did not allow me to read any contract or agreement of purchasing on January 2nd, 2022. I figured out they are only insurance agents, so I would like to get a full refund as this transaction was not done ethically. I am so disappointed by them!Business Response

Joined WFG on 1/15/2023. Paid $125 (Braintree Transaction ************ for membership fee aka background check. I was asked to spend more money at conventions. I thought there was a base salary+commission style, because I need to pay off my debt that increased significantly with the increased federal interest rates. My WFG Agent Code is 92ASK. On Thursday, 1/5/2023, I attended a free financial advising zoom meeting with *************************, who said he represents World Financial Group (***). I agreed to participate in this zoom meeting offered by ************** entirely because of my interest in retirement planning. However, toward the end this meeting, he introduced me to some *** 'club' membership. He described this 'club' as a lifetime membership to free financial education resources provided by ***. Such resources include access to videos of past financial advising webinars and future monthly financial education webinars. What I didn't know, at the time of purchasing this 'membership', is that it makes me a 'broker' of your company. Nor did ************** explain how the *** brokerage system works. Only on Monday 1/9/2023, during another zoom meeting, after ************** explained to me the *** system works (including hos its sales proceeds are distributed among individuals in its network), did I learn that *** is a multi-level marketing company and that in fact I became a downline broker of **************. Because ************** did not disclose to me the nature of the membership, which is to make me an salesperson of *** and a downline broker that serves ************** himself and his uplines, I was completely misled. If I knew this is what the 'club' membership entails, I would never have agreed to purchase such a membership. This is an outright fraud!The attached email is what I received from *** after the purchase. The email 'sweat?***********' is ******************. The message about my becoming a 'Sales Representative' of *** took me by total surprise. My requests with *** are to revoke the transaction, to cancel my membership (i.e., to remove my name from their broker database), and to refund the $125 fee.Business Response

I completed an onboarding session with a couple of WFG advisors and they asked for a payment of $169.50. I was unaware of all the steps and processes. I also had some personal unforeseen circumstances to deal with that would not allow me to proceed with the onboarding process so I reached out to the advisor less than 24 hours since I sent the money and he advised me to reach out to WFG customer service to collect a refund. I have sent multiple emails for the past few weeks and have heard nothing back. I would like a refund of $169.50 as I have not achieved anything within the company. I was also made aware by the advisor that I would be getting a refund.Business Response
