I was rushed and misled to paying $125 for a background check and given promises about the work. I soon came to realize this was a scam and felt constantly harassed and pressured by the agent. I would like a total refund from this company and want nothing to do with it. I would also like my information to be deleted as I am concerned about my safety.Business Response

I am deeply disturbed by my experience with WFG, an affiliate of Transamerica and especially one of their top agents *****. I am a recently single mom of 2 and I was looking to adjust my payment to account for COLA, I was informed on April 29 that of my $190 dollar monthly premium for each of my children $146 dollars goes to fees and charges. Of my $507 monthly premium $305 goes to fees and charges. That is $597 per month in fees out of $887! This should be illegal, and if it is not it is immoral, unscrupulous, and unethical. I will be reaching out to the **** my elected officials and anyone I can share this with. I was NEVER made aware that the fee structure would be so high! Nor was I made aware that if I wanted to surrender my policy before 15 years there is a surrender penalty of the ENTIRE Cash Value! If WFG backs their agent then they are a corrupt company making money off mostly minority communities. I'm so very hurt, they also told me my partner was approved for coverage so I canceled his Term policy and then they tell me 2 months later, sorry the policy was denied. My partner died on Dec. 25, 2023 at 41 with NO COVERAGE thanks to WFG.Business Response

I paid 125$ for my background check on April 30th and nothing was really explained to me besides were are going to change your life and i believed him and wanted to really learn but after going I realized its not really what it seems to be or said out to be they recruited me so I can either recruit more people and sign up for life insurance and or recruit people and make them sign up for life insurance it feels very pressuring and him trying to get my family involved. They are hiding what they are doing and had me pay and its all hidden behind want to get rich want to make money and lots of charisma and making it look better than it actually is so in the end I paid for something built off of secrets and things that were not even saidBusiness Response

I am am currently looking for a job. During the job search process, I was deceived into promising that this was a full-time financial advisors position. They kept telling me that this was a wholly-owned subsidiary of TransAmerica, and asked me to believe that their financial group was very large and would not lie.But the facts are completely different from what they told me. I sent a letter to ***IA a week ago on April 22 to request a refund. ***IA also agreed on April 23, I just don't know how to proceed with the refund process, and I am just wondering how can I get my money back directly and safely.But I didnt get a friendly reply in the follow-up, and the *** Agency Supervision specialist didnt explain clearly how I should proceed to the next step during the phone call. She hung up on me twice. I believe ***IA is a company with integrity and willing to help customers. The date of this transaction is 04/17/2024. World Financial Group promised me that I would be able to become a financial advisor working with company after getting my license. That statement was a complete and false representation of what they actually even do at their company. They sell pricy insurance and do not help people they are recruiting become financial advisors. They pressured, and lured me into paying $125 fee for a background check that went no where. They had me pay $35.96 for my studying material after they said they would help me get my license and that was my first red flag. They are nothing but shady recruiters and salespeople who lie about what they actual do and sell. They tell you that they will bring you leads, but that is not true. They ask you to bring your warm market to them, and then they leave you to your own devices. This company is very unethical and pry on people who trying to only enchanted their lives. I really hope that BBB takes a good look at this company and does something about it because I know there are many people out there being scammed by this company.Business Response

my case was closed but has not been resolved yet. The company that I made my complaint against WFG Group replied to my complaint saying that they would pay me back for the amount that I was asking for in ***** business days. That has not happened and I filed my complaint with the BBB on 04/26/2024. Please get back to me as soon as possible so we can take the necessary next steps.

I am urgently contacting you to address the discrepancies on my credit report, resulting from the sharing of my personal information with credit bureaus. WFG charged me $125 on 03/12/2024 for what I was told would be a background check so I could receive classes to become a Transamerica financial advisor. My supervisor lied to me about the business model, failed to tell me what the job entails, and also failed to inform me of the actual job title.I was directly lied to, have no desire to be associated with WFG, want my personal information removed and want a refund. I have not attended any classes or orientations. I want a refund of the $125 that WFG charged me. I was on a zoom call with Agents of world financial group, to learn about their products because a friend invited me. After the first meeting, I did some research about the life insurance they are offering. On our second zoom call I presented my questions, seeking answer. The agent instead of first answering my questions, began praising my level of intelligence and said I should be registered with them, that I could be making money. She immediately asked for my card and social security number without explaining what it was for. After which she answered the questions and requested for my card details again, I asked what for she said it is to get a book to prepare me for my licensing exam. Then I asked what she used the card for initially, she said it was to check my credibility, since I will be working with a financial institution. She never mentioned there will be a $125 charge. She was so swift and crafty in the whole process. It is obvious their intent was different from mine. I just wanted to know about their product and see if I would be interested. But they are more into getting me into their pyramid scheme that I want nothing to do with. I want a refund of the $125 debited for their background check which I was not duly informed about as well as the refund of $29.95 debited for the book. I am not interested in doing a pyramid scheme or sitting for the exam. This doesnt align with my current plans. I was cajoled into this, their method was crafty, and unprofessional. They deliberately leave out vital information that can raise questions. I want a complete refund of both debit and my details expunged from their system. Its obvious they are trained to play mind games and prey on peoples ignorance. I dont want to be part of a company webbed in lies and crafted to deceive people.Business Response

I was charged $125 on 03/09/2024 for what I was told would be a background check so I could take financial classes. I was not told the actual business model. I do not appreciate being lied to. It has not been 10 days. I also did not get a copy of the papers I signed which is *****. I do not want to be associated with WFG and want my personal information removed and a refund. I was lied to about what the business actually is. I have not even been to orientation or take any classes.
