For the past 3 years, we have had a contract with SteriCycle where we paid quarterly for regular pickups. However, we have not received service since 5/2020 but were still being billed. I have tried to go through SteriCycle customer service to work this out to receive a refund for services that were paid for but never rendered. I have yet to receive a resolution though this dispute has been ongoing since 10/2023. The only time that SteriCycle has contacted me is to ask for more money for a remaining subscription balance that I will not pay since I have not received any service, even when I have called to schedule pickups myself outside of their automated times. I have still tried to schedule pickups but there have been multiple missed pickups and I have no faith that a pickup will ever happen or I will ever be able to speak to the fabled "upper management" that my case was supposedly passed to multiple times. Even after I signed documents to change my contract to as needed pickup, I still only get calls asking for money for my subscription, which should not be active anymore, but never to resolve my dispute regarding lack of prior services.Business Response

**************************** signed a contract with Stericycle on 10/11/2023 in order to have our sharps picked up. Per contract, this pick-up is to occur every 13 weeks. We have had 2 scheduled appointments, neither which have not been kept by Stericycle. After each no show I have had to reach out to the company to reschedule; there is no effort on their part to make good the no show of the appointment. I contacted Stericycle today 2/2/2024, and was told that our next (which would be our first pickup) will not be until mid April. This means that we will have to wait 6 months for service, all the while paying for service that we are not getting. We signed up for this service because we need the service and would not have signed up if we knew we would not get serviced for 6 months.Business Response

Since the beginning of working with Stericycle back in April of 2019, it has been a nightmare. **************** does absolutely nothing for us and it is always they can never seem to bring up any notes from the many previous calls we have made about complaints due to non pick up. We had to increase the number of containers we had at one point due to being full, and then again had to increase the number of pickups due to them not picking up on scheduled days. It was not explained at the time of signing a new agreement each time just to increase products and services that the end date of the contract would start over each time. The term being 5 years. Section 6 of the Terms and Conditions state that Either party may terminate the agreement for convenience by giving the other party at least sixty days notice, HOWEVER, if customer terminates the agreement for convenience, customer shall be required to promptly pay 50% of the monthly charge for the remaining months. We do not want to cancel for any CONVENIENCE... It has been a huge INCONVENIENCE, and yet we are still responsible. We are talking 57 more months. Even at 50%, that is still over $8,000. Why are we having to pay for a service that is not living up to their side of the agreement???? All we want is out of our contract. We will agree to the 60 days written notice, just let us out!!!! I have seen the responses from Stericycle trying to rectify the complaints. I don't want another phone call from them that is going to just give me the run around, say I will be contacted by a supervisor, (many times) and then never getting a call. Please just call me and let me know you will honor the 60 day cancellation which is due to an INCONVENIENCE.Business Response

I closed my business (*************************** MD INC) July 2023 and also close my account with ********************** before July 2023. All fees and balances were paid before July 2023 and Stericycle continue to bill me monthly fees. My business office is closed and empty and they did not provide any service since July 2023. I have call and email Stericycle almost monthly to resolve this issue and they continue to bill me monthly to this date and now threaten to send me to collection!? We contracted with Stericycle to provide medical waste pickup at our office. They did not come as often as we contracted with them, but we paid them according to our agreement. It got serious when they left us with medical waste for over a month, a serious concern in a healthcare facility. The driver advised us that they were short staffed. We cancelled our contract in May 2023. Since May, they continue to send bills. When we called, it was difficult to find someone to help. Long wait times and employee "hoped for the best." We have been getting monthly emails saying we are behind. Then I email customer service and get a reply that its been reconciled and closed, only to get another email the next month demanding payment. I would love for Stericycle to actually close our account and to stop emailing me.Business Response

We have been calling the customer service # about 15 times and no one can seem to schedule a pick up for used needles, our storage room has been piling up, we been calling since March of 2023 it is now almost one year later. We are about 20 months into a 60 month contract with Stericycle to collect our sharps and medical waste. This is essential to maintain compliance with our governing agencies and regulations. Stericycle has failed to make several pickups of our hazardous waste and will not respond to our inquiries or demands. All calls to their customer service are circular conversations with distant call center employees who are completely unhelpful (not even able to contact the local Stericycle provider to confirm pickup details). The calls result in zero resolutions as our medical waste piles up. This is becoming criminal behavior on the part of Stericycle, not only breaching their contract with their service deficiencies, but also putting our small business in a precarious situation where we could be fined or worse for failing to dispose of medical waste in a timely and appropriate manner. We would like a domestic and/or regional employee of Stericycle to contact us directly and immediately to resolve these issues and we would like to cancel our contract due to their negligence and irresponsible behavior.Business Response

We have been trying to contact stericycle for medical sharps pick up for the past 5 months since Sep 2023, we signed up for medical sharps pick up 2 times per year. No pick up has been done in 2023, it always says it's been scheduled but no one shows up, now our sharps container is dangerously full. We call more than ***** times, they always say a supervisor is NOT available but will call us back to schedule an pick up, so far only 1 person has called but no one showed up on scheduled day. We asked if we could drop sharps up, they told us "No you cannot drop off, you have to wait for pick up", which we did since Sep 2023. Finally we decided to cancel the service, after 10 calls, they always tell us a cancellation specialist it ALSO NOT AVAILABLE. So we are stuck with NO SERVICE AND NO OPTION TO CANCEL, CANNOT DROP OFF EITHER, BUT STERICYCLE HAS BEEN COLLECTING OUR MONTHLY PAYMENT W/ NO PROBLEM AT ALL. It is a scam, we request to have my sharps container to be picked up ASAP and request to cancel service by Dec 2023. No payment should have been collected since Sep 2023 due to no service and a huge waste of time trying to work with stericycle.Customer Answer

I contracted Stericycle for waste disposal for my Medical Spa. Despite timely payments and multiple calls for pick-up requests I have never been able to have waste picked up. I had several request tickets placed and even escalated over the Summer in 2023. I was denied the number to the local office to set up pickup directly. I finally asked for customer relations to cancel the contract for breach of contract on their part. I was assured by representative ********************** that the contract was cancelled and 60 day notice waived. I have since been sent collections notices for $24 ( the last 2 months). The policy is still also active per my calls. I have emailed *********** and left multiple voicemails.
