This company is providing all of my personal information and I haven't even officially given it to them. My profile is incomplete but I am not able to find where my information is stored. I have maybe 4 million recruiters reach out to me at once and NONE of them know a) how to recruit and b) respond. I am so tired of this and have asked this business to deactivate my account. Nothing was done.Business Response

I am truly sorry to hear about your experience. I have had a look in our system and I can confirm that there is no account active on ********************** under the email address you have provided: ******************************.
Unfortunately, if you have applied on another platform linked from CareerBuilder or your information has been retrieved by an employer and saved locally while your profile was active, we are not able to delete that information from their systems. As of today, this is my fourth time filing a complaint against the career builder website. I dont have a full profile created and no resume uploaded. I only visited the site in an attempt to find my information. Careerbuilder claims that they have been unable to find any trace of my information on their site. To date I have gotten over 100 phone calls, emails, texts and calls from employers finding my information on career builder. The last time I contacted career builder they stated that anyone could lie and say they found my information on career builder. I would have believed that if I wasnt receiving calls from legitimate businesses. I never applied for any jobs on there or even saved any job searches. I want them to stop!!! I don't know how they got my resume, a resume that is 4 years old, but I keep getting emails and phone calls from both American and foreign people saying they have the job for me, etc. I tried to sign back in to the site & remove my *********** am unable to because the profile was never completed. I dont know what kind of scamming tactics they have going on, but I want my email and phone number off their site. I'm being harrassed non stop!Business Response

ORDER FORM NO: CT-******* My company had an extremely unsatisfactory experience with the CareerBuilder service and its customer support. Without any prior notification from our account manager, *************************** ****************************************** the subscription was automatically renewed last year. Unfortunately, the career board provided no value to us, leading to the decision not to renew our contract with CareerBuilder for the upcoming cycle starting in December 2023.On February 1, 2023, I sent a cancellation request to ************** ********************************************** Case #********) and sent several reminders in March 2023. However, I have not received any confirmation that they have reviewed and approved my request. Additionally, my attempts to contact our company's account manager, ******************************* ******************************************** have gone unanswered.Considering the circumstances, my company is unwilling to continue paying for this service. I urgently request that this issue be resolved without delay.Business Response

Good Afternoon,
I apologize for the experience that your company has had. However, *************************** has not been with the company for some time. I can also let you know that the email you used for our accounts receivable department is incorrect. instead of an "_" it should be a "." so the email should be: ******************************************** in order to reach them, but you would not be sending anything to accounts receivable for this as they do not handle it.
In order to opt out you would need to provide that written notice to *********************************************** as per the contract terms. They are the ones who will handle the cancellation. I have attached a copy of the contract in case you wanted or needed it for reviewing.
I hope that this helps to answer your question and put you on the path to getting your issue resolved.Kind Regards,
Your CareerBuilder Team

Dear CareerBuilder Team,Thank you for your quick response. However, I must express my disappointment that I had to issue a complaint via this service to get a response from your. Here are my main comments on the provided information:
- *************************** was the Account Manager at the time when the subscription was renewed without any notification from your side.
- Our current Account Manager is ****************************************** who has not responded to any of my emails.
- I followed your team's guidance and sent an email about the cancellation request to the correct email address, ********************************************* I have an email from them requesting a reply email with the cancellation letter, which I promptly did. Please find a screenshot in the attachment.
- I want to ensure that our contract will not be renewed. Who should I include in the copy when writing about the cancellation request to ***********************************************? Please note that I sent my request in February based on the guidance from your team, our Account Manager didn`t resposnd to any of my emails, and I don't want to hear that we missed the deadline for notifying you about our intention to end our partnership.I sincerely hope that we can find a common ground. What my company wants is simply not to renew the contract with CareerBuilder.

Good Afternoon,
I apologies for the delay as I was out of the office 8.3.23-8.12.23.
I understand your concern. Upon looking into this, I see that on 8/10/23 your account was no longer set to auto renew and the product was canceled.
As there is no longer a sales associate tied to this account and both ******* and ********* are no longer with the company, I would be sure to include both of the below emails if you are looking for further confirmation:

I received a suspicious email claiming to be from CareerBuilder, saying that I applied for a job last week and I should update my resume. I hadnt applied for a job for a long time so I contacted customer support and spoke with the Client Support Specialist named ***************. Alok seemed not familiar with the facts, yet claimed everything was fine and I shouldnt worry, and that the email I got was normal. When I pointed out to Aloks obvious false assumptions **** kept emailing me boilerplate copy and paste text messages that were obviously not related to my case, and seemed to not be listening to what I was saying. When I asked multiple times to be put in touch with ***** supervisor **** didnt comply, and several days passed until I had to insist again and threaten to contact BBB about it. Finally I got a response, but it was from their security team, saying that everything wasnt fine as **** claimed, and that the email I originally got was fake and I should delete it. But I still never heard from ***** supervisor, there seems to be no way to make a complaint on their site without starting a new case, and so Ill mention my complaint here.Business Response

Good Day Abtin,
Thank you for taking the time to reach out. I apologize for the experience that you had when reaching out and working with ***** Please know that I have advised both **** and his supervisor, ******, of the complaint submitted to the BBB.
I would like to clarify that we do typically send anything with suspicion to our TSST (Trust and Site Security Team) for investigation and response, so that is why you would have gotten a communication from them. Nevertheless, that does not excuse the behavior and lack of escalation that you had requested. Please let us know if we can assist any further. Thank you.

I looked at a job on career builder and created an account, but only applied for two jobs and have no public resume on file. However I keep getting phishing emails, texts, and calls from scam artists stating erroneously that I applied to thier so called jobs or they found me on career builder. The supposed job offers are obviously scams and I want it to stop immediately. There is no option to delete my profile and I can't see where my PII information is public, so career builder has to be supplying it to these scam artists. I want it to stop now.Business Response

I have had a look in our system, and I can see that indeed a profile under your email address ************************* was created on CareerBuilder on 7/12/2023. You mention you removed your account, but I only see that your details have been removed not the account. Please see the below link and follow the steps for account removal:
*********************************************************************************************When you delete your account or request your account to be deleted, you cannot sign back up with that username. You will have to create an account with an entirely new email address. If you still want to delete your account, you will need to do the following:
Login to your CareerBuilder account
Where it says Welcome, your name hover over and click on My Profile
From your Profile Information page, where it says Related Settings, click Remove Your Account
You need to submit DSAR form and your account will be deleted in 7 days after you have verified your ID by following the steps in the email sent to you after submitting your deletion request.Unfortunately, if you have applied on another platform linked from CareerBuilder or your information has been retrieved by an employer and saved locally while your profile was active, we are not able to delete that information from their systems. I am rejecting this response because:
Their site did give out my resume & personal information as soon as I built me an account & then same day decided that I didnt want the account. No more than 15 minutes after, built account and then decided I did not want the account, I deleted all of my information..well at least I thought I did; however, that site retained my information/resume and numerous people begin calling & texting me the same date! Apparently from what Ibe read, Im not the only one. Ive attached a screenshot of one of the communications from someone who contacted me and said my information came from your site. You site may be hacked or something. I have went back and followed your instructions to have the account deleted. Yesterday 7/24/23 I received a confirmation that my request to have account deleted along with removal of my resume from your sight. When I signed onto the site, from my view, I dont see anything to remove because I had removed everything on my end. Thank You!

i tried careerbuilder.com. i searched on part-time within 15 miles of my home. career builder comes back and tells me they found 22 open positions that meet my criteria. they don't list the employers or the jobs just tell you that the 22 meet your criteria. i give careerbuilder the email that i use for part-time job hunting along with an old phone number that i have but do not use except for instances like this when i am concerned about being scammed. well careerbuilder has sent my resume out to every *** d*** and *****. they have spammed and spoofed me. i had to turn my primary phone off and open a new phone account. i have email coming out the whazoo on my personal email account while nothing goes to my job hunting email. they sold my personal information. i am getting calls from *****, I am getting non-stop calls for full-time, full commission sales jobs (i'm an underwriter with a job, i don't do sales). I am getting calls for engineering jobs (based on my engineering degree from 42 years ago). AND EVERYONE WANTS MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. i had to open a ******* account to get a new private email and a new phone line wit ********* I had to open an account with TRW to monitor my credit. This is costing me a fortune and I no longer feel secure in my own home.Business Response
