I've used careerbuilder for more than 10 years and I've recently signed on after two years and the website is completely different and full of scammers. This used to be a very good verifiable and authentic website. Who ever changed the whole site completely battered its whole system and authenticity. Now all the job offers I get are to take your personal information and is full of scam jobs. Very sad to see this site degrade so drastically.

This company is a scam and they almost got me to sign an i-9 and onboarding paperwork with ******** **** ******** which is also a scam company I sent my ID and SSN card info to them also, but I'm going to handle that with the BBB. Please don't trust either of these two companies anymore....... they're all cursed now by my Ancestors so mote it be.

CareerBuilder would NEVER ask you to sign an I-9 unless you were being employed with our company. At times, a company may represent themselves as CareerBuilder or as a customer of CareerBuilder while they are in no way affiliated. They do this because we have millions of users and attempt to use the brand to legitimize their contacts. We make every effort to shut them down with our privacy and security vendors. We also share information to help our job seekers keep themselves safe during the job search process. Feel free to visit https://www.careerbuilder.com/security-and-fraud for additional information on how to ensure a safe job search online and advise on what to do when you encounter scams or fraudulent content.

I wish you a lovely day!

      Kindest regards,
      The CareerBuilder Team

Had an account 15 years old and went to update it when looking for work. After refreshing everything the spam and phishing scams starting coming in. The jobs appeared as legitimate emails and texts but after researching are mostly phishing scams. Recruiters said that they had found me via careerbuilder and some emails even handles like this one "careerbullder.com via sendgrid.net " which if you look up sendgrid.net is also used for scams and phishing. Most "recruiters" aka scammers seemed to be coming for ***** as there are tell tale things in the language/wording that give it away. They always probed for more information like they did not have any despite them supposedly having access to view my CareerBuilder profile, resume, and info. I turned off the toggle setting to allow recruiters to find me on CareerBuilder but the spam kept coming! So much I can barely keep up deleting them. I am now going to delete the whole profile to hopefully stop it but it may not as my info is now out there from having it up on their site. I do have scams that come from Indeed, Linkedin, and other job sites as it is just prevelant in todays job market but CareerBuilder was on a whole other level with agressive phishing scams and relentless bombardment of scammers. They should be shut down for malicious practices as people are being scammed around the clock under the guise of potential employment and this is not right that they can make money as the middle man facilitating the scams. I have not had one legit job opportunity or offer come from them only scam after scam and that is not acceptable, they know full well what they are doing. There are laws against this: "unlawful for a person to sell data, or sell access to data, that the person has obtained or accessed pursuant to the commission of a crime and will also make it unlawful for a person, who is not an authorized person, to purchase or use data from a source that the person knows or reasonably should know".

Back in the day Career Builder was a good job site to use, but *********. There are very few if any legitimate jobs. Being led over and over and over to various job sites is annoying, and deceptive. Very sad, there are people who are out here desperately looking for work and no one has time for games. Do better or close down Career Builder!!

Do NOT use career builder for your job search unless you love getting scammed! Your inbox will be flooded with spam from phishing schemers and, ultimately, you will have wasted your precious time applying to jobs that do not exist. I cannot believe CB is allowed to operate in *****************. The *** should 100% be investigating them. In fact, I will be filling a compliant with them right after I post this review.

SCAM! I just looked at jobs on their site and now I receive calls and texts almost daily saying they have my resume. I never put my resume or information of this site! When I called and emailed to report it no help was given. Is Careerbuilder selling my information or using my to identify to scam employers to thinking they actually have candidates?! This is atrocious, BBB please hold them accountable and check their books, this is dirty!

Terrible business! I uploaded my resume thinking I was applying for one job on the site, and Career Builder evidently created a public profile for me because now I'm being bombarded with calls and emails. I see no way to remove my resume from this site. This website should not be allowed to share resumes without an individual's consent, this is incredibly unethical.

What a scam! Got an email from them asking me to update my profile from many years ago, and since I'm now looking for another job, I figured I would upload my resume. HUGE MISTAKE. I immediately (like, within an hour) received multiple, obviously scam offers to interview for a job. I am desperately trying to remove my profile and submitted a request to delete my account (huge red flag when you have to go through a request process and can't just delete your account on the spot). I searched the web for more info on how to at least make my profile private until I can get it deleted, spent a half hour trying to find any such option on their site -- another huge red flag that the CareerBuilder website doesn't seem to have any such privacy options visible on their site. Why are they allowed to be in business when they're obviously a scam???

Actively cultivates scam environment. Every single application leads to scam texts offering $35-50 hour remote jobs where you're expected to buy a laptop and expensive software from their approved vendor so they can send you a check that will bounce.
Also ignores all account deletion requests and sells your info unless you e-mail them to opt-out, and probably still does it anyway.
This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS website for your personal information.
