Brand new Camper purchased in April of 2024, brought back in July of the same year because of a roof leak. They let it sit in the heat all summer before finally working on it in October and by then the entire inside had grown mold inside the walls. They called and said it was finished being worked on in October so we drove 2 hours one way to pick it up with it to still have mold inside the walls and stained panels. Were now going on 7 months of not having a camper were paying for and they refuse to answer calls or do the work and return it.

Since the purchase of our **, Camping World has NOT been easy to work with. They have NOT fixed the ** as it should have been, they argue over every issue that arises with it, and when they say they cannot fix something, the excuse is that they only fix things covered by warranty. We purchased there "recommended extended warranties that cover the ** bumper to bumper" however, they are never able to use said warranties. In March of 2024, I faxed our cancellation request for the warranties, total price of $14,551. That request was NOT handled. As of today, Jan 31, 2025, Camping World is still denying us our cancellation and refund. Their team is basically selling warranties that are worthless, thus committing fraud.

I am rejecting this response because:

While we were given a refund, no settlement statement showing how said refund was determined.  The refund of $9132 is well under what we paid for the warranties.  We were told that we would receive information on what was being refunded and how the amounts were achieved.  The apology that we received from a regional Vice President was, sorry about the issues, but if you are ever at Camping World, let me know and I'll get you a store credit.  Why on earth would we go back to a place that we have had such issue with?? We will consider this closed when the refund amount is explained and agreed upon.

Dropped off camper 10/19/24 with agreement for 22 point camper inspection for $0, complete the required inspection warranty paperwork I provided them, and complete a winterization on the camper for $139.99. On 10/31/24 I received an email from Camping World stating that my camper was ready for pickup in which they were also recommending a roof preventative maintenance for $499.99 and a spot seal for $****** plus $100 for the caulk. I responded asking if during the inspection they found any any areas on the roof that required re-caulking/sealing since this unit is only approx. 1 year old and if so should this be covered under the warranty. They responded that this is considered maintenance and extended warranty will not cover this . There are areas where it does need caulking . They asked if I wanted to do this after the cleaning so that it adheres to the roof . Normally the cost of spot sealing the roof would be ****** plus caulk but it??s not a lot, so I asked the tech to drop the price to ****** plus the caulk. I replied to go ahead and clean/spot caulk since they were only going to be charging $190. On 11/20/24 they finally emailed me back stating that my camper was done and provided the invoice. On this invoice they were charging me for the winterization, the $190 for the spot caulk and $100 for the caulk but then they were also charging me for the roof preventative maintenance for $499.99 which I did not approve to be done. I have since have expressed that I did not at anytime agree to this $499.99 preventative maintenance but only to clean the areas where they would need to spot caulk and caulk those areas for the $190 plus caulk. They refuse to remove this charge from my bill and as of today have replied that they will not release my camper back to me which I own until I pay the full invoice that includes this $499.99 charge. Need help.

I am writing to share my experience with Camping World regarding the consignment of my van. I trusted Camping World to care for my vehicle during the consignment period, but when I retrieved it after 60 days, I found significant damage and signs of neglect. Two weeks prior to the end of the consignment period, the Manager called me asking about the operation of the sliding door, as sales staff were reportedly having issues with it. Despite this conversation, no mention of additional problems or damages was made to me at that time. When I picked up my van, I was handed the keys and asked to sign off without any disclosure of issues. Upon inspection, I noticed the sliding door was not closed properly. Upon further inspection inside, I discovered:1.Steering Wheel: Completely chewed up, causing significant damage.2.Sliding Door: Left ajar and not functioning properly.3.Interior Paneling in the Back: Damaged and chewed up, likely from rodent activity.I believe that the sliding door being left ajar is how a rodent was able to enter the van, resulting in the interior damage. This level of negligence is unacceptable, as my van was entrusted to Camping World in excellent condition aside from two minor issues: a bathroom door lock and the power panel for the awning.I immediately brought these issues to *** *********, the person in charge of my consignment. He acknowledged the sliding door issue had been brought to his attention by an employee the day before but claimed no knowledge of the steering wheel damage. *** stated that Camping World is not liable. While I understand that I signed a consignment agreement stating Camping World would not be held liable, this situation clearly stems from neglect and failure to disclose the damage caused while the van was under your companys care.Ive obtained a quote for the steering wheel repair, which will cost $500. The sliding door will only work in manual mode and hasnt been assessed by a mechanic yet.

I went in to look at Campers at Camping World, I found one I liked and talked to someone about it, they told me I needed a $2000 down payment, which I didn't have at the moment but they told me that I could reserve it with $400 and come back later with the $1600. After giving them the $2k down payment, they let me drive the camper home with me. A couple weeks later when I went to make the first payment on it, I called the bank because I realized I didn't have any. information on how to make a payment. The bank handling the loan told me that the loan wasn't finalized and I had to talk to the financing manager at Camping World, *******. After I spoke to the bank, I immediately started getting calls from ******* asking me for more information before they could finalize the loan, but I had already had the camper at with me for about 2 weeks. They told me that if I didn't have the information they needed I would have to return the camper and pay an extra $1600 restocking fee! I was told if anything was wrong I could return it within 30 days (mind you I still had about a week before the 30 days) and get my money back but instead they ended up charging me more money, I lost almost 4k. ******* told me I could report stolen if I wanted my money back. I feel I was robbed of my money and they scammed me. I want my money back, I should have at least gotten my deposit back.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is partially satisfactory to me.

Although this matter has been resolved with satisfactory response: a partial refund. I still believe that this matter should be further investigated, due to the fact they tried to claim that I only gave them $2000 when in reality, I paid them $3600. Camping World claimed that they didnt see that on their end. Per their statements, I had only given them $2000. I searched through the paperwork I received from them at signing and found a receipt to prove that I, in fact, had given them $2000, plus another $1600. Only after sending them proof of receipts I received from them was when they called me to let me know they were going to write me a check only for the $2000. Even though I think they were very helpful in resolving this matter, I feel this should still be investigated further. Why did they only log partial amount of the money that was given when in reality, more was given. Where was the money? Has this happened to any other customers?

      Sincerely,

      *** ******

Camping world has had our trailer for one year warranty work for 4 full months, where 2 separate times we have been told we would be able to pick up our trailer and haven't, as well as them damaging our trailer while it was in their possession. We dropped our trailer off for cosmetic 1 year maintenance through our warranty September 3rd 2024. We have paid over $2500 in the monthly payments for our trailer, the warranties, the insurance and we have lost money on 2 trips we were told we would have our trailer back for. They have lied about multiple things they have done for the trailer, and scammed us and others. The location is ran with horrible management you are unable to speak to the same employee more than once, and management refuses to help you. We have been escalated to the Regional manager and even the corporate office (who has been extremely unhelpful). They hit our trailer while it was in the their possession and then tried to lie about specifics of the situation, and we were told for the second time we could come pick up last week and then called say of to let us know we can't and it is not ready. They also are demanding $700 from us for services we shouldn't be charged for. We are out thousands of dollars and can not even gain the trailer back in our own hands.

We still have no received them. They are blaming the dmv or that they dont have someone currently there working for the license. We are not able to legally drive around our camper due to the temp tag they gave us has expired. We have called to ask and talk about it multiple times but no one will speak with us or tells us itll be there soon and that is the end of it. I should t have to pay them registration tags and title fees if I dont receive any of the items I had to pay for and get the run around.
