      They sell baby chicks and ducks. We bought several chicks. Two of the chicks were older ones. they told us we could bring them back in a week. The older chicks killed the younger ones. They were selling them as all females. The older ones were male because of rooster like behavior. We wanted to bring those back. They said I could not bring back even though it was within a week.

      I was billed on April 12th 2024 for an item that was ordered and almost immediately canceled. The store told me they could not refund my monies without seeing a receipt. There is no receipt since the item was not received. The store refused to cancel the order or offer a refund without me traveling to the physical store, a 45 minute drive one way. I believe this is considered invoice fraud and could be a legal matter, but I have decided to attempt resolution with the BBB as a first step. The bill was processed and no services or merchandise was transferred and if I understand consumer law correctly, a company cannot steal monies from a customer who never received services or merchandise. I called and spoke with a Supervisor who said she would reach out to the store to confirm that they have the item in their possession but would not remove the false charge on my account. A refund has still not been posted to my account.Order #********* is a fraudulent bill that was processed by Rural King.

      I was billed for an AR-15 for ****** on April 12th, 2024.  Online transaction date is stated as 04/11/2024.  Description is MISCELLANEOUS AND SPECIALTY RETAIL STORES. Online purchse: Y.  Merchant information: MATTOON, ***

      The item was never picked up and is in the possession of the Store in **********, WV.  The bill is still showing on my **** of America Card and has not been refunded.

      To be clear, I have never purchased gloves at Rural King.  I cannot understand this level of confusion over a simple refund for items never picked up or received.  Rural King must refund the full amount immediately.

      I do apologize that the wrong response was sent to ****************. We had to wait till the store verified that it was still in the store possession before a refund could be issued. We have refunded in full. Our policy is that once shipped it has to be in the store possession before we can issue a refund.

      I went to buy these gloves on sale a pair of gloves that I enjoy very much so they were on sale for five dollars instead of $15 so I decided to buy seven pairs as well. As buying multiple other pairs of one dollar gloves I paid for my order shipping of $15 included and expected to receive my package later that day they canceled my order without my consent and denied me my items, I want those items for the price that I paid for !

      Back in May 2023 we purchased a Rural King Tractor (RK24) with backhoe and front loader. At the time of purchase the salesperson (who no longer works at rural king) told me that I had all that I needed with tractor to add a mid-mount mower. After taking delivery of the tractor, I called back within a couple weeks to order the mid mount mower. The same salesperson told me he would order it. I called several times to check on the status and I was told the mower deck would be in that it was on a boat somewhere. After waiting and hearing nothing from him I found a belly mower to fit my tractor from someone who had the same tractor but did not want the mower. Once I purchased this mower from a private sale, I soon discovered that My tractor had none of the hardware that I was told at the time of purchase would be there. I attempted to try and order the parts from Rural King thinking if it was not too expensive, I would eat the cost. I soon discovered that in order to get the mounts for the mower it would cost me in excess of $1300. I contacted the store manager and was told she would put a request into corporate office to try and make it right. She also told me that I was not the only customer the salesperson had lied to. I was then called back today and told that the manager would sale the parts for a 10% discount. So basically, I am still going to have to pay $1170 for something that I was told was already on the tractor.

I am going to sell the customer the kit and direct ship it to his home. The list price is $1560.00 our cost is $624.16. The customer's purchase price will be $750.00. The matter has been resolved amicably.

      On 1-30-2024 i ordered a fan switch online from Rural king and installed it on my furnace. It worked for a couple of days and quit working. I contacted customer service to return it about a week later and they said they would contact the manufacturer to send it back to them. The manufacturer ( US Stove) contacted me and suggested trying to adjust settings on the switch. After about two weeks i asked for shipping labels to send it back and they said don't bother, just dispose of it. I assumed they were going to issue a refund. After several days of no refund i contacted them and they stated i had to go back to Rural King to get a refund. In the meantime i ordered another switch from Rural King and it worked a couple of days and like the first one it quit working. Rural Kings online ad stated i had 30 days to return these items. I requested a refund on both items before the 30 days were up. They claim i was sent a replacement switch but i paid for both switches and they refuse to return my money.

      I purchased a handgun and my brother purchased a handgun through RK Guns and they were being delivered to the store. I received email updates on my purchase and he received email updates on his purchase and when they arrived at the store we went into pick them up. Thats when chaos ensued they accused us of committing a felony and accusing us of doing something illegal right off the bat and had not even ran anyones background for the handgun. Then proceeded to tell us that my brothers gun never arrived at the store in which he received confirmation that an employee had indeed signed for it. They told me I had to go home and get a piece of paperwork to prove my address. When I went back they accused me of illegal activity. My brother called the store manager to see if he would physically check to see if the gun was indeed in the store and after getting the runaround he finally confirmed the handgun was delivered to the store. I would not buy ANYTHING or recommend this place to ANYONE they are rude and very unprofessional and I have yet to get an apology from ANYONE. Now they agree to refund minus shipping when I didnt receive the product.

      Rural King has reviewed ***************** concerns and understands her frustration; however, Rural King has an incredible responsibility both morally and legally to ensure the safety of the communities it serves and must refuse the sale of firearms in specific circumstances.  In this case, *************** ordered and purchased two firearms, one for herself and one for her brother.  Rural King maintains policies that **** at times, be more strict than Federal and State firearms laws to ensure it is best serving the community.  Rural King will not transfer/sell a firearm in any transaction that could result in a straw purchase.  As *************** was purchasing the firearm for someone else, Rural King acted in an abundance of caution and refused the sale. As to ***************** full refund, it is Rural Kings published policy returns are accepted in specific circumstances, but customers are responsible for shipping costs in instances where the item is non-defective. Given the specific circumstances of this matter, the refund of shipping costs required review and will now be refunded. *************** will receive a complete refund of her purchase price and costs.  Again, Rural King recognizes the inconvenience to ***************, but hopes she understands it is of the utmost importance Rural King hold the highest standards in sales of firearms and strictly scrutinize every purchase to ensure the safety of our customers who are our friends, family, and neighbors.

      I received an $150 dollar e-gift card from an employer as a gift. I went to use the card 3 months later at a local store and was told it was deactivated. I emailed CS and was told to call in. I call in and give them the card number and pin. I am told that all e-gift cards were deactivated when Rural King rolled a new website in December. They said it would be fixed. 2 weeks later still not working. I email CS and again am told I must call in to fix it. CS tells me the same story about the new website deactivating all e-gift cards. I ask why this hasnt been fixed across the board if it is a known issue? I am told that the person (my previous employer) who purchased the card must call CS. I contact my old boss and he graciously contacts CS. They tell him the card is listed as inactive because of the new website but they will reactivate it and it should work in a few days. Its been over a week and it still doesnt work. Just exactly how much money is Rural King stealing from customers with this e-gift card deactivation scam!!!

      I pushed a chicken coop for $599.99+taxes on Saturday 02/10/2024 at the Rural King **** ****** *** ********* ********* We got this giant box home, and took it out of the box, started putting it together and so many pieces are broken. I called the store, not even 3 hours after purchasing to let them know. The women said I could bring it in and exchanged the pieces, but this was the last one they had of this kind. I told her I could come in show photos, i would just like some kind of discount. Then she said I could bring the whole thing in for a refund, really not possible due to it all already being out of the box and half put together and the orginal box got ruined in the rain. The very rude women on the phone said "well I don't really know what else to tell you about it." This is a $599 chicken coup, it should not come broken nor should I have to deal with the rude people working there. I now would like a full refund for this broken, cheaply made chicken coop.

The desired settlement says refund as well that is why the customer was directed to take the item back to the store of purchase. To receive a refund the item of this cost would need to be returned.

      I purchased an online gift card for my in-laws in September 2023. They struggled to use the online card due to their technical abilities. After numerous emails and phone calls, in November Rural king told me they would send me a physical gift card. It is now 3 months and I still have not received the physical gift card. They have not emailed me back about when Id receive it. Last I heard from them, I was told with the holidays you never know when things will get done. Thats the last I heard from them.

      The gift card was received Saturday.  While the resolution to complaint ID ******** is now satisfactory, I want to note how poor the customer service offered by this business has been.  With so many businesses on an even playing field and all competing for the same customers, this level of unprofessionalism will surely be the ultimate demise of the company.  Maybe not tomorrow or next week, but as more people report issues and competitors set a higher standard for their employees, Rural King will be king no more.  So sad, many people used to enjoy shopping there.  Tractor Supply and other regional businesses are happy to pick up your slack.

      I bought a car battery on March 10, 2023 for my vehicle. It is a 60 month limited warranty and on February 2, **** the battery was dead. I have the original receipt and attempted to return the battery and I was told I cannot return it because its past 30 days. Its unacceptable. I bought another battery from NAPA Auto because I needed a battery. I would like a full refund. The very ignorant manager said she replaces her car battery every yearthats crazy. Ive had my 2019 vehicle and never had to replace it until year 4 of having it. Thats appropriate.
