      I attempted to reach my insurance provider Allstate insurance thru my Allstate App. to request roadside assistance on 8/27/2023, which I have been paying for since I got my car insurance policy with Allstate (maybe a little over a years time?) . I got an error message when I tried to use the Allstate app on my mobile phone. I got an error message stating that the app was not working and to call Allstate instead, which I did. The people who answered the number found by googling Allstate roadside assistance told me that i didnt have roadside assistance coverage. I was in a desperate situation on the side of the road in the dark and asked what I needed to do to get coverage immediately and I as told it would be a $190.97 charge, which I was not going to agree to paying and thanked them and hung up. I have no idea how this happened because I did NOT give my debit card number to this person that claimed to be with Allstate roadside assistance. It wasnt until I checked my bank account this morning that I saw a pending charge of $190.97 on my USAA transactions list. Im going to review my Allstate auto policy and see if Ive been paying for roadside assistance coverage all along and request a refund from Allstate if Ive been paying for a service I was not able to access when I needed it.

      I sent an email to **************************************************************** on 8/17 to ask how to get the phone # for roadside if needed. No response received. I have no card, was unable to download it online & the area was grayed out. They took my $ but left me hanging. What if I had an emergency? I would've had to call a tow & pay for it. I tried 8/22 again to find a #. I had to call CS who gave me the #. I told the rep I wanted to cancel because I don't have time to struggle to figure out how something works. He then transferred me w/o telling me who he was transferring me to. ***** in retentions answered. He wasn't nice & told me I wouldn't get a conf of the cancelation via mail or ***** But you can send me a conf of signing up? Makes no sense, how do I know it was really canceled? He refunded the $ & refused to get me to a supervisor that I requested several times. Instead he argued & hung up. He accused me of cussing @ him when I didn't. He just doesn't listen well. His rude behavior caused me to call back to try to get a supervisor. Once again I was told "sorry" & a CS wanted me to relay it to her about an employee. An HR issue shouldn't be handled by a CS. She assured me it would get to some upper level complaint area but wouldn't let me talk to them. I said no, didn't want her warning the employee & decided the best thing was to file this complaint. You have 1 star rating so that speaks volumes. This *** used to be really good, not anymore. I canceled & signed up with Good ***. Member *********. Thanks for showing me upfront how bad the service is, I don't see paying $180 for terrible service. Best I found out now rather when later when I have an emergency. You're absolutely horrible. Just like AAA I will never join either again. Good *** has way better ****************** that neither of you offer. Your CS is worse than anything I've experienced in years. Thanks for showing me upfront how bad you are so I could walk before it got worse.

      I needed roadside assistance so contacted my Allstate app on my phone, it recommended Allstate Motor club. I was not a member so they told me it would be $98.00 for the changed tire that day but i could get a refund if i joined the club and then sent in the receipt to the Motorclub, the $98.00 would be refunded.Motor club took weeks and multiple phone calls to even get the receipt, one i received it i printed and mailed it off immediately. This has been a scam and they should be shut down. They will not speak to me on the phone and when they do its broken ************* get nowhere. They continue to take my monthly payment eventho i have cancelled multiple times and i have yet to get my money back.

      ******* Simpsons BBB complaint was originally received via email on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 8:29 AM. The **********, *******, contacted the customer twice on August 30th, but both calls went to voicemail. A voice message was left with apologies and an explanation as to why her reimbursement request was denied and that her membership was canceled, and the charge was reversed. The ** managers contact information was shared. The **** team was notified about the closure of the case the same day at 3:42 PM via email. The rejection was notified to us on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 10:23 AM, and an additional rejection was received on September 7, 2023, at 1:10 PM. The ********** attempted to contact the customer on September 8th twice, but the calls were also sent to voicemail. A voice message was left. The **** team was notified of closure on September 8, 2023, at 3:32 PM. The **** was originally closed on 8/30/20234:40 PM and reopened on 9/8/20234:29 PM.

      I have Allstate Roadside Assistance through AARP. I called them because my van was disabled, and I needed a tow. This was approximately 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. I spoke with someone who sent me info that TOP US AUTO, ************ would be arriving between 2:08 and 2:38 p.m.When no one came, I tried to check with TOP US AUTO (that required me to download an app to track their ETAs). My phone is not equipped to do that. I could not get to speak to a live person. On couple occasions, I got a text saying that they were on the way, with an ETA that came and went. As did all the other ETAs Whenever I tried calling Allstate, I could not get a live person to speak with. My phone number was used to give an ETA from TOP US AUTO's system. I made about 7 calls to TOP US AUTO, and got nowhere. I finally called TOP US AUTO and left a message to cancel the service close to 5:30 p.m.I had to call ********************** for assistance, and pay $167 out-of-pocket.At 11:00 p.m. that night, Allstate kept calling me, and finally left a message on my cell and home phones to ask if I still needed a tow.

      See the thing is I did sign up with Allstate Roadside Assistance I've been a member since **************************************** $11.08 out of my account as of Tuesday August 15th 2023 I called for roadside assistance I had a flat tire after taking all my information he tried to charge me $98 I said why should I have to pay $98 and you all been taking money out of my account they gave me the run around I have been getting around like crazy I contacted the numbers that's on my bank statement for the merchants the numbers have changed I did file the complaint with the bank and the bank is doing the investigation to refund me my money for the last 6 months

      My husband and I have been paying for Allstate Roadside for many years, even when it was called Allstate Motor club. Our account is billed automatically near the end of every month. But in July 2023 Allstate Roadside billed us twice for that same month. The authorized charge of $10.80 showed up in our bank on July 31, 2023, and the unauthorized charge of $10.80 was sent to our bank on August 2 and showed up on August 3, 2023.On August 3, 2023 I called Allstate Roadside about the overcharge and was told that some customers were overcharged yesterday (August 2) and that they were aware of it and working on it. They couldnt tell me when we would be reimbursed for the overcharge. I asked for a supervisor and was told there was none available because they were all working on the problem.On August 7, 2023 I called Allstate Roadside, at **************. They still couldnt tell me anything about why we were overcharged and when our account would be credited back. I was told that this would be escalated.On August 8, **** I called Allstate Roadside, at **************. I was trying to find out if they had any new information about the overcharge and when the our account would be credited back the $10.80. The customer service rep rudely recited the dates that I had already called them about it, and then told me that it had already been escalated.Later that same day I called my Allstate Insurance representative for help with this matter. After checking into it she got back to me and told me that she wasnt told anything more than I was.Today is August 14, 2023, and at this writing we still know nothing about why the overcharge happened, or when or if our account will be credited back the $10.80. Its been twelve days since our account was overcharged, and eleven days since I first notified Allstate Roadside about the overcharge. The error was made by Allstate Roadside, and it should have been corrected by now. Our account needs to be immediately credited the $10.80 overcharge.

      I filed my complaint against Allstate Roadside (Allstate Motor Club) with the BBB on August 15, 2023. Allstate Roadside responded to my complaint at the BBB on August 17, ************************************ within 48 hours. Today is August 22, 2023, exactly 5 days later, and I have not been contacted by Allstate Roadside. I have not received a call, an email, or even a letter, and I have not received a refund of the $10.80 that they overcharged my account with on August 2, 2023.

      I received a letter in the mail from Allstate Roadside dated August 14, 2023. Interestingly enough, that is the exact day that I filed my complaint with the Better Business Bureau.


      Even though my bank account is automatically debited every month for Allstate Roadside, and has been for over 11 years, this letter was a roadside assistance bill for an Annual Membership Renewal due by July 27, 2023. The bill was payable by credit card, check, or money order in the amount of ******. The kicker is that the bill is for the membership period of August 27, 2022 through August 27, 2023! So not only are they charging us for the past 12 months that weve already paid on, and dating the letter the exact date that I filed my complaint with the BBB, the payment of $****** is due 17 days before the date on the letter! 


      We still have not received the $10.80 that they overcharged our account with on August 2, 2023, but receiving this bogus roadside assistance bill was the last straw. With the help of our local insurance agent, we have cancelled our membership with Allstate Roadside.

      I received a call from Allstate Roadside on August 29, and during that call the representative told me that they had refunded my $10.80 on August 15. I responded that my bank never received the credit. The representative said that it should have, and I responded that Ive been in contact with my bank and have also  been checking my balance regularly, and it never showed up. Then the representative told me that she wanted me to take a screenshot of my bank statement and send it to them. I told her that there was no way I was going to take a screenshot of my bank statement and send it to them, and I said if they really did refund the $10.80 to my bank account, it would have already made it to my bank. I asked her for a tracking number or a trace number, or any kind of number that was linked to the credit they claimed they sent to my bank, and she couldnt provide me anything. 

       

      Listen up Allstate Roadside, do you really think that I would send you a screenshot of my bank statement? Thats almost as funny as the bill you sent me in the mail recently, billing me $140.40 for the previous 12 months of Allstate Roadside, even though youve been automatically debiting my account every month for Allstate Roadside for the last eleven years! Its very suspicious that the bill was dated the same day that I first filed my complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau, and portrays them in a very dishonest light.

       

      The smartest thing I did was contact my local insurance agent recently and cancel my membership with Allstate Roadside, and I was ecstatic when I received written confirmation of the cancellation in the mail today.

      5/10/23 called for tow for *********** Told we dont have RV Ins, which weve had for years. I insisted we had **verage as weve had both **vered & towed in the past. Our policy **vers 100 miles to location of our choice, for ************** she was finding a tow **. I called the Allstate # several times, told each time I was **vered. When agent called me back for p/u tow, she charged me $231. for the extra miles on the p/u but REFUSED TO COVER the *** Argued & argued to no avail! Then she claimed tow **. Cancelled, no longer available! She was to cancel the $231. Chg. She had to find another **. I called the 1st ** as they texted to say they were **ming., they hadnt cancelled.Agent called to tell me she found another ** but wed have to pay over $1500. for RV-I refused. Told her 1st ** still available. She called them again/now over 2 hours!!! Told me to pay them directly for extra miles over 100 limit. We decided to pay for RV ourselves, as other agents assured me its **vered, would fight for refund later. We paid $209.15 for extra miles on p/u,$687.06 for RV directly to tow **.Home for 3 days-$231 still on card-new charge on 5/13 for $232. w/o any **ntact-FRAUD! Had to call to find out they were chging for the extra miles, which I already pd the tow ** for(per handbook).They refunded the $209. so they **uld charge me more/$232.00 Their handbook says they will only refund $260.00 IF THEYRE UNABLE TO FIND A TOW CO! They WERENT UNABLE-THEY REFUSED!Weve been fighting this for over 3 months. Recently told theyre done - case closed!Weve only recd $260.for the tow/which proves we were **vered!Allstate owes us $232.00 - $209.=$23.00 $687.06-209.(extra miles)-260.(refunded)=$****** TOTAL DUE: ****** + 23.00= $241.06 MUCH MORE TO THE ***** BUT NO ROOM!

      I was called by Allstate on 8/17/23. After much discussion the agent offered to send me $175.00 more to settle this claim. I ACCEPTED! She said Id receive the check within 15 days. Yesterday, 8/23, I received a letter stating theyre unable to honor the expense . (We are unable to reimburse you for all your charges !!! DENIAL REASON: No coverage on Service Date!!!) LIES! They covered only $260. of $478.00. How did I not have coverage?????  ALLSTATE is certainly living up to its REPUTATION for getting out of paying VALID CLAIMS! ROTTEN COMPANY! How do you refuse to pay for what I was covered for??? I guess now Ill have to turn to the INSURANCE COMMISSIONER!!! Stay away from this company/SPONSORED BY AARP sad to sponsor a company that RIPS OFF SENIOR CITIZENS!!

The **** team notified us about the rejection of the BBB on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 7:07 AM. ********** ******* called the customer three times on August ********** PM, 3:48 PM, and 4:17 PM) and sent him a goodwill gesture for $175.00 to cover the balance of the out-of-pocket the customer paid. The customer agreed to the resolution, and the ********** notified the **** team that the concern was closed on August 17, 2023, at 4:45 PM, and the **** close date was 8/17/2023 at 5:43 PM.

      My membership came up for renewal on 6/19/23 in the amount of $105. I called on 6/6/2023 to cancel because I had picked up coverage elsewhere. When reviewing my credit card statement I noticed I was still charged the full annual rate on my renewal date. I called them back on 7/12/2023 and canceled again. I reviewed my credit card again and noticed only $98.23 had been refunded. I called again on 7/24/23 to get the rest of my money back.Some of the people I have spoken to are ok. In general the process and procedures of this company are horrible.

      On July 4th 2023 I needed Roadside Assistance. My battery was dead. When the Roadside guy got there he couldn't get in the car or find the keys. Instead of calling me. He hooked my car up and while in gear drug it into the truck. Then when he arrived he didn't give me time to locate the key. He just dropped it in the middle of my drive. It has damaged my drive train and transmission.. Allstate keeps telling me I have to handle it with the towing company. Then they refuse to give me the name and number. Leaving me with a busted car and no way of resolving the issue. I call Roadside Assistance they hang up on .e.

      Our truck broke down on the interstate. I used my app to get a tow truck. My original request was made at about 930pm. It is now ****am. I'm am still on the side of the interstate. I was originally told 118 min til tow truck arrives. Now after I called the tow company, I am told another 30 min. Online, Allstate guarantees help will arrive within 30 min or less. This is craziness. 4 tow trucks have passed me while I have been waiting.
