STAY AWAY, do you understand these two words? I applied for a balance transfer credit card. I got approved for a credit line that didn't satisfy me, so I didn't agree to the terms like the system requested. Also, I called the same minute, and I canceled my application. The representative told me that they canceled it. Two weeks late, they did the balance transfer, and they start asking money; they ruin my credit score as well. The months we are at the phones back and forth, and they invistigating all the time. The representatives also cant understand people with slight accent, and they treat you like you are stupid because of this. STAY AWAYYYYYYYY.

I received a pre qualified offer and was approved after applying for their credit card. Then they send me an email the next day saying the account is on hold pending verification of documents. When I called the number provided they said I just need to send a photo of my DL and proof of address. They asked to see bank statements and other documents not typically required for a pre qualified credit card. After complying with their request they then said everything checked out and I would receive the card soon. Following day I get another email from them wanting me to sign a release for IRS to give them my personal information. *** never had to jump through so many hoops nor have I ever known anyone to experience this type of headache. I can only imagine what it would be like if I ever needed to dispute a charge. I then had to ask for an account to be closed for a card that I never even received. Very unprofessional and would not recommend this credit card to anyone!I will not consider them in the future. Sincerely,ALASKAN LODGE OWNER

This has to be with Discover Banking Services , Advertised Rates are Not guaranteed rates. Although in NICE big print the state, ( Lock in your CD rate to earn guaranteed interest ) they don't provide the hidden very small print that states ( Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is accurate as of 02/15/2023, is subject to change without notice, and will be determined and fixed for the term at funding.) Believe me, They use this along with delays in funding to provide a much lower rate that advertised. A *** CD that requires special funding takes , according to Discover 7 to 14 days. They provide NO GRACE ****** to fund and in that time will drop rates 3 or 4 times for the CD you opened because of their advertise much higher rate. They also seem to have a large delay in receiving mail, processing mail and posting that funding to your CD. With this they refuse to accept the post **** date as date received and Count on their delays to provide for lowering of rates. At a time when Fed rates are increasing, Discover Bank Rates on the term CD I selected continues to fall, pending their descression of when to fund.

I would agree that Discover Home Loans is waste of time. I would advise not to consider this company. They're not up front as to their lending criteria and lead you to believe all is ok later to deny the loan. Look at the reviews. Most give one star. If I could give a Zero star it would be more appropriate.

Using discover started out not so bad, it helped build my credit up some but if you ever get behind on payments they will screw you over & scam you into owing more money.
I am currently pregnant, I was out of work for the first few months due to unsafe working conditions while pregnant. It took me longer than expected to get started back at a job so my bills got behind. I have NEVER been late or behind on payments for anything until this point. Discover took absolutely no time to start threatening me with court due to missing a few payments. I spoke with an agent & agreed to a payment plan as I could not make the minimum payment that continued to grow. (They expected $600 a month for a 1,500 bill). They agreed to match my payments & set up 5 payments for $68 to get me current. I finished all them this month was never late but still charged a late fee. I have been given the excuse that it’s policy because the min payment wasn’t made every month (I’m guessing of the $600) but I made the agreed payments. I was NOT informed of these charges or the many others I have been charged. My total balance went up to $1,800 I’m now down to $1,300 but with my payments & not being charged the fees I was NOT told about I should be down to $1,000. I was literally scammed into taking a payment plan to rack up more money I would owe on late fees & other fees. This company is a joke. The fact that they do not give you all details of the payment plan & fees you will be charged regardless of on time payments is ridiculous. They also are not offering anything in return other than a “sorry you feel that way” “it’s our policy” and being told they will not credit the late fees.

Applied for a secure credit card, I have $1,000+ in cash and planned to put down $1,000 for the card as it would be used to pay my bills I already currently pay. I have a mortgage I split with my husband and have 2 other people who live here. I have a car loan which again, is split.
Apparently we have "too much credit" and they denied wanting my money because they don't want to overload me with credit?
So they basically told me they don't want my money. So maybe they shouldn't have anyone's money based on the reviews? I'll take my cash elsewhere to a company that WANTS the business I guess.

Per their website calculator I applied for a personal loan on 2/3/2023. See screenshot with my circumstances, I entered the amount I need, the length of time I needed and my credit score. they offered *****% APR, so i went ahead and provided all my personal information and was told that my APR was14%. I have an 855 credit score and very decent income, pay my CC on time and in full. I believe they either false advertise or discriminate. Then when I told them I was not interested and that please remove all my personal information from their website, they staff said she was not able and that I might be receiving advertising from other companies.

Discover it miles are advertised in an extremely disingenuous way. They advertise that you can redeem for 1% back OR get miles. You would assume that you redeem miles as miles of the flight itself, for instance 1 mile of Discover it miles is one mile in airfare. This is untrue, and instead it is still 1% back. The wording on the website is incredibly vague and purposefully made to trick users.
