An agent had convinced me that there was fraudulent activity on my account and then closed my account. As I waited for my replacement card to come, it never did and I called back. I was then told that the agent was mistaken, but I wont be getting another card because I was in a six month interest reduction period when it was closed so Im not eligible for a replacement card! I wrote to the ***** They did absolutely nothing but relay the complaint and then forward the companys response. The company acknowledged the agents ineptitude and heave apologized for my inconvenience but still insist that I wont be getting another card until they decide to allow me spending privileges again! Dont trust this company! Even when their agents s**** up, they dont take accountability and will ruin your credit by fraudulently closing your account at will! Ive been with Discover for about 15 years. Ive never once missed a payment!

I am the Executor of my mother's last will and testament. She had a Discover credit card that had a balance on it, over $600.00. I was unable to get to my mother's assets to pay off this account as I was in the process of of going through the probate process. All of this info was told to Discover when I had written to them as well as talked to them on the phone. What does Discover do. They put a block on my mother's assets until they got paid. So now I had *** pay out of my own money (which is not supposed to happen, as that is to come out of my mother's funds, not mine). That balance was paid in full in December 2022. I have the canceled check and a Discover Bank statement stating the account balance is $0.00. And when I paid it. I requested for the account to be closed and I want a letter stating the account was closed. What did I get, a letter from Discover dated 1/25/2023 stating I need to make a payment, does not say how much, but I need to call. I will be talking to my attorney about what to do about this corrupt financial institution. At a minimum is an apology and a letter stating the account is closed.

Hello - Back in June I was scammed online. I purchased the item with my Discover card and to my unfortunate surprise the item that came was a complete distraction from what I actually ordered. I ordered a pre-loved bag and a pair of used purple suede boots were delivered to my house. I tried reaching to discover and they told me to provide all the information supporting my claim which I did. They decided it wasn't a scam (even though it clearly was) The envelope the item came in literally read $10 in value for customs when the bag I ordered was well over $3,000.00. I have been calling and calling to no avail. No one seems to want to help me with this $4,100 scam. I just recently lost my father and had to cover the costs for the funeral and the last thing I need is for me to be fighting with a credit card company that is supposed to protect me, you know since they make money off of my transactions. When I refer back to the website, they send me back to discover. How is this possible that no one within the discover network can help me? Should I be reaching out to a news channel to get some help here. I am really upset, and I was clearly scammed, and I provided MORE than enough documentation to prove it as well as going to staples to pay per page for a fax since their website only allows 10 documents *** to upload for proof. This cannot be real life. This has to be a sick joke. I just sat on hold for about 25 minutes to be hung up on. INSANE...

I was told that because I withdrew a certain amount then a week later put the same amount in my account, my accounts would hold my funds for 10 days. I cant even close my account.

If you live in an area where packages get stolen, do not use Discover Card! I had a $150 package stolen. This package was supposed to be signed for to ensure it wasnt stolen. The delivery driver just left it out, never got a signature from me, and the package was stolen. I told Discover this, I even sent them an email from the delivery company ***** with a written apology from *** because the delivery driver operated outside of standard procedure. Discover still ruled against me and now Im paying $150 for a package I never got. So, if you live in the city or in a high traffic neighborhood or just have porch pirates, stay away from Discover!

Discover mailed me an invitation to explore a home equity load. The wording was misleading ( the interest rate on my loan would be the same as my current mortgage rate - not true)When I went to the website to 'see what amount I qualified for", a hard inquiry was made against my credit report, which will now lower my credit rating! And they offered me an interest rate ****% higher than my current mortgage rate! They adversely affected my credit rating, and I have no recourse. It was not made clear on the website that a my inquiry would result in a hit to my credit report.

I received a credit card offer from discover. I completed the process online. I promptly received notification that I was approved for a student card, at a students starting credit limit, here's the thing... I'm NOT A STUDENT! I am a retired professional, with over 30 years of stellar credit history. My credit score is 785, and I clear 6 figures annually. I contacted Discover to inform them of the error; customer service couldn't help. They forwarded me to another department who couldn't help. I then contacted the Consumer Advocate, spoke to a guy named *****, who said he would investigate the issue. This was a month ago!!! I have not heard a single word from him. Last week, I emailed the entire executive board, who in turn forwarded the email back to *****, who as of the date of this, I have not heard a word from . So, I cancelled the account, and I will never use discover for anything. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND ANY AND EVERYONE AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH this company.

I feel better after reading these reviews knowing now that I am not the only one who feels like they wasted time with this dishonest company. I was told my DTI ratio was too high and literally argued over the fact that they were calculating it wrong. I know how much money I get monthly. Having been a mortgage broker before I became disabled and owning my own mortgage company for many years, I should know how to calculate ratios but they wouldn't listen at all. Shady company didn't even get all my docs either. You can't have 20 people working on the same loan. Thanks Discover I'll close my credit card next.

Absolute worst experience ever! After months of collecting documents and even with a home free and clear, they could not move forward because they could not verify where the deposits into my checking account originated! After not accepting any other forms of deposits besides liquid, and based upon their own instructions, we cashed out an investment account for 10K then deposited 4K into a checking account. Because the investment withdrawal did not match the exact dollar amount of the deposit amount they were unable to move forward with the loan. I will never do or recommend anything from this ridiculous company and their ridiculous underwriters.

I am submitting this review of Discover Home Loans so you can be aware of all the issues I had went through and then after 4 months of submitting documents and resubmitting and resubmitting documents I was turned down, even though I have very good credit and a decent credit score. First off, after submitting all the documents they required, it seemed I had to submit them at least once more however most of the documents I had to submit at least three times, second, they kept switching personal on me, one week I would have one contact, then another week I would have another contact, this went on several times before I was finally turned down for a home equity loan, four months into the process. My equity value was more than triple what I was asking for in a home equity loan, when I was finally denied the loan, they indicated that someone would be contacting me to discuss the reason I was turned down, to date, no one has contacted me, I even sent them an email telling then I would like to receive a call, and I still have not received a call back.My recommendation to you, is to STAY away from Discover Home Loans and go to a legitimate lender, I am currently working with another lender and things are moving a lot quicker and I am treated with much more respect.I see most of the reviews here are negative, the few positive reviews I see, must be employees of DHL's. Don't waste your time with them.***************************
