4 days ago we had a conditional clear to close. Only two items needed a letter from our HOA stating paid in full and a bank statement showing our tax payment. Everything else was good. No phone call, just a note on our portal saying denied. Processor is not taking calls right now and we have not heard from our personal banker. We are nearly 2 months into this process have jumped through hoops, paid items off that they have requested etc. Ridiculous. I have more equity in my home than what we were looking for. What a waste of our time and energy. .

Discover doesn't stand behind its consumers. My discover card was used to pay for vehicle repairs at a dealership. Later on, finding out the dealership didn't do the repairs I submitted a dispute on the repairs. I even provided discover documentation on the issue. The scam artist dealership replied back with documents saying it was done at this time etc when it was never done at all. My documents submitted photos or pictures even support my case. The documents the dealership submitted have the wrong address, the wrong email, and not even my signature on the paperwork. I will no longer seek any kind of financial services through discover for as long as I live and going to liquidate all my discover stock.

Been a reliable company in the past but DISCOVER has really let me down and as I been reading reviews after another reviews on this company just keep getting worse. I have been with DISCOVER for years and they simply refuse to give me a well deserved credit line increase BUT they refuse and always have different criteria for the refusals and mostly don't even apply to my situation as they have a robot or computer decide if YOU are human enough to be responsible instead of hard core proof such as never late always on time and responsible pay history and ect. If you are doing everything correct and still get appreciated and or rewarded with more credit spending power then not sure what hoops and tricks in this circus they want us to do! This is certainly a stay away company for your credit card needs! Went to **************** and they treated me well with a starting credit line and open arms! DISCOVER has simply lost their good business antics and with kids literally young immature low paying customer service folks that simply don't care about anything but that paycheck at the end of the day. BOYCOTT DISCOVER!!!!! ANOTHER BANK THAT SHOULD GO BANKRUPT!

I have been with Discover card since ****. They have turned into a greedy nasty company who does not care about customer service. They violate credit regulations and they seem to get away with it. If you report them to the credit protection agencies, they lie and refuse to correct there mistakes. I had a situation with Mr. ******** that I was using to put up an awning over my outside entrance of my basement. The area needed to be covered because of water getting into the basement from storms. Mr. ******** did a horrible job. They also never finished the project and never got the proper permits to start the job, and since they never finished the work, they never got a Certificate of Occupancy that was required by the town. Mr. ******** had my credit card on file, and without authorization paid themselves for the unfinished project, and stole an extra $1500.00 dollars. When I found out that this ***** stole money from my Discover card, I reported them to Discover. Discover said this is a billing dispute problem and they want nothing to do with it. I told discover that they committed fraud on my account. Discover told me that is what you get for giving your credit card information to a merchant. Not only wont Discover Card correct this crime, they are sending me to collection for not paying the $1500.00 stolen money by the merchant. I refuse to be held hostage by these thugs. Discover Card has a reputation of siding with merchants, because that is where they get their money from. Every time you use your credit card, the merchant pays them a fee. You as the cardholder are actually paying the fee in the price of the purchase, but Discover looks at it like the merchant is making them money, so they protect them instead of the cardholder. They are destroying my perfect credit. They destroyed 32 years of our relationship since ****. they advertise that they are there to protect you as a consumer. Lies and more lies. It is all about the mighty dollar. If you want

Discover has made 4 mistakes that they need to address internally immediately. I had balance transfer check sent to Discover to payoff my card for 12k. There was randomly a 2k payment applied on ***** but i didn't see my payoff. i called to report that 2k payment wasn't mine. Then, a week later still no 12k payoff payment applied but i still saw the 2k payment. i called my new financial ****************** said DISCOVER CASHED the check on 10/19. I had no 12k payment applied!!!!! Discover said they'd put a temp credit to me for 12k until they find the check..Guess what? the next morning, only **** was my temp credit. Guess what else? the 2k payment that wasn't mine was still on there.I called Discover a total of 3 times to get all of this worked out- close to 2 hours of my time on their mistake. It finally took me reaching out to the BBB & filing a complaint for Discover to then FIND my 12k check, apply that payment. ***** i called to close my card & get my overpayment mailed to me.11.8 i logged in & saw my balance wasn't at ****, it was STILL at the overpayment balance.11.9 i spent 1 more hour of my time that i don't have to give to Discovers mitake & find out yes, my card was closed but NO they never issued my refund at all of my overpayment!!!!!ARE YOU KIDDING ME???????Don't trust Discover with your financial needs. I'm not sure what's happening behind the scenes, but i don't trust it. I encourage Discover to look at every rep who had something to do with my account all 4 times & find out if its system ************ need to revisit their system for errors or if its human error and retrain accuracy to those employees who all hand a hand in every mistake along the way. I had to leave 1 star, i was going to leave 0

Just found out you guys denied my application after all of that just because "you could not verify employment."Lol wow. The way yall were dragging your feet, it really seemed like you just didn't want to do it for some reason. So I guess you found a reason. All you gotta do is pick up the phone and call my employer. I've been with them for over five years. Gotten three bi-weekly paycheckssince starting this application. But that's ok. I'm good with beingdone with this. What a bad experience. Not even a call or anything to let me know. Just called to find out tonight. Like always, no one was available, had to go to a different processor.730 credit score, no bankruptcy, lots of home equity, everything going for this, and then DENIED-because you wouldn't contact my employer? Like that is my problem? recommend no one ever have to suffer through the two months I went through. thanks!

This drive by appraisal is a joke, we are over a month in and I get an email from the assistant to another assistant of our loan manager (you read that right) who told us the 3rd party appraiser valued our home over 60k less than the original numbers they ran. This put us over the *** to get the rate they quoted, they then pitched a new loan only 8k less than the original request but at an APR 2.5% higher. It was like a car salesman bait and switch. Real fishy timing with the Fed raising interest rates right before all of this. They said I can appeal the appraisal (all the work is on me) but again no actual appraiser is coming to my house, I have to fill out a form and send them 3 comps in my area that were sold in the last 6 months, and I have a 15% chance of getting it changed (quote from the banker). I get this is based on an appraiser and not Discover themselves but felt very upset that the guy I talked to acted like he could care less and I havent heard from the original banker I talked to. Just a very weird process.

Not sure what the previous issues with others were. Our home equity loan was funded in 5 weeks. Yes you have to be on top of providing requested information. You have to schedule appraisal quickly. You have to ensure any liens are taken care of on your house. Ensure taxes and pay stubs and employment verification is completed quickly. Yes you get passed on to a few associates but in the end they are all doing a different portion of the loan. Mine was >$100k loan on a 10 year term. Great rate. Discover pays for just about all costs associated (appraisal, title, closing, recording fees, other fees) at quite a significant cost so it wouldnt be a great business decision to not fund accounts. Just my two cents.

opened a dispute on August 2022 for a failure transaction and I provided sufficient documentation showing I already paid the transaction with another way ( through Zelle) and the PayPal transaction $3023.75 was a failure and I just quickly disputed and let both PayPal and discover know about it. From the day I opened this dispute case before it become closed and till now, I communicated with several agents from both discover and PayPal which is disappointing, PayPal refer me to Discover and Discover refer me to PayPal like an infinite loop without any results and both sides are not taking responsibility to secure my money.PayPal on September 02 deducted the money $3023.75 from merchant but never recalled to my credit account. Yesterday, I communicated with the supervisor of PayPal. He said because the dispute is opened out of PayPal on discover website, we cant secure your money and now the decision is made by financial institute of discover that the transaction is valid we cannot refund the money to your account and you cannot even open a dispute from our side now since you already opened a dispute from discover and discover made final decision. PayPal said we cant do anything for you. PayPal supervisor said: "You should directly reach out to merchant or go to court for this case."I have a big complaint on discover for the investigation decision that could not secure my money after more than three months and waste a lot of my time, energy and at the end is not compensating for this case. If the dispute is not functioning for the transaction is made by PayPal, why discover provide this option for customer to waste time and energy and at the end the money of customer will be unsecured? If the dispute option will work for this case why customer should communicate with merchant to provide a letter that guarantees the money will back to account? What if the merchant is scam or fraud and the customer does not have access to merchant for communication?
