This supposed debt collector bought a fraudulent debt in my name from almost 20yrs ago. The statue of limitation is 5yr.s. I informed the bank way back then that being THEY cashed a check without doing the 3 day hold, since it was over a certain amount, it was not my fault being a Scammer scammed me, having me cash a seemingly legit check which I called the number on the check to verify and the person on the other end verified the check sequence numbers etc that matched the check, the Bank Teller also called the number to verify it was a legit check. Only about 6 mo.s AFTER Vystar cashed the check then they contacted me telling me it was fraudulent which I knew nothing about until they told me. So I am NOT responsible for this debt. Contact the Teller that cashed it and didn't do the 3 day hold.Business Response

I was reviewing my credit report and there was a collection from steel river for Vystar credit union I called and spoke to a woman who helped me settle the account and I paid with my debit card on July 5th, 2023. I have been checking my credit report and it is still showing on there. I would like it removed now the account is paid in full and cleared. Do not say that you are not reporting it on my credit report because I check it every day and it is there, and I have screen shot proof to back my claim up and also bank records showing I paid in full with my debit card which has cleared the bank. I expect the same quick response to removing this from my credit report as it didn't take you long to put this collection on my credit report.Business Response

Personal information was stolen over 20 years ago and accounts were opened. I have the police report showing it was not me or my handwriting that opened these accounts. All accounts were closed based on this. I took these police reports to vystar since I attempted to open a current account there and wanted to make sure they had proof of all old accounts not belonging to me. Suddenly now I get this company reaching out about the 20 year old debt when my lawyer has already handle this 20 years ago. ****** called me and over talked me and was evasive when I asked for contact information. Receiving letters and daily calls without leaving a voice mail to illegally try to collect an alleged debt for some old VyStar account that they admit is outside the statute of limitations. The issue is that I havent had a Vystar account probably in over 10+ years and have never been contacted about a debt. I need to be removed from these communications. Received letter from Steel River Systems, LLC that there was a security breach, ( incident # B079221) and some of my personal information may have been compromised. in as much as this company is a collection agency. I wrote them back Certified Mail, and requested the following info: 1) the company or firm that provided my personal & company information to Steel River (2)Thge reason Steel River was in possession of my personal & company information 93) method of security they utilize to protect my personal information(4) method of security utilized to protect my company information.
