I was a customer of Diamond State Sanitation, which LRS took over in January or February. I received no notice of when the change in provider took place. I had paid Diamond State $344.28 on January 17 to cover the entire cost of the upcoming year's service. LRS cashed that check, which cleared my bank on February 28. Since then, I have received monthly bills from LRS, although I should have a credit. I have tried to contact LRS every month since, either by phone (where no one answers the call and the mechanism to leave a message never allows me to actually leave a message), by letter (sent to their ******** post office box, dated June 26), or by email (sent to ****************** on July 25). Two times in the past 7 months, I have reached a human being by phone, who checked my account, supposedly made notes about my complaint, and agreed that I did not owe LRS any money at the present. However, I continue to receive invoices, and now these invoices indicate that I am in arears for more than 90 days, and my August invoice says I owe $179.68. I should still have a credit! What do I need to do to get their bookkeeping department to correct this error? I have excellent credit and do not want it ruined.In addition, there was an unannounced price increase in July, which I did not appreciate, especially since I have seen LRS's solicitation for new customers, offering them a year's service for $225. Since they cashed my check for $344.68 in February, I should be way ahead!Business Response

I conplent the contact on 7/24/23 and they started the servies on 7/28/23 they did not pick up till 8/1/23 the only reason i see that i dont need to be charge for the pro rated charges is becase my mom and sister had done paid a full month on it it is like they are trying to get paid 3 time for the days on the pro raterd i am only sppost to be charged ***** monthly plus fuel surcharge and sales taxs i have put a copy of my contractBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because: They come and got it monday i do not see were i need to pay the prorated amount becase the saleman that set it up said they were going to waive the prorated amount and never did and i talked to someone in the ********* ******** office and they looked over the contact and it did not say anything about a admin fee to be charged i dont see were i should have to pay the amount for them to come pick it up becase it was not becase of my falut for it to have to be picked up it was becase they would not work with me to make it work out on the locatyon of the dumpster . On 05/08/23 we mailed our check for $87 to *** which owns ******** ********************************** They were providing trash/recycling service to us. The payment of $87 was for 3 months of service June, July, August. We discovered that they had increased our rates with no prior communication. Via social media we also discovered that they were taking our recycled items directly to the landfill. *** discontinued providing a recycling service that they were charging us for. After shopping our services, we decided to move to another provider. On June 26, I contacted their office and informed them that we were cancelling. They informed me that my account was prepaid for 2 months. I asked them to please mail my refund of approximately $58.00. *** Michiana Recycling was to pick-up my cart on July 24. I called Michiana Recycling on July 25th and again and asked them to pick up their cart. Pick-up did take place on 26th after my call. During the same conversation, on the 25th with ****** in their office, I indicated that it had been approximately 30 days since cancellation and I had still not received my refund of $58 for prepaid service not used. ****** indicated that they would NOT be refunding my $58. She indicated that they do not refund small amounts on prepaid serviced that are cancelled. I informed her that back on June 26, when I cancelled the service, I was informed that a refund check was being mailed. She indicated that refunds can only come with management approval. I asked her to have someone from management call me. ****** indicated that I would receive a call within 2 days. It is now 2 weeks later and no one has called. I also asked for a copy of anything in their file, with my signature that states that prepayments would not be refunded upon cancellation. I have received no proof. I am asking for your help in helping me get my prepaid $58 that is due back to me from them. A million dollar business is ripping off a senior citizen for $58.Business Response

We pay them to pick up our recycling items and everyone in our area keeps getting missed. They collect our money, but they do not fulfill the service. This has happened multiple times within the past year.Business Response

This company took over another firm last year. At the time of takeover billing was done in the middle of the 3 month cycle. This company changed from mid cycle to the beginning of the cycle and being a 70 year old widow on social security-, I continued to pay at the end of the middle month of the cycle. Now I received bill for a $3.00 finance charge and the transfer was made as soon as I received my social security check. I have alwsys paid for services after they are provided and will not be charged when a company takes a whim to change polices to hurt the elderly. This is very discrimatory.Business Response

LRS merged with Diamond State/Ramco Waste which my mom had an account with. Check #**** in the amount of $307.92 was made on 1/4/23 to Diamond State. The first of February 2023 LRS sent a letter announcing the merge. Then invoice#AM6656 dated 2/28/23 for $25.65 arrived! She called and *** said they had received her payment of $307.92 and not to pay the invoice. Here we are 5 months later, and the invoices are steadily coming with the last being June 2023 in the amount of ******! I have stepped in to help her and have called the central ******** location at least 7 times, leaving 3 messages and no one will answer or return my call. I then went to the corporate level and reached *** at ********************, and she asked for 24 hours to get back to me. 48 hours later I leave another message; no return call. 72 hours later we are on repeat! My mom has cancelled the service with LRS as of two weeks ago because of substandard service in picking up her trash. 2-3 weeks would pass, and her trash never got picked up until she made a phone call to do so. I now expect customer service to contact me immediately and verify service has been cancelled and we expect a refund for 6 months in the amount of $153.96, (We should be asking for a FULL refund). I cannot believe this company has an A+ rating after reading all the complaints, (which I understand does not affect the rating, but it should). 1.5 out of 5 stars says it all. An apology would also be nice because my mom is 84 years old, and the frustration of having such bad customer service and waiting months for a resolution should not be happening!Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:First, I want to thank Lakeshore for finally responding, but I am rejecting due to the fact that no credit has been issued nor received!! So, until my mother is satisfied with the outcome, we will keep this issue open for as long as it takes. Like I said previously, this has been an ongoing problem for 7 months now and we are ready to finalize everything so everyone can move forward.

I received my quarterly and noticed a past due amount. I called LRS and reached someone named *** at extension *****. After much digging he saw that they had charged me an additional fee on two prior bills for $10 and then charge me late fees for the two $10 charges. I asked him why and he said additional services. I told him that I had never authorized additional services and they cannot arbitrarily charge me without an explanation and acceptance. he agreed and promised to work it out and call me back. He never called me back so I followed up with another call and had to go through the entire explanation again. He explained that he could only credit me for up to $50 and would write it up and get back with me later that day. Of course he never called me back and now I have to make a third call to this guy and explain it all over again. This should be a simple process but this guy seems to make promises to get you off the phone and hope you go away and not follow-up. Horrible customer service!Business Response

My yard waste has been missed since the start of summer season. I have contacted the business on multiple occasions for resolution. This week July **** I have called them on 3 different occasions with no resolution and my yard waste was still not picked up after they scheduled a missed pick up. We use LRS for garbage, recycling and yard waste services.We called in May to sign up for yard waste and were informed that the process had changed from a seasonal charge, to stickers stickers placed on bags or cans and a call ahead to schedule pick up. I purchased approx $45 of stickers from ******** office -we had a spring yard clean up of almost 1.5 acres. This worked for 2 weeks.On the 3rd week we called for pick up for the Friday and were scheduled. They didn't come. We called the next day and filled out the online missed pick up form and were told by a staff member they would pick it up Wednesday. No pick up.We called the next day and were put on the schedule for Friday (the usual day) We had 8 stickers worth of yard waste in cans and bags They didn't come.We called again and were informed that they would be in the area on Monday....No pick up.Then my husband called and was told that they would no longer be doing pick up in our area.I called the next day and spoke with the staff member in ******** who sold me the stickers, and explained that I understood that they would no longer pick up the yard waste in the future, but that they had agreed to pick up my trash and sold me the stickers for 2 weeks in which they were no shows and even agreed to a make up pick up day and should pick up the yard waste sitting out there for 3 weeks. She agreed and said that a supervisor would call me with a special pick up. date.I waited almost 2 weeks.I called again twice- one person told me that they would not pick up the waste but would reimburse me for the stickers and my trouble- I told her that I am a 64yr old and this won't work, she forwarded me to a supervisor at ext.10359 (no name on the **** I left a message requesting call back and suggested that since I am 2 blocks from ************ (full yard pick up) that they send a truck from there for a one time pickup. The second person I spoke with stated she understood and that supervisor ***** was working on it.Business Response
