We bought a camper a little over 2 years ago and the roof started leaking. Filed a warranty claim and was told it wasnt due to any defect but due to lack of routine maintenance. We have no info from Forest River or ******* ***** (where we purchased the camper) and have not been notified of any maintenance due. The seal is basically cracking and falling off. They advised us to contact our insurance.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/14/2023

We are sorry to hear of this concern.  Forest River records show that the manufacturers warranty expired on May 16, 2022. Weve reviewed pictures sent which indicate no seal maintenance has been performed on your unit. Per ownersmanual provided at time of purchase, the seals are to be inspected and resealed every six months. This information is located under the care and maintenance section of the manual. As a goodwill gesture we will allow any parts needed at no charge but no labor

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/14/2023

I am rejecting this response because:
I have contacted several repair companies and the labor cost is the majority of the repair. I would be willing to consider this complaint corrected for  the estimated repair cost of the roof only. The cost is approximately $2000. I feel that this is a fair middle ground for both parties involved.

We bought a Riverstone camper from the original owner last year. The cause of the fire has been determined to be a fault in the power cord reel inside the camper supplied and installed by Forest River ************* **** We have researched and found NUMEROUS incidents where other ** owners have had similar occurrences with ************ reels even providing photos of the reel contacts right before fire. While in our possession, the ** only had one trip and only used the reel twice as it has been sitting stationary since bringing it home. Neither Glenndinning, the reel manufacturer, nor Forest River Inc., provided any discretionary notifications, nor warning stickers or recalls about this extremely dangerous potential for fire due to the power reel. I have found that ************ was more than aware of this risk as they replaced the reels when customer's contacted them prior to fires as far back as 2015. The fire damage at the reel site was so extensive, I can not provide any serial number. I've reached out to ********************** and have not heard back from them. Our ** was not yet insured as the camper was not going to be used for traveling yet. A family pet was lost in the fire and the camper itself lost the entire back end and smoke damage traveled throughout the entire camper. If necessary, I can provide links to the forums detailing the malfunction in other's **'s. It doesn't allow me to add more photos but can do that upon request.

However, the response from the company said they were sending an investigator, but there hasn't been any investigator sent out.  I thought I needed to wait until they came out before I accepted their response. We bought Forest River 29vbud in June of 2022 at Zoomers, in *******. We had to bring it back the first week, then had numerous problems with it the following several weeks while visiting my daughter in *******. While at Zoomers, we were informed that the unit was made at a factory that was called the covid one. Meaning everything that came out of it was a disaster. Ours actually came from there. We were told by several service mechanic that it was poorly made and it was falling apart. That we should definitely get our money back. Even the salesman told us that we would get our money back because of the condition it is in. The service department blew us off, then Forest River did take it to service it, however, everything they said they repaired is still not repaired. It is still a falling apart and we have been trying to be patient with them. The shower still leaks, the panels that was so called fixed, are just hanging underneath with screws that don't attach to anything. The paneling is ripped throughout, the ceiling is falling in, the floor has ripples in it, and soft spots where it shouldn't. The one wall where the shower leaked out is damaged and most likely had water damage. There is so much more. We want our money back and we do not want to deal with this any longer. We feel we are being taken advantage of, we are on a fixed income, and they know we cannot afford a lawyer, however, we know that the Better Business Bureau will work on our defense as much as possible and truthfully. I am a Minister and I will not lie, this has caused nothing but heartache for me. Please help!

We are sorry to hear this, however we cannot respond to dealer or their employees statements without actual names to verify.
As for unit we show that there was a list of items repaired on May 2,2023 and the unit went through a pre delivery inspection before return shipment. Upon arrival we understand there were some issues, which we responded to by sending a crew to assist. We are very willing to stand behind the warranty and if we could receive list to review, we will be glad to determine how we can help to resolve.

I am rejecting this response because:
The so called repairs that were done, were not done, and they actually sent the repairman out again to the place where the trailer is. The repairs they are talking about did not get repaired, as to what tge complaints are. The vinyl floor is actually coming up, all the cabinets are peeling,  the screen door is falling off, the panels the floor up are fraying, the ceiling is falling panels are dropping, and I could go on and on. Every day there is something new that is falling apart or coming undone. This trailer is purely a lemon. We want a full refund

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/15/2023

I am rejecting this response because:
They would need to take apart the entire trailer.  The walls, the trailer,  the floor, ceiling, the door, the cabinets, etc. The roof that they so called fixed,  the glue is bubbling, the side panels are bubbling up, under belly looks like it falling out. They said it was not supposed to have any support, so it just hangs. Very badly put together.  We want a full refund.

Forest River respects the thoughts of our customers however we strongly disagree there are major structural issues and have verified that this unit is well within recreational vehicle standards. Customer Answer

      Date: 08/22/2023

I am rejecting this response because:
We disagree with the Forest River company as per their last correspondence.  For it would have to be taken apart from top to bottom. If they are actually willing to replace the entire unit, roof, walls, cabinets,  **********, then it seems fruitless for us to be without our unit. We have been inconvenienced enough.  We have been stressed beyond comprehensive,  and this should not have to be taking place any longer.  This unit will not last long enough to even  a year from now without falling apart.  We haven't had it not even two years and it's is falling apart. What will we have in three years.  How dare them say they sold us a up to par unit. It is not, and we do not deserve have to be left with what was never should have been sold to us in the first place. It was never a good unit in the first place. Er want a full refund.

      Customer Answer

I reached out to Forest River information.  The person *********************** is a service manager.  We had been in constant communication with ***************** over the past 5 months to no avail. We arr very upset that they are not going to keep going through the service department,  we already went through this.  We have asked numerous times that to talk someone in upper management after so called repairs, and we said they needed to refund us. Now they are still trying to **** us off to the service management.

They said it was normal. In the meantime.  These panels have fallen off twice,  and it's only been on the road twice.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/07/2023

Customer satisfaction is important to **********************. We remain committed to our customers and will diligently work toward alleviating any concerns they may have about their unit.
Forest River has done a full inspection of this unit and sincerely disagrees that there are any major structural issues with it. We have verified and documented that this customers unit is well within recreational vehicle standards.
We have listened to and addressed the customers repair needs respectfully and professionally and performed warrantable repairs to the best of our ability in accordance with the Forest River Limited Warranty. A listing and images of any additional concerns was requested of the customer because to our understanding the ********************** needs cited have been completed previously and the images that Forest River currently has do not reflect the depth of repairs needed as described by the customer in this forum. There are no open warranty claims associated with this unit at the moment. Warranty extension has been offered but refused for demands of replacement or repurchase, which Forest River is unable to do.
Forest River believes we have done all we can to assist at present as there are no substantial issues with this unit to the best of our knowledge.

This letter is in reference to complaint ******** concerning a 2022 Coachmen Cross Trail purchased from Reliable Imports & Motorhomes in ***********, ** on September 1, 2022.
The customer first contacted ********************** about warranty issues on February 7, 2023 at which time they were provided with a list of servicing dealerships authorized to provide service for Coachmen products near their home in ********, **. As these were not the selling dealers, the customer found it difficult to locate a dealership that would be willing to provide service on a product they did not sell. Our warranty representative worked with the customer to find a dealer that would perform service on their unit with the agreement that the customer would pay the invoice for work and Coachmen RV would then reimburse them. We acknowledge that it did take some time to complete all of the requested repairs however, the customer has since expressed their satisfaction with the work and only recently indicated that they were unsatisfied with the unit as a whole. The Warranty Representative for this particular brand has reached out as recently as this morning to discuss any concerns the customer currently has. As of the time this correspondence was sent to the BBB, the customer has not responded.
Customer satisfaction is our number one goal and we welcome the opportunity to rectify these issues in a timely manner to the satisfaction of the customer. We encourage the customer to contact our Warranty Representative for the Cross Trail brand, ******************* at ************ or ********************************* to discuss a resolution to this matter.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions regarding this issue or any future concerns you may have.

This letter is in reference to the rejection of the Coachmen RV response to complaint ******** re: 2022 Coachmen Cross Trail.
Coachmen RV stands behind their product and welcomes the opportunity to alleviate any concerns the customer may have with this unit. There has been an issue reported with the generator however, that is a component that is not covered under the Forest River Limited Warranty and the customer has been given the information to contact ****, the manufacturer of the component to file a claim under their warranty.
As stated in the last correspondence from the customer, the ********************** Limited Warranty has not yet expired and we are ready to address any warrantable issues the customer may have with their product to ensure it is within industry standards.

Purchased a 2023 Forest River Grey Wolf CKT25RR camper VIN# ******** from **************************** 08/2022. Returned unit to dealership 8 months later; 04/2023, still under warranty, for minor repairs. Dealer claims unit had several Manufacturer; Forest River defective issues such as missing hose clamps from tanks which caused excessive black mold on underbelly. Dealer submitted claim to Manufacturer-Forest River to repair same- In addition Manufacturer/dealer claims fresh water tank was overfilled causing tank to balloon. Manufacturer-Forest River denied claim suggesting customer negligence. The freshwater tank was never used by customer as city water was only source of water. Had the unit been installed properly with overflow valves and venting it would be physically impossible to overfill tank with a 30psi hose.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/03/2023

We have had the opportunity to review the claim in reference again.
Based on the photos provided, this has been denied as misuse or damaged.
We do not feel that this was damaged intentionally however, the pictures indicate that this freshwater tank was overfilled.
We sympathize with the customer; however, this claim is going to remain denied.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/03/2023

I am rejecting this response because:
Forest River has rubber stamped all claims as 'DENIED' submitted by dealership; in spite of the fact that many issues were clearly Manufacturer defects. Forest River refuses to share pics and provide amicable response as to how a tank can be overfilled when all tanks should have an overflow valve. A properly installed overflow valve would have prevented overflow condition.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/09/2023

We appreciate the opportunity to clarify the steps we have taken to prevent this issue from happening.
This unit was equipped with tank sensors that indicate when the tank is full.
Also provided is documentation of how many gallons each tank installed in the unit will hold.
Overflow vents are standard on our tanks. However, when a tank is continuously filed beyond its limits with water, it can still result in damage. Respectfully, this claim will remain denied.

We are sorry for the situation, however after review Forest River again finds no evidence of a manufacturing defect.  As warranty covers manufacturing defects, and having found none in this case, we are unable to provide warranty coverage.

We purchased a new 2023 *********************** Pro 19FD travel trailer built by Forest River on8/15/2022, vin# ***************** at a cost of $36,234.47 from ******** ***, ************ North in *******. We have not been able to use the camper as intended because the refrigerator will not get cold enough to store food. The freezer works well but the refrigerator won't get below 47 degrees F. After a long wait time at the repair shop Forest River approved replacement of the refrigerator with the exact same make and and model (Everchill 12volt 3.5 cu). We had to buy a dorm refrigerator to take with us which takes up the space needed to put down the ******* bed. Now we no longer have a bed of recliners to use. The new refrigerator won't get below 50 degrees F. The folks at ******* *** repair shop have told us it's technology that's not ready yet but they're hands are tied. We contacted Forest River and they blamed ******'s Inn. They sent us a list of other repair shops and expected us to contact one of them and ask if they would do the warranty work. The right side trailer brake seized when we took delivery and started to smoke. After 10 miles we had to return to the shop and wait another week until parts could be shipped. One of the windows opens by itself as we travel down the road allowing weather in. The floor is soft and squeaky indicating a water leak or improper installation. The door latch makes it extremely difficult to open the door. The CO detector goes off randomly when the gas is turned on, so we cannot use the stove, oven, or outside grill. The door is warped and doesn't seal, allowing bugs to crawl in. We have reported all of these things and more and have kept extensive records of everything. The warranty expires soon and we haven't been able to use the camper as intended. We need it repaired and paid for loss of use, or a refund. There are 10 more line items of repairs not yet made. All supporting documents and photographs are available upon request.

Yes, they have been in communication with **; however, the ** is not repaired and we were advised by the dealer that the parts have just started to come in after over six months of waiting. We still cannot use the ** and the warranty is expiring soon.  Without being able to use the **, we don't know what else may be in need of repair before the warranty expires.

We have spoken to both the dealership and retail customer to make sure that everyone is up to date on the situation.  Discussed with both dealership and retail customer that unit can be largely ************************ with the parts that have been delivered to the dealership so that customer is able to use trailer for trip.  When the customer is ready, they can take the unit in for the repair to the entry door.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/19/2023

I am rejecting this response because:

Yes, this is true.  Most of the parts are in.  We received a call from the dealer and we were told the balance of the parts should be in next week and to wait for their call.  Until then, we do not have a fully functioning RV.

I purchased a 2022 Forest River Toy Hauler 294RR from **************** in ******* **. Our first trip, 14 hours from home, second night ever- We plugged in at the ** park- immediate sparks and flames shot out from underneath. Thankfully, the entire thing did not burn down; my kids were inside. We were, however, 14 hours from home with a burned and shorted-out camper late at night on a holiday. In addition, the kitchen faucet was snapped in half at the pipe, we had never even used it. The battery fails to charge unless plugged in, leaving everything completely dead and unworkable when you arrive anywhere- you can't even level the hitch. The shower leaks profusely around the walls and door frame. Most recently, a cabinet door fell off the cabinet, and the refrigerator quit working mid-trip. It just quit cooling in the middle of the night. We woke to warm food and had to throw everything away. We initially brought it in for warranty work after the fire. The cause was wiring pinched when the camper was put on the frame- when the large pinched cord was removed, it left the trailer unlevel. The battery still doesn't charge, even though they "fixed it." The solar doesn't work and is incorrectly wired. The shower still leaks. I suspect the refrigerator isn't cooling due to more wiring issues or being unlevel, but somehow I guarantee it won't be covered. After the fire, I told the dealer I wanted to talk to a Forest River representative. They told me I had to go through them and couldn't allow me to go to Forest River directly. I was told they could repair it and nothing further was needed. I bought a new camper that almost burned down the second night in it- but I was just supposed to be ok with it. Winter passes, we take it out, and the refrigerator quits. You have to be kidding me. It's bad enough that I already fear burning alive in a new, wrongly wired camper I was told to live with. This has been a lemon from day one.
