I purchased my camper new at *** ******* RV in August ****. During the first few months I noticed some issues. I called in January about getting some repairs made, they said to drop it off. I dropped it off January 15, 2022. I had asked that the main entry door water leak be repaired, battery was bad, landing gear would not lift camper from truck, and the reverse camera was inop from day 1. I would inquire monthly with no report. Of repairs or diagnosis. April I picked it up because they would not answer if the leaking door was being shielded from the weather. They replaced the battery and ordered a door. July 7, I finally got the door replaced. They made it worse. Door would not shut, Screen door was binding, and the door casing was bowed. They also blew off the other issues that were not fixed. I never received any paperwork either time. I contacted Forest Rivers Cherokee ***************** on July 11 and have all exchanges from then till now. They advised me to go to another certified service center and they supplied a list. One center said they do not take on new clients that did not purchase there. So I found ******** and they said they would take care of it. I dropped it off August 7 and explained that I needed it by Sept 7 for a trip. 2 weeks went by and I reached out. My text went ignored. I sent them another message on the 6th and they replied to that, that they need it to the end of the day. My camper never moved there till after September 2. When I arrived on the 7th, nothing was fixed and somehow they damaged my hitch. It has been 8 months since the first drop off, 4 months out of my possession, screen door came too loose that I had to remove it, and my camper cannot be lifted off my truck without a floor **** and a ***** to release hitch. I work at a high end car dealer and I know this would not be ok if we had a customers car for 4 months or if they had issues for 8 months that were not fixed. high res ***** private at ****************************

************* has been contacted and they are willing to help us with this if they can get parts.

We purchased our 2022 Forest River Cherokee 26DBH in 2021. Since then we have had multiple issues. Besides the severe lack of quality issues inside, the following has happened:- the slide electric panel broke - had to override to slide - the electric panel malfunctions - the fireplace turns off if we use the microwave - the external plug trips the breaker if used - the underbelly is bowed so terribly that the insulation is showing - the floor by the slide in disintegrating/ bowing terribly - the entry floor is bowing now, effecting use of the door We have contacted the company we purchased it from, but they do not call us back. We were also told when I called Forest River to ******** my issues" to fix them. I am afraid that the issues with my unit will continue to worsen, and I cannot get any answers about how to go about fixing the defects with the camper. I cannot tow my camper currently, nor can I get the company to respond to my calls or emails regarding my issues.

My husband and I purchased a 2022 Forest River Grey Wolf in April 2022 from ******* ***** on ***** **** Road in ********, **. The day we picked it up, the service manager informed us that the outside kitchen door had been damaged and a replacement door had been ordered. The service manager reassured us that the door would be secure enough to travel. Two weeks after picking up our camper, we were on our way to a campground 3 hours from home when the outside kitchen door flew off on a four-lane highway. Fortunately, the door didn't hit any vehicles. We contacted ******* ***** of ******** and their exact words, 'you gotta be ******** me." Due to the door flying off, the refrigerator opened and we lost all of our food and drinks that were in there plus items on the counter. We tried to enjoy our camping trip for the next 4 days. On the way home, it poured rain and the outside kitchen was soaked by the time we got home. The cherry cabinets had swelled up with water and the back wall of the kitchen began to separate. We made arrangements with ******* ***** to bring in the camper to survey the damage. They refused to admit they were at fault. They kept our camper to replace the outside kitchen door. Upon replacing the door, they damaged the refrigerator doors and tried to cover it up by using a scouring pad to remove the scratches and dents. They then tried to blame the damage when the door blew off. We took pictures when we dropped it off and the frig was not damaged. Our issues now are that both entry doors have to be slammed to shut due to the damage when the outside kitchen door was replaced. Our scissor jacks were also damaged and bent so we have to use a floor jack to level out the camper. We have not been able to use our camper for the intended trips that we had planned. We contacted Forest River and have not had any better luck with them. We are still paying for the camper and extended warranty but are unable to enjoy our planned trips for the fear of more damage.

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:  Forest River contacted us but only to give us a list of other camper dealerships that service Forest River. We made no agreement to the repairs and we do not have a direct line to contact. We are tired of being pushed aside or ignored by ******* ***** and Forest River. We just want a *********** that we can enjoy for many years. We don't want to have to worry if something else is gonna fly off or break. If we cannot resolve these issues in a timely manner, then we will be forced to take further actions. It's ridiculous that we are paying for a camper, along with extra insurance, and we cannot use it like it we should.

I have purchased cargo mate trailer manufactured by forest river. Its 2022 trailer that was manufactured with nails sticking out of the side of the trailer facing all four tires of the trailer. This has caused two blow outs causing damage to my trailer and truck. So far forest river has declined any assistance even though I provided all the evidence of their negligence. I want repairs to be completed and losses to be covered! PS Also theres long screw sticking out of the bottom of the trailer, making it a hazard for getting underneath the trailer for Any repairs!

      Hi,

thank you for getting back to me. Sorry, I totally forgot to provide that. But here it is:Cargo Mate 16 trailer VIN#*****************.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/09/2022

Forest River has investigated the customer reported concerns using the photos provided.  The photos do not show visible tears on the tires caused by any screw, nail, or sharp object.  The photos do indicate that the tire blew from the top.  Forest River provides a one year Limited Warranty to the original purchaser.  Our records indicate that the current owner is not the original purchaser.  Additionally, there were zero reported issues with the cargo trailer while covered under the one year Limited Warranty. Forest River politely declines assistance with payment for losses.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/12/2022

I am rejecting this response because: warranty has nothing to do with manufacturing negligence/defects of screw/nails sticking out right next to the tires and I placed where they should pose any danger!! They should not be there to begin with. Tires on the trailer and trailer itself are brand new with no reason to explode. The fact that nails/screws are there is proof of negligence by your company very respectfully!! Talking to one of your other departments I was told that those nails should be  normally removed before final completion! Pictures clearly show that nails are right next to the tires and any deviation of the tire by hitting a pot hole or driving over a bridge would cause the tire to hit that nail. Thats exactly what happened In my case!! The fact that those nails/screw are there shows neglect on your part!!! Even if due to bad road conditions or otherwise for any reason tire ends up hitting the wall of the trailer it should not be exploding due to nails sticking out of the wall of the trailer. With your negligence what you have done is hazard to life and property!!!

      Business Response

      Date: 09/15/2022

Forest Rivers Limited Warranty covers manufacturing defects to the original purchaser and is non-transferrable.  As stated previously Forest River's records do not show the current customer as the original purchaser.  There are zero reported issues from the original purchaser for this unit during the first 12 months of being in service.   Additionally, per Forest Rivers Limited Warranty: Warrantor makes no warranty with regard to tires, tubes, batteries, routine maintenance, equipment and appliances. Some of these items may be warranted by their respective manufacturers and suppliers.  Warranty information with respect to these items is available from your dealer.  With no warrantable issues being presented at this time Forest River declines participation with reimbursement.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/15/2022

I am rejecting this response because:

No issues was reported by original owner due to the fact he never used the trailer/loaded it to any capacity! When I purchased the trailer it was in like new condition which seller will confirm!! In any event there should have never been any nails facing the tires but it looks like taking any responsibility for own actions is not part of your business and class action lawsuits is the only thing you can understand! Im very confident that theres plenty of people that had their tires blow up due to nails on the side of the trailer facing their tires that you told them wasnt covered under warranty and for them to get lost I hope BBB will take appropriate actions against you! I will be also notifying ****************** your parent company of your negligence and how you deal with responsibility, good luck to you defending yourself in light of such negligence!!

My husband and I bought a brand new 2022 Forest River travel trailer on July 15, 2022 and the first night we tried to sleep on the sleeper sofa it was impossible. The sleeper sofa is defective and I sent numerous pictures which Forest River has made no attempt to try to resolve this issue with us. I was barely able to walk after attempting to sleep on the sofa sleeper, we spent 73,000$ on this travel trailer so we could have our family vacation with us and the bed is unusable.

We have reviewed the pictures that were sent to us from this customer as well as discussed their concern with them.  We have no evidence of a defect with the sleeper sofa in this unit but it seems that the customer is not happy with the design of this sofa. If we had evidence of a defect with the sofa we would have that addressed but we would not be able to offer participation with replacing the sofa because they are not happy with the design.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/12/2022

I am rejecting this response because:

We are not happy with the sofa sleeper because it is defective and we are not able to sleep on it therefore Forest River should replace it, they boost how they sell quality RVs and want to make there customers happy so they should back that up.  We have had many RVs and have NEVER had any problems like this.  Forest River is so disappointing.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/15/2022

We are sorry that the customer is unhappy with the comfort of the installed sofa in their travel trailer.  Forest River's Limited Warranty allows for the repair of manufacturing defects in material or workmanship.  The sofa in this unit is the same sofa that is installed in all units of that model.  It is Forest River's belief that the customer had opportunity to see the unit, perform a walk-through and a demonstration of the unit prior to purchase.  From the information provided to us from the customer there is not a warrantable issue with the sofa.   If there is additional information or there are photos showing a manufacturing defect, Forest River could then work towards a resolution.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/15/2022

I am rejecting this response because:

I have sent many pictures showing the defects its not as we could have taken the bed out for a test ride.  It is also not that we dont like the design its that you cannot sleep in it.  Forest River should do much better considering what we paid.  If you need me me to submit the pictures please let me know.

4-8-2022 had a blowout on 2019 trailer tire, on way back **** had another blow. The technician said the tires were old that is why it was happening. He showed me dates on the tires . I still have the spare tire to prove it, so I replaced replaced 3 tires. still on way home heard noises from trailer axels. Took to ******************* on **** and they said parts of brakes fell off scarred inside of brake drum. Had to replace drum and backplate. Also had to replace other side so trailer would brake evenly. After looking over trailer paperwork I found a 3 year warranty on trailer axles. Contacted *********************** ************, ********************************* Put in claim as was told because I did not call at the time and let them send parts they may not pay. On 7-13-2022 Sent in requested papers photos, and receipts for repair. I was 500 miles away from home so I paid the charges to get home. Nowhere on paperwork does it say I need to wait for parts. Waited about 3 weeks with no response from ************. So I left phone messages and email with no response. I reached a secretary at the company and told them I had been getting no response. The next day I spoke to ******* and he stated again that the people who pay had not responded. I asked for the phone number to the place ************** and called on August 12, 2022 myself they said ******* had only turned in the claim the night before. I called and emailed ******* to see if it was true and to this day he is still not responding. Can Your HELP?

      Business Response

      Date: 09/08/2022

The Forest River Limited Warranty applies to the purchase of a Forest River product for the first year of ownership and, in this instance had expired 11 months prior to the first tire issue. Additionally, axle and tire warranties are provided by their manufacturers* ****** **** and ************************, are expressly excluded from the Forest River Limited Warranty. Had this incident occurred during our warranty period, we would have readily facilitated the repair to be made by the manufacturer(s). However, due to the timeframe outside of our warranty period, the customer had been advised to communicate directly with manufacturers of the components for reimbursement of repairs. The manufacturers of the components have also been encouraged to communicate directly with the customer. Further involvement by ********************** in the communication between the customer and the manufacturer only serves as an interference and prolongs the resolution of this issue.

If the customer has additional facts supporting *********************** involvement in the issue at hand, he is welcome to submit the information and it will be reviewed to determine whether our interference is warranted. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further questions regarding this issue or any future concerns you may have.

On 06/30/2022 I purchased a 2022 Coachman Freelander 26DS by Forest River from General **. Since that purchase the ** has been in the service center for over 5 weeks. This is due to a broken skylight over the shower allowing water to leak into the motorhome, damaged outlets, leaking emergency exit, faulty generator, inccorect ladder placement for over ********, damaged roof panels, unsealed roof vents, black tank heaters that fell off and now a pre-installed accessory (Winegard 360+) pre wired for winegard gateway was not properly installed. I am so fed up with this motorhome that I want to declare this a lemon and just get a replacement. This has turned out to be the biggest and most troublesome purchase of our lives. At the price tag of $97500.00, you would think that they would build something that was adequate to that price. I want a replacement unit or my money back.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/08/2022

From our investigation into this complaint, it appears that there has been a delay in ordering and receiving the parts necessary to complete these repairs. Forest River is currently in communication with the dealership and can assure the customer that all claims for *********************** brought to our attention will be completed in accordance with the Forest River Limited Warranty. Please note that there are several concerns listed in this complaint for which claims have not been submitted including: unsealed roof vents, faulty generator and a defective Winegard system. As of the date of this correspondence, Forest River was not made aware of these issues and has not been given the opportunity to make the necessary repairs. Coachmen RV stands ready to correct any warrantable issues within the warranty period and will work with our staff and dealerships to ensure that corrections are made to the roof panels, roof vents, and Winegard system. Unfortunately, the generator is a component warranted by the manufacturer itself and not Forest River. The customer will need to contact the manufacturer of that component for any warranty claims, as it is outside the scope of the Forest River Limited Warranty.

Customer satisfaction is our number one goal and we welcome the opportunity to rectify these issues in a timely manner to the satisfaction of the customer. The **************** Manager for this brand has been directed to reach out to the dealership and instruct them to coordinate a repair schedule that best suits the customer.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further questions regarding this issue or any future concerns you may have.

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
We have owned this brand new 2022 Forest River, Coachman Freelander since 06/30/2022. Since then there have been over 13 different issues with the motorhome and it has been in the shop for 33 Days. Additionally, it will be out of service even longer to fix the remaining 11 issues that still have not been completed. At this point we would like either a replacement or a refund.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/12/2022

As stated in our response dated 09/08/2022, Forest River stands ready to correct any warrantable issues the customer has identified during the warranty period. In our most recent communication with the dealership, we were assured that all of the items on the list have been corrected with the exception of the three items previously acknowledged in our initial response. The dealership has been working with the customer to coordinate a schedule to finalize these three repairs.

The Forest River Limited Warranty provided to the customer at the time of purchase specifies that Forest River must be given the opportunity to repair any items that fall under the Limited Warranty as allowed by law. We apologize for any inconvenience the customer has experienced and are prepared to rectify these issues once the customer and the dealership have coordinated a schedule of repairs.

We purchase our RV , a 2022 coachemn Freelander 26 DS brand new, from the beginning we have had nothing but issues with it. The skylight in the bathroom lieaded, the emergency exit leaked, a support brace for the driverside step fell off because they only put one s**** in it compared to the 8 on the passenger side, the outliest are crooked, the trim on the inside was not square, the ** in the outside compartment fell out, the outside compartemnts started rusting, the generator did not work, the list goes on and on. This was a BRAND New RV and it is complete c*** We have reached out several time and they referred us to General RV to do repairs and after six months of being in the shop the repairs werer sub par. Now the repairs are on us and I have had to fix 8 of the above listed items as well as another leak in the roof by the antenna as their craftmanship is so horrible. Additionally the antenna was not even connected to the cable. I wish I had never bought this ***** dollar piece of c*** and their support is terrible averaging 3 week replies. I just want my money back.

This correspondence is in reference to complaint ******** regarding a 2022 Coachmen Freelander purchased on 6/30/22 from General RV Center.

All of the items in the customer's complaint were identified in a previous submission and have since been repaired in accordance with the Forest River Limited Warranty which expired on 6/30/2023. It should be noted that the suggestion of the antenna not being attached to the cable is incorrect. This particular unit was not purchased with the satellite package option and therefore, did not have the aforementioned cable.  However, the servicing dealer made the decision to install the aftermarket item to satisfy the customer at
the time of the service appointment in February 2023. Subsequently, a leak resulted from this installation and a modem was damaged. The customer ************************ the leak themselves and Coachmen RV replaced the modem at no cost as a goodwill gesture in July 2023. As recently as August 8, 2023, the customer contacted our warranty and service representative to inquire about the location of charge control wiring for solar panels that he was having installed. The customer was advised of this location and the call ended positively. There was no mention of any additional concerns or complaints about ongoing issues the customer was having with the unit. Given the information directly from the customer that he was utilizing his unit without issue and was considering upgrading the power system to continue in utilizing his motorhome, we have had no indication that there are any additional warrantable issues to address.

We encourage the customer to contact the service department for the Freelander brand at ************ should they have any future questions regarding their RV.

I am rejecting this response because:The new issue was the support brace falling off the step, I did reach out to service a week ago with no response. As for the satalite, there is no satalie it is the windegard + antenna that was on the unit WHEN I BOUGHT IT. The dealer did not install it after I purchased the Unit. The antenna cable was sitting in the Antenna not connected (Windgard 360+). How you have no record that YOU installed it and it is included on the build list is beyond me. I don't know what, if any, qaulity control you have but it's terrible. I just had to replace the s**** covers (plastic cover strips) s on the back of the ** because they split in half and fell off exposing the screws.

I am rejecting this response because:

We purchased our 2022 coachmen freelander in June of 2022 we have had nothing but trouble with it since. Roof leaks, generator issues, outlet failures, tv antenna not hooked up. Now during our trip to *******, only our **** trip With the ** mind you, as it was in the shop the first six months of its life, the Awning pulled out of the rv and bent the frame of the awning. We had some light rain and these awnings are designed to give way if they get too much rain, this one gave way and pulled itself out of the side of the **. I had no choice but to fully remove the awning and throw it away so that I could begin my 850 mile Trip back to ****. There have been so many issues with this **, I just want them to buy it back. Work Order# ******.2/26/2022 Picked up ** from ********************* (Almost 4 months later). Most warranty items listed were fixed except for leak from the bedroom slide. ********************* says the leak was caused from debris between the slide out roof and top seal. I disagreed because I consistently made sure there was no debris on all slide outs. Also, if debris caused the slide out to leak, why arent the other two larger slide outs leaking? There are noticeable gaps on each end on the exterior bedroom slide out top level seal where moisture can easily enter the interior.4/01/2022 First camping trip of season. I noticed the bedroom floor had some soft spots around the bedroom slide out. 8/15/2022 I contacted ********************* at Forest River to report my water damage finding and he has yet to return my message.
