Bought a new GE washer/dryer. After 2.5 weeks, started smelling a burning smell. Pulled dryer out and the wires were melting. GE sent out repairman who said a whole new wiring harness was needed. Waited more than 3 weeks for the parts to come in and repairman to come back out. GE did not provide a new electrical cord with the wiring harness. Called GE and they said the power cord is not provided and it is an additional kit that has to be purchased. Husband had to go up to Home Depot while repairman was still at house, in order to purchase an electrical cord so that we can test out dryer and see if it works. GE is horrible and I don't understand how they charge extra for the electrical cord that it attached to the appliance.

On 9/28/24, I attempted to do a load of laundry and it was clear something was wrong with the machine. After retrieving the error codes, I went online through the GE Appliances Factory Service site, put in my requested zip code, placed the error codes in the “description” section, and scheduled my appointment for 10/2. I immediately received a confirmation email saying my appointment was scheduled with an authorized GE appliance servicer. I took off from work to make the scheduled 10/2 appointment. On 10/2, I made contact with GE customer service to get an eta of the service tech and they advised me my appointment was cancelled. At this point, I was very confused and upset because I knew I was not the one who cancelled the appointment and I didn’t receive any notification stating my appointment had been cancelled. She then apologizes for the inconvenience and initially tells me the next available appointment is 10/11. She then stated she could get an appointment scheduled for 10/4, so I accepted that appointment seeing as though that was a better choice. I again take off another day of work. October 4th comes and I again call GE to get an estimated time of arrival and they tell me no technician will be coming out because the office is closed due to Rosh Hashanah. They told me according to their system the scheduled appointment for 10/11 is still set and that would be the earliest they would be able to come out. October 11th comes and I call GE again requesting an eta for the service technician. I was told the appointment was cancelled yet again at no fault of mine but because somehow their system accidentally captured two appointments for one day and somehow both appointments were cancelled. I don’t recommend buying a washer or dryer through them.

If I could give a zero I would. Our washing machine was less than 6 mo old and through service we are constantly told they can’t get the part (through sears). I’ve called and GE says they cannot replace our appliance “they don’t do that” per the Customer service rep. It’s been over 2 months of going to the laundry mat. I’m getting a lawyer. The money we spent on the washer, plus money spent on the laundry mat will some way be compensated. Will never buy another GE product again, and will absolutely let everyone I know to do the same.

GE microwave scam - GE sold 36 inch wide over-the-range microwaves for home installation that it since discontinued. The whole industry moved to 29 inch wide over-the range microwaves. Now that our microwave died we have a huge whole over our stovetop and GE is selling “trim kits” that cost over $300- the cost (or more) of the microwave we are replacing!
This is the worst company ever.
      Do not buy!

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received for my GE Profile Advantium Built-In Single Electric Wall Oven with Microwave, purchased in July 2022. My experience with your service team has fallen below the standards I expect from GE.
In September 2024, I contacted GE customer care to request a service appointment after diagnosing my microwave through a local repair shop. They informed me that the required part was on back order, so I decided to go directly through GE for faster resolution. The representative scheduled my appointment for September 27, 2024, advising me to order the part previously suggested by local repair shop.
The appointment was rescheduled to September 26, 2024. When the technician arrived, he diagnosed the microwave and confirmed the issue was the same as previously identified. He replaced the part, but the problem persisted. He then stated that GE does not diagnose microwaves previously examined by other shops, despite my prior disclosure. This left me feeling frustrated, especially since I was charged for labor without a conclusive resolution.
To make matters worse, the technician threatened to place me on a "Do Not Service" list. After this incident, I contacted GE customer relations, speaking with a manager named Teresa. However, she informed me that the technician claimed I asked him not to diagnose the issue, which was a lie. Why would I pay for a service and not want a diagnosis? I explicitly stated my willingness to return the part and order whatever new part he recommended for the fix. Just a day later, I was placed on the "Do Not Service" list despite my attempts to discuss the matter.
While GE initiated a refund for the visit, I remain concerned about my non-functional microwave worth over $2000, just two years after purchase. I request a follow-up service to properly diagnose and fix my appliance. As a loyal customer, I hope GE will take my concerns seriously and restore my confidence in your service.

I have a GE Refrigerator model GSS25GGPBB, serial no. FT414302. The recommended filter is the GE XWFE. I bought two of these filters from GE Appliances and they do not fit my refrigerator. Upon installing, the filter status read “Err” and would not dispense water. I paid $75 for a technician to tell me that the filter models are different, and the newer one isn't capable with my refrigerator and that is why it read "Err". I wasted paying a $1,000 for a refrigerator I can't get ice or water. GE has not helped me at all!!
AVOID Buying any GE Refrigerator or GE water filter. They changed the filter and kept the same filter model number GE XWFE. I bought the GE refrigerator from Home Depot less than two years ago and every store from Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon and Sears all sell the newer version with the same XWFE model number that doesn't fit in the refrigerator I bought. IT IS A SCAM!!
Each GE filter costs $64 with taxes and shipping and it only lasts 6 months. That is a waste of money and time. If you buy any refrigerator with an ice/water maker, ask them upfront about the water filter and how much it will cost you in the long term to replace.
Same price in local hardware stores. Why does new filter have those radial plastic "spokes"? Did I purchase the wrong model? It says XWFE and both filters look identical on labels - just the top is different and apparently different enough that it won't fit in fridge. I don't understand the problem, but if this is a slightly different model, why does it say XWFE too? I'm not happy with GE. I feel like they know it's a problem but don't want to solve it, so they keep shipping the same XWFE knowing it doesn't fit my refrigerator or want to bring their own technician in order to tell the customer they have to spend more money for technician to fix the refrigerator in order to accept the new version, instead of owing the mistake and rectifying it!
DO NOT BUY A GE REFRIGERATOR!!

GE will not take responsibility for an EXTREMELY loud noise that my refrigerator has been making since I bought it, going on three years now of sending out incompetent technicians and giving me an absolute run around, and now have told me that they're only responsible for functional repairs, not for noise repairs. My refrigerator makes a racket that goes on for days on end and is sometimes unbearable to listen to, but they are saying too bad. I have sent emails to the CEO and have spoken to his "assistant" pleading for help with this noise, and the runaround I've gotten is truly disgraceful. I have been a GE customer for over 25 years but will NEVER buy a GE product again. Customer service is absolutely terrible, they're technicians are absolutely terrible. One technician told me he wouldn't explain anything to me because I wouldn't understand (as in "the little woman won't understand"). Another one told me in order to stop the noise I need to keep my house at 68 degrees all summer. Aside from being way too cold to be comfortable, that puts too much stress on the air conditioning evaporator coils and can cause freezing of the coils, so had I listened I would have then had issues with my air conditioning system. These guys are just terrible, terrible company. Don't buy from them.

Worst company ever I am 64 and I have never had such a **** appliance is the ones I have purchased from them. I got the fridge, the dishwasher, the microwave, and the oven when I had my kitchen redone and I have never in my life been so disgusted with a product in my life. The money I have spent on repairs is more than I actually paid for the appliances, that’s how awful they are, I would not recommend these to my worst friend. I recently purchased new knobs for my stove because the ones that I have never set straight and when I soaked them in water with dish soap for a half an hour they fell apart.. now for $30 I have beautiful stainless steel stunning heavy duty fantastic knobs,l and why did I have to purchase them? Shouldn’t they have come with those beautiful knobs that sit straight to begin with?? I have spent $275 twice on my dishwasher to have the main circuit board replaced for God knows what reason, my refrigerator would freeze everything in the fridge and not freeze it in the freezer?? My microwave has a crack that’s been there since the day we got it so I rarely use it because it freaks me out I highly highly recommend you do not go with GE. I ended up getting a beautiful Samsung refrigerator that is stunning and I’m getting ready to get a new dishwasher microwave and range because of the shit I bought it literally makes me sick that I saved my money for seven years to get a new kitchen and I bought the worst freaking appliances you could ever purchase in life.

      Nothing but constant repairs.
If only 0 starts was an option.
We had to buy a second refrigerator because our GE monogram was constantly breaking down. Always the same issue.
IT TAKES AT A MINIMUM 2 WEEKS to have a technician come out in our area. Then the technician orders the part and you have to wait another 2 weeks for someone to come out to finish the repair.
Our most recent issue was faulty door seals. The door seals are now on back order but in the meantime our fan motor has stopped working. THEY REFUSE TO SEND A TECHNICIAN OUT ON A SECOND CALL (since we already have one open ticket) AND WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY GE ON TWO OCCASIONS WE HAVE TO WAIT ON THE BACK ORDERED DOOR SEALS! Looks like no refrigerator for at least a month.
I highly recommend never purchasing a GE product!!!
