Refrigerator bought 08/2023. Early August of this year it overheated (hot enough to cause a fire if no one had been home) and is not working just 3 days prior to warranty expiring. Waiting on repairs since then. Today is October 1. How long is a person supposed to live without a working refrigerator??
2 separate repairmen have been out to fix it. First one took a picture of the inside, said he’d order the part and left. 3 weeks later, he came back and replaced said part and it blew up as soon as it was plugged in. Now he won’t come back. Second repairman said it has no refrigerant in it and some switch is faulty. It’s been 3 weeks since his visits and no word on when those parts will be in.
I requested replacement appliance after the first repair failed and was informed “warranty covers repair not replacement.” I will remember this the next time I purchase any appliance.

GE is awful!!!! Will never by another GE. We paid over $3500 for a Cafe double oven because we needed it for our daycare center. it was only 2 years old & caught fire. Thank God it was contained inside the oven & no damage done. We contacted GE & there was nothing they could do but give $600 off another oven. So that would be over $5000 spent on ovens in 2 years. My advice is to stay away from GE products they are not what they use to be & Customer service definitely does NOT care!!!!

Avoid GE Appliances if you can. I bought a new home and it came with all new ge appliances and it has just been garbage. The fridge had issues within the 1st month, called GE and they gave me the run around about loopholes in the warranty and never came to fix it had to hire an outside repair another 6 months later the fridge is on the fritz again so I call GE. This time they tell me that since I got an outside repair done it is no no longer their responsibility it it breaks. Then another year later the washing machine stops working. I call the service number but I can't get a hold of anyone and when I go online the account can never find products I have registered multiple times under my account. Not even 3 years in and I have to replace essentially all my appliances.
So basically the warranty is a huge scam!! the products also are not worth it.

      Dear Sir/Madam,
I placed the above order on Sept 26 and I was affirmed that this product would be delivered by Sept 30 through the order confirmation.
This morning, Sept 30, after I spent 1 hour waiting on the phone line and I was told by Kimberly that this product is not available for a delivery because it is a clearance purchase. Kimberly said that she doesn't know when I will be able to receive it. She just kept saying that "if you don't receive the product you will be able to cancel the order".
Does GE customer service truly believe that after a customer invests significant time and effort placing an order with a promised delivery date, they would be satisfied with a failed delivery and a full refund?
This excuse for not honoring your commitment is simply unacceptable.
      Thanks for your attention!

My GE refrigerator and freezer stopped working while under warranty. I called GE and they have sent technician after technician to my house and have had zero success in getting my refrigerator working again. It has been over 3 months and 9 visits since my initial warranty claim. Technicians have replaced just about every component in it and they are now on the 3rd repair company as the first 2 are not willing to work on my unit any longer. Clearly there is a major issue with this refrigerator that cannot be repaired but GE refuses to fully honor their warranty and send me a replacement.

Refrigerator died 7 months old under warranty in addition to a **** *****, extended warranty. Can't get service for 7 days and they're willing to give me $100 food credit. I guess they haven't been shopping lately because $100 buys squat. If they can't perform service under warranty with in a couple days for a major appliance, they shouldn't offer a warranty and outsource it.

My rating quickly dropped from 4 to 1 yesterday when I realized my 2 replacement filters (~$20/ea) I purchased at "not GE", will not work because they do not have a rfid chip.
According to many reviews I read today, the filter automatically expires every six months regardless of usage. The refrigerator only accepts GE filters, which cost $60 each, 3X their competitors price. This is such a price-gouging scam.
I wasn't aware of the chip so, like I always have in the past, I looked up the filters model #, and searched online for the best price. Once my 2 new filters arrived, without realizing it was him going to become a problem, I threw away my old filter. We have been trained in the past to know if the filter light is blinking, it is time to change it. I have now learned that my new refrigerator's filter lies.
This is predatory business practices locking us in with a vendor to replace water filters on fridges. GE makes the claim on their website that this is due to protecting the consumer against water leaks through the chip installed.
I wanted to be heard, but now I believe filing a claim is the route I should take. I have never reached out to BBB before, so it is clear that this has really upset me. Can I file the complaint from here?
Six months ago I made a large investment in GE by purchasing their product instead of a competitor's product. In return, they force me to use ONLY their price-gouged filter with rfid chip. This is not my first GE appliance, but it will be my last.

I would give a zero, but can’t. I purchased a GE washer, dryer, and refrigerator July 20, 2024. Problem began with dryer about a month after purchase. They have come three times and the issue is still not fixed. The call center employees are disrespectful of my time and frustrations, hold times averaging 45-60 minutes, appointment windows 8 hours long, and I am working on the fourth. Last house call the tech ordered part, said it would be mailed to the house. It didn’t arrive and no one even called to confirm that it had arrived prior to coming to house for repair. So thoroughly disappointed in GE. I will never buy another GE product.

THIS COMPANY DOES NOT HONOR COMPLAINTS FILED AGAINST THEM. THEY FAIL TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEIR COMMITMENT TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.

6 months after purchasing my new GE refrigerator the filter light went on showing it was time for a drinking water filter replacement. Little did I know GE puts an RFID tag in their filters which makes the refrigerator water dispenser only work with their brand which is more than double the price it should be. The refrigerator displays in error code and does not dispense water if you use a third party filter. This is a scam to get $50 dollars every 6 months from everyone who buys their refrigerator and should be illegal.
