I have held Santander deposits of six-figures plus continuously for more than a decade and at some times have been labeled a Premier customer. A year ago, i had a fraud attack, and they had to close and reopen my accounts. I spent endless hours trying to get on-line access to my account, among other things trying to see what charges had appeared on my credit card and to shift the autopay to new accounts. I also wanted to see what rate was being paid on my money market account. But if you do this, be ready for insulting customer service and endless waits on hold. I asked a few times in the branch what rate was being paid on the money market account, assuming that applied to my account. It turns out it didn't and all along they were paying ****%. A money market rate is supposed to reflect money market rates such as Treasury bills or Federal Funds and is meant to vary with the market. Customers choose it so they do not have to constantly rate shop. That's how it works at nonbank money funds like Vanguard or Fidelity and many banks. After pointing this out I did get a much more money-market like rate, but it will not fluctuate except down and i will have to ask again in a few months. Do not trust Santander to have your interests at heart.

I had aquired a personal loan in the past and was satisfied with the process, therefore when I considered applying for a new loan to consolidate my credit cards Santander came to mind. I've paid my loan with automatic deductions and never a late a payment. I applied and was approved online. Shortly after I received an email saying to call the number listed because they were unable to verify application information. I called immediately and the recording said to call during regular business hours which were M-Fri 8-4:45PM. I waited until the next day because it was Sunday. When I called the number the representative stated I had been denied the loan. I questioned, shouldn't you be verifying the information on my application. She stated I may want to check with Experian because that is the credit bureau that provided the information. I said I don't have the need to do that because I'm already a subscriber tyo Experian. We just went back and forth because " I didn't understand" and "I was upset" that I had been denied. No I was not upset at the denial I was upset in regards to the run around, checking my credit to then not provide me with the real reason for denial. Really disappointed with this bank that I thought to be so honorable!

i keep receiving a paper check after making payments using santander bank to my credit card namely mercury card. i visited santander bank twice and each time i was given a cocky or a rude attitude by the front desk tellers. yesterday this hispanic girl was talking in a rude manner and told me to call the number on that check. when i called the number on that check i was transferred to my bank and the guy on the phone couldnt hear me well because the phone voice level suddenly dropped. i tried explaining to this person and he kept going in a loop telling me that he dont know what i have received failing to address the issue properly. i asked him to forward this matter to the supervisor and he kept givng me a nonsense explanations.this is a mental or psychological harassment campaign since they were unable to find the reason why im getting these checks in the mail.

I have had several accounts at *************** In general, I would go to the branch located at *************************************************************** for my banking needs. Early one morning, I was checking one of my accounts and found that $9,500 was missing. I quickly contacted the bank and was told that the money would "probably" be returned to me. I always worked with the same banker at Santander (P.G.). He told me something different each time I asked about my money such as most people get their money back, that he didn't know of anyone who did not have their money returned or that my money might not be returned. One day at the bank I was completely in control but distressed. P.G. pointed at me and laughed. I found his. behavior egregious. The manager of this bank (Ms. ***** never reached out to me. Finally, the money was return an after receiving, an unpleasatn grudging lettert stating that the money. was mine to use but the amount would be reversed if I were found to have committed fraudulent activity. There was no salutation on the letter and no signature. There was just an 800 number, No one showed any concern for me or my money at Santander.I've been researching other banks. My money is not safe at Santander.

Noticed a few months ago the interest remained extremely low on my MMA as rates were increasing. Called and they raised my rate from .1% to ****%. Noticed today their web site advertised ****% and my rate is still ****%. Called the local bank and they played ignorance. The manager acted as if he could not understand why I would I would expect my rate to automatically increase as their published rates increased. They certainly decreased my rate automatically as rates decreased. Basically he acted as if it was my responsibility to track their rates and ask for increases.

This company is incompetent and fraudulent. They sold my debt and changed the date of the debt so that it would reflect a more current date so that the debt would remain on my credit report fraudulently more than 7 years. They refuse to inform me of the new creditor which is against my right to know the debt amount, and to verify if the debt is accurate. Steer clear of this company for financing.

I went to Santander bank to cash a check drawn on one of their customers accounts. Asked me for 2 forms of ID see I'm in employee which wasn't an issue because of identity. Then wanted my phone number which still wasn't an issue to me then teller precedes to say texting me to a think took my ID picture and debit card information to a link to verify my identity through experian to verify my identity. Then wasn't identified through experian so could cash my pay check so now unable to cash check .I think using experian to cash your own check is wrong

My son financed a car with Santander Bank and the car was repossesed and the only way for my son to get the car back is to have it refinance or pay the car off. I think that is a hard way to treat a customer,
