Nexamp Maine contacted me to find out if I was interested in leasing some of my property for a solar farm. I have found the Nexamp representatives to be very difficult to deal with. They do not respond professionally to phone calls, they do not keep their appointments, and they do not seem to know what they are doing. My impression of this company is that they are being run by inexperienced people.

FOUR MONTHS......This company is owned by ********************** and it's subsidiary ****************************** (DGC). This company has a POOR customer service and the person I talked to in February LIED when she said it would take 30 Days to cancel my account.do not sign up fpr this SCAM as it will cost you more money and will not help the state of *****.

      Hello ******,

We are sorry to hear you have not been pleased with your experience. Our team works hard to keep our customers well-informed about our program, and we apologize for any confusion or frustrations.

In *****, when a customer requests to cancel, our contract states to provide 90 days' notice. This timeline is required so we can communicate the request with your utility and allow them ample time to remove your utility account from our ********************** farm. However, since you requested to cancel within the first 5 days of receiving your first Nexamp invoice, you were only responsible for paying that initial invoice. This means that although your utility had not finalized the cancelation, you were receiving additional solar credits at no charge. This does not negatively impact your account or the state, and the voided invoices are covered by Nexamp directly. This entire process is in accordance with ****** community solar policies.

While we apologize for the frustrations you have felt, we hope the information provided here and within our direct correspondence with a senior member of our team has resolved your concerns. There is no further action needed on your account, and we thank you for your time.

NO STARS!!!!! terrible customer service and they are 3-4 months behind so you can not accurately tell what they are charging you for! Went solar here at my house and the bills keep coming because they wont shut you off for 3 months so they double dip! They keep saying you are using their power when I am sitting here generating my own! IT IS A SCAM!!!!!! When you question why it takes so long to "shut off" no explaination...it is because they want 3 more months of your money!!!!!! I regret EVER sighing up for this! DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!

      Hello ********,

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the confusion and frustration youve experienced with our program. We are committed to helping you through this.

At Nexamp, we aim to make solar energy accessible and beneficial for everyone. To clarify how our billing works, you will see the credits applied to your CMP bill under the "My Generation Details" section. These credits are applied monthly, and you will receive an invoice from Nexamp for these credits about 1-2 billing cycles later. This delay is necessary because we need CMP to apply the credits, send the bill to you with the credits applied, and then verify this information to accurately generate your invoice. It is important to remember that you receive a 15% discount on any credits applied towards your utility costs.

Regarding your concern about having multiple forms of solar, it is allowed in *****. You can participate in our community solar programs even if you have personal solar panels. However, we were only notified about your personal solar panel installation upon your cancelation request as we do not have access to this information otherwise. We understand that the benefits of our program are not as easily recognized given your new installation of panels.
Given this, we have been working with your utility to remove you from our solar project, which can take up to 90 days. This timeline is outlined in the agreement you signed with Nexamp and on the ************ of the ****** Advocate site. While we apologize for the frustrations, we can confirm that you will no longer receive future Nexamp invoices and your cancelation is complete. Any excess credits that are placed on your utility account can be used in future months to help offset the remaining charges your personal panels could not cover.

At Nexamp, we strive to operate with integrity and ensure our customers needs are met. We will reach out to you personally to learn more and ensure we can align on the next steps to complete your cancelation smoothly. Thank you for your time and cooperation.

I canceled Nexamp on 3/13 and still am receiving bills for the end of July for over $100. I told Nexamp no one lives in the 2 houses I own, and we would be selling them. I was told I would have to pay in arrears for up to 3 months. It has been 5 months. There is no way I had 5 months of credit to pay for. The savings amounted to nothing as I had to pay many more processing fees and it resulted in NYSEG being completely confused with billing. I was treated rudely with one representative on the phone, and my last 3 emails have gone unanswered. I had to remove my auto billing, and am refusing to pay as I feel I followed the plan, but Nexamp has not.

      Hi ****,

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the frustration and confusion you experienced during the cancelation process of your account. At **********************, we strive to provide exceptional customer service, and it is clear we fell short in your case.

We understand how important it is for your concerns to be addressed promptly and efficiently. We are aware that you were able to communicate with one of our senior team members, who helped resolve your concerns. We appreciate your patience throughout this process.

Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will continue to use it to improve our services to be as transparent and educational as possible. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and please note that your account is being canceled as requested. We hope to provide a better experience in the future.

I have solar on my house and my electric bill are usually $20-$30. Somehow Nexamp became involved and is charging me $100+ and I still pay CMP and another supplier. I have tried to cancel and Nexamp said it would take 90 days and the continue to bill me over $100. This company is a scam. Everyone should be aware and stay clear of this company.

      Hello ****,

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you are facing and can certainly do our best to help. We had enrolled you in our program prior to our solar farm going live in order to confirm that you would have a reserved spot. Enrolling with Nexamp was free, and we strived to keep our customers informed throughout the process. Since you signed up, we have sent various ****eting emails and communications to update you on our crediting and invoicing processes. Our team works diligently to ensure transparency and timely information sharing with all our customers.

When you enrolled in our program, we analyzed your electricity usage and costs to estimate a share size on our solar farm that should cover approximately 90% of your annual electricity expenses. If customers install ********************** panels after signing up, they need to inform us so we can adjust their share size accordingly. Unfortunately, we do not have access to this information and cannot make adjustments without being notified of usage changes. We understand that, given the circumstances with your personal solar panels, you may not see the full benefit of our program.

When you cancel with Nexamp, we **** the cancelation request on your account immediately. However, in *****, when you cancel with a community solar provider like Nexamp, the cancelation can take up to 90-days. During that 90-day window you can still receive solar energy credits that reduce your CMP bill. Once removed from our project, any banked credits will continue to be used to offset your usage. This is why the original contract you signed with us, and the cancelation email we provided you in February mentioned that the process can take up to 90 days.

At Nexamp, we work hard to ensure our customers are knowledgeable about and enjoy our program. We are dedicated to assisting you and will reach out personally to identify a solution that works best for both parties. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to provide the best possible service.

While I do agree with many of these reviews, I will not shame the company. I simply disagree with how finances are handled and choose to separate my personal business with them. Perhaps someone with greater internal knowledge may have a different opinion, but I deal with the personal facts. While the first two months seemed fine, getting a smaller bill from CMP and a separate bill from Nexamp to total just a little bit less (maybe 2% tops), but after two months it tripled, where I would simply be paying less staying with CMP directly. Now I do agree with taking steps towards using solar energy, I do not think Nexamp is the best company to take that direction. The only reason I gave them two stars is because when I canceled my subscription they replied promptly and directly. Otherwise it would have been just one.

      Hello *******,

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you explaining your circumstances and hope the details below can help you move forward.
When you first joined our program, we tailored your share of our solar farm to cover approximately 90% of your annual electricity costs based on your initial usage data. It is important to note that solar energy production varies with the seasons typically generating more credits during sunnier months and fewer in the winter. This natural fluctuation is why we recommend evaluating your savings annually rather than monthly.

Any excess credits accumulated from the sunnier months are stored in your CMP account to help offset your electricity costs in other months as needed. As a reminder, no matter how many solar credits are produced in a month, you will always receive a 15% discount.
If your energy needs have changed or you feel the savings are insufficient, our team is always willing to conduct a reassessment of your usage and adjust your share accordingly. While we are sorry to see you go, you can reach our support team with any remaining questions at ************ or ********************************* We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM 6:00 PM EST.

      Hi ******,

Thank you for your feedback. We understand there may have been some confusion regarding how billing and credits work within our program, and we're here to clarify and ensure you have all the information you need.

Nexamp operates with a commitment to ensure our customers can save on their electricity bills, while also supporting local clean energy. We calculate your invoice based on the standard rate set by your utility, and any credits generated from your share of our solar farm are applied in full to your utility bill. This system is designed to provide you with savings, as the invoice you receive from us will reflect your discount on these credits.

We appreciate the opportunity to explain how our program works and how we determine the charges on your invoice. Your account has been canceled and you have not received an invoice since December of 2023, which falls in line with the original cancelation timeline provided to you via email and in the contract you signed with Nexamp. The notices you received were from our automated payment system notifying you there was an open balance remaining on your account.

We will reach out privately to provide full account details as well as our resolution to your concerns and overall account status.

In looking at my past two bills from Delmarva - I am paying you way more than the amount I am being billed for. As you see in the pictures below. last bill from ******** was $53.91 and you charged me $99.46. Then this current bill from ******** is $81.29 and you all charged me $91.79. I have tried to contact you with no response by email or by phone. Trying to quit your service!!

      Hi ******,

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We understand it can be confusing to see discrepancies between what you've paid and what you've used at certain times of the year. At Nexamp, our billing is based on the solar generation of your share of our solar farm and not your actual usage. This means that there are times, particularly during the sunnier months, when your share generates more electricity than you use. The excess isn't lost; it accumulates as credits in your account. These credits are then used to offset your bills during periods of lower solar production, ensuring you still save over the course of the year.

We acknowledge that this aspect of the program might lead to moments when it seems like you're paying more upfront. With that said, we try to offset the large majority of your utility costs throughout the year and offer a 10% discount allowing you to maximize your savings year-round. With our program, your utility bills should naturally be less than what you pay Nexamp in return, since our credits are reducing what you owe back to Delmarva.

We do recommend that any customer who feels they are generating too many credits, can always request for someone to reanalyze your usage, so that we can ensure you have the proper allocation size. We do apologize if this opportunity was not offered to you during your time communicating with us.

Our records indicate that you were able to get in touch with our support team regarding your concerns as well as ultimately your cancelation request. Please rest assured that we're currently in the process of adhering to the cancelation timeline outlined in our policies. This process is designed to ensure a smooth transition for you and to comply with the necessary administrative steps.

If you have any more questions, need further clarifications, or require additional assistance during this time, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to make your experience with Nexamp as positive and beneficial as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

So, as an example, Nexamp charges maybe $100./ month for credits purchased that might get ** $10./month off utility bill. Heavy additional cost to **! Two ******** rather than one. Literature is vague/nonspecific/deceptive on how this all works. Avoids clarity on what customer pays. The utility apparently wont allow these transactions out of their office. If it benefitted customer youd think they would. Agree ********************** feels like a scam! Zero stars!

      Hello,

Thank you for your feedback. Let us first start by apologizing that you have had a poor experience with our organization. We're eager to share more information to address your concerns effectively.

To begin, in your utility territory, Nexamp charges for solar energy credits only after theyre applied to reduce your electricity costs. This process ensures you never pay more than necessary, with every Nexamp invoice reflecting a 10% discount on the solar credits that were applied to your utility bills. We prioritize transparency and accuracy, and do not generate invoices until we receive confirmation from your utility that credits have been applied to your account. This should allow you to see noticeable cost reductions on your end.

While we strive to provide comprehensive information through our online ************ we recognize the value of direct communication. Therefore, we will reach out to you personally to gain a deeper understanding of your specific concerns and collaboratively identify a satisfactory solution.

Back in 10/2023, I received a bill in the mail from Nexamp, not knowing what it was. Looked through my *************** find anything at all. So I gave a call to the number on the bill to further investigate. Found out it was a solar farm company, they confirmed emails were going to an old email address no longer in use. They also informed me that my account stemmed from an INQUIRY I had made back in 2020. Which I thought was bizarre. Usually an inquiry is looking for more information on something, not an agreement to an account or to do business with. Cancelled my account with them ASAP. I did have a balance with them, still have yet to pay it. Received another email from them recently (3/5/24) on my old email stating that they are preparing to send my balance to collections (which Im perfectly okay with because this whole experience has been SKETCHY). I did some more research & looked at reviews on BBB where Im seeing A LOT of similar experiences and it seems as though a common response from Nexamp has been we have a signed contract on file. Which got me thinking. I went on my old email again and searched for any Nexamp emails. Went to the oldest one received and saw a contract was attached, which. if I just inquired, never heard back from anyone until this bill was received, where did this contract come from. Scrolled to the bottom of the contract to find IT WAS NOT EVEN MY HUSBANDS SIGNATURE. Looked absolutely nothing like it. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD. We will continue down the path of not paying this balance. We NEVER made an agreement. We NEVER signed a contract ourselves. And we NEVER even knew this switch from CMP to Nexamp was even happening until we received a bill. I dont know how a business can get away with practices like these. Absolutely mindblowing and they should 100% be held accountable. SIGNING SOMEONE ELSES NAME WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE IS ****************

      Hello,

We sincerely apologize for the confusion and frustration this situation has caused. Nexamp values integrity and transparency, and we welcome the chance to share more information about your experience.

Regarding the issue of the electronic signature, it's important to clarify that Nexamp, like many companies, utilizes DocuSign for electronic signatures, which is a widely accepted and legally valid method for securing agreements. Electronic signatures are designed to provide the same legal standing as handwritten signatures, as per state laws. Nexamp aims to ensure that our customers have a clear understanding of the program they are enrolling, and we regret any oversight that led to your unexpected bill. The process from inquiry to account creation typically involves clear communication of your utility account information and consent, and we are sorry if you feel that this was not your experience.

Regarding your concerns about the contract and signature, we take allegations of fraud and forgery very seriously. We would like to investigate this matter further to understand what occurred in your specific case. It's crucial for us to address any discrepancies and ensure that all our practices are fair and honest.

Given the nature of your concerns, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to connect directly and discuss a resolution. We are committed to providing clarity on the situation and will contact you directly for more information. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we look forward to speaking with you.
