I have repeatedly asked Nexamp for a detailed bill but they either refuse or are unable to show how they arrived at my August total. I simply asked to please show me how Nexamp came to the total using math and whatever numbers they used in their calculations. I thought what I requested was simple. At the very least, a customer asking for a detailed bill should not be that hard to provide but instead you explain using smoke and mirrors.

      Hi ******,

Thank you for providing your candid feedback.

Our support team is always committed to helping our customers understand how our program works and where they are seeing savings.

Put simply, you will be able to see the reductions that Nexamp is applying to your utility bills under the Usage Information for Meter Number __" section listed on the first page of your bill. The solar credits will be listed as a Community Solar ID Credit. The number of kWh listed there represents the amount of solar energy that your share of our solar farm has produced over the past month.

Nexamps goal is to use these credits to cover roughly 90% of your utility costs throughout the year. In order to cover these costs, it is typical for our customers to produce more credits than what they need in the summer months when days are long and sunny, to still substantially reduce their utility costs in the winter when solar energy production is less. The excess credits that are generated in the summer months will remain on your Potomac ****** account and will be used during those months where your usage is greater than the energy credits generated by the solar farm. Due to the fluctuation in our solar production throughout the year, we recommend that you view your savings on an annual basis, rather than monthly.

Lastly, since Nexamp is supplying Potomac ******s grid with the electricity produced, they are the ones to determine the value of our solar credits. This is not something Nexamp can control, and is determined by adding the Generation, Transmission, and Distribution rates associated with your utility bill each month. Once Nexamp receives confirmation you received the solar credits, the invoice will reflect the value of such, but always at a 10% discount.

We can see that you have an ongoing conversation with our team, and we will be sure to personally follow up to make sure that your questions have been answered. We thank you for your time as a Nexamp Community Solar Subscriber and look forward to a resolution.

Nexamp has been everything that they promised they would be. After a couple minor billing glitches at the beginning, everything has run smoothly. There was a short learning process where I learned how to understand my ComEd bill, but since then I can clearly check to see that the credits have reduced my bill every month. Were happy to be a Nexamp customer.

      1) Advertised rate is fraudulent - they say minus 15% but neglect to tell you that their base rate is from ****** (much higher than here in *****)2) The billing is done by "generated" power - not usage - hard to understand and track (pay more in summer when they generate more and "bank" power for winter)3) How they calculate your need is way off the charts (ow they determine they generated need) charged me for > **** KWH, actual usage < 350 (2 months)4) Suspect that they charged me including my own solar generation instead of subtracting it NET: THE 2 MONTH CHARGE FROM nEXAMP WAS 4-5 TIMES HIGHER THAN CMP

      Hi ***,

Thank you for providing your feedback.

We are very much willing to work with you to make sure that your concerns are addressed. To do so, we will detail our responses to your statements in order:

      1.  Regarding your statement about our base rates, they are taken from your utility, Central ***** ****** standard pricing. While this can fluctuate throughout the year, this is taken directly from their system and is not something that Nexamp can control. Although our company is based in ******, the electricity rates there do not have an impact on what CMP is charging you. In an email correspondence that a member of our team had with you on 9/13, they sent you the formula that our team uses to value your credits, which is directly tied to your CMP rates. You are welcome to tailor it to your specific details if you want to confirm that the credits are calculated accurately.

      2.  You are correct in that the Nexamp invoices reflect the credits that were generated during the month, as opposed to what you used. In the summer months this means that you would likely receive credits in excess of your usage. These excess credits will be stored on your CMP account and can be used in the winter months when solar energy production is less than your monthly usage. We keep these seasonal changes in mind so that we can maximize your reductions throughout the year. We try our best to make this clear in our sign-up details and in the numerous emails we send to our customers when our solar farms go live and when credits begin being generated.

      3.  Regarding your later points, the design of our program is to help reduce utility costs for people who cannot use solar panels themselves. In the **************, the regulations allow for community solar subscribers to have personal rooftop solar panels and still be enrolled in community solar if desired.  With this said, Nexamp will only charge you for solar generation from your share of our solar farm, but at your allotted 15% discount. At the time of when you enrolled with Nexamp, we were expecting to cover a significant portion of your remaining electricity costs throughout the year. However, since it sounds like you now can offset most of your usage costs with your own panels, the savings are not as easily recognized, and we understand why you would no longer wish to be enrolled. This is why we strongly advise customers to always let us know if they plan to install panels or if they have drastic electricity usage changes.

We are sorry to hear that you werent completely satisfied with your experience, and hope the details provided are able to assist you in moving forward. Thank you for your time as a Nexamp community solar subscriber.

Very misleading information provided when signing up, claiming an overall cost savings around 15% on electric bill. The bill I received for the was astronomical and based on the previous electric bill averages, theres no way i would save money even if winter electric bill was cut to zero. Thankfully canceling was easy

Hi ********, thank you for sharing your feedback with Nexamp.

We are very sorry to hear that you were not completely pleased with your experience. Based on the details shared from your review, we unfortunately were not able to locate your Nexamp account. While we welcome the chance to speak with you further about your account, we will also provide some general information for you here.

As for our sign-up process, our team works very hard to document the logistics of our program as clearly as possible both in the contract you signed with Nexamp and in the numerous emails we send to all our customers when our solar farms go live and when credits begin being generated. We do our best to explain the program so that all consumers can make an educated choice on whether or not they sign-up for community solar.

When you first signed up with our program, we analyzed your usage and electricity costs to estimate a share size on our solar farm that should cover close to 90% of your utility costs for the year. To cover these costs, it is typical for our customers to produce more credits than what they need in the summer months when days are long and sunny, to substantially reduce their utility costs in the winter when solar energy production is less. The excess credits that are generated in the summer months will remain on your utility account and will be used during those months where your usage is greater than the energy credits generated by the solar farm.

Due to the fluctuation in our solar production throughout the year, we recommend that you view your savings on an annual basis, rather than monthly. If you feel that you are receiving too many credits for your needs, it is possible that your electricity usage has changed since the point of when you signed up. We are always willing to review your account and adjust as necessary so that the program works best for your needs.

We also understand that receiving a higher-than-expected bill for solar generation in the summer can be challenging. Therefore, Nexamp is certainly willing to work with you to align on a payment plan that works for both parties. We do not charge late fees or interest, and do not impact credit scores.

Lastly, we are a veteran-founded business committed to helping people decarbonize their life. We operate in numerous states and help tens of thousands of customers save money on their electricity bills every month. We are committed to providing the best service possible for all our customers, and always operate with integrity.

If you have additional questions regarding your Nexamp account, you can reach our support team at ************ or ********************************* We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM 6:00 PM EST.

Fraud. I signed up for this service over a year ago. Just got their first invoice for $152.00, and my electric company CMP bill is the highest ever, $334.00. Where is the discount?I'm 68 years old on social security and live in a 2 room apartment. Sent a cancel notice to NexAmp, let's see how it goes.**** G

      Dear ****,

Thanks for your feedback. We would be happy to provide you with more information so you can learn about the benefits of our program.

First, is that while you signed up last year, our farm was not yet live and producing solar energy. Now that we are operating you have started to receive solar credits on your CMP bills.

Second, it is important to note that Nexamp does not make your utility costs more expensive, and instead we have designed our program to do just the opposite. The solar credits that you produce on our solar farm are used to reduce the amount of electricity owed back to CMP. You will be able to find these reductions listed in the form of kwh called Allocated Generation under the Your Generation Details section on page 2 of your utility bill.

As shown in your first Nexamp invoice, we reduced your CMP bill by 688 kWh, which the utility valued at $179.04. This means that your remaining CMP costs would have been that much more without our service. Since Nexamp applies a 15% discount to these credits, you saved about $27 for that month. If you have questions about high utility costs, we recommend reaching out to Central *********** directly for more information. They are the ones to provide your electricity and set the rates of such.

While we hope this explanation was useful, our team is here to support you with your Nexamp account as best you see fit. We want to ensure the program is working right for you so you can see savings.

Thank you for being a Nexamp Community Solar subscriber.

This company does not receive cancellation well. I cancelled two months ago and since then I have received over $200 worth of bills that they insist need to be paid as the cancellation has not been registered yet. What??? I feel as though I have to pay or it will go against my credit. At this rate they can bill me forever and I will have no recourse. I am close to hiring an attorney so no one else has this happen to them! I am seeing quite a few complaints over the same thing.

      Hello *****,

Thank you for providing your feedback, and we are sorry to hear that you arent completely satisfied with your experience.

While we understand your frustrations with the process for canceling your Nexamp subscription, the timeline is listed in the contract you signed with Nexamp as well as the email correspondence we have had with you in June, July, and August. Even though we process your cancelation request in our system immediately, in order for you to be fully removed from our solar farm, we need your utility (Orange & Rockland) to update their systems as well. Currently, they commit to processing these updates within 90 days, which is why we ask for that amount of time. During that period, you can still receive solar energy credits that reduce your utility costs each month allowing you to continue to save money.

It is also important to note that Nexamp bills our services in arrears, so there is always a delay between when you see credits on your Orange & Rockland account and when we bill you. For example, the invoice you received from Nexamp in August reflects solar credits that were generated from June-July. This period overlaps with the date that you originally requested to cancel your Nexamp account and is within the expected cancelation timeline. This explains why you received and paid Nexamp invoices after your cancelation request date.

With this being said, the August invoice is the final charge you will receive from Nexamp. Once the balance is paid, your account is fully canceled and there will be no further action needed. We thank you for your time and hope this is able to resolve your needs. If you have additional questions regarding your Nexamp account, you can reach our support team at ************ or ********************************* We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM 6:00 PM EST.

I am having serious problems with their billing process. I have called customer service almost every month since I became a member of this company. NO HELP THERE. Recently I paid by credit card a bill that was due August 8, 2023, paid by the end of July **** days early because I wanted to get it over. Within a few days I received another bill now due September 2. The receipt of the next bill was BEFORE the paid bill was due. It is now August 4.So, over time, bills that started being due at the end of the month are now due at the beginning of the month.NEXAMP NEEDS TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THEIR BILLING DEPARTMENT SOON!

      Nexamp

      Date: 08/09/2023

      Hi ********,

Thank you for providing your feedback.

As you have noticed, Nexamp does not send invoices to our customers on the same day of every month. The main reason for this is because Nexamp does not bill a customer until we receive confirmation from your utility, Central ************ that credits have been placed on your account. This critical information is received at different times throughout the month and is unfortunately out of the control of Nexamp.

When invoices are generated, we certainly try our best to space out the bills in a reasonable fashion, so they are not received too frequently or slow. Please note that regardless of when the invoice is received you will always have 30 days to pay the balance, and every credit that was placed on your utility account was provided to you at a 15% discount.

We suggest that if there is any overlap in invoice dates that you should always pay the Current Charges for this Period figure of your oldest open invoice to avoid confusion. Additionally, within your Nexamp account online, you can always see the individual invoice amounts and relevant due dates. As a general rule, Nexamp does not charge late fees or interest and we always try to be accommodating to customers payment patterns. This will not lose your ability to still receive new solar credits as expected, and your account is all set to continue to see savings moving forward.

We hope this information was useful given your situation, however you are welcome to reach back out if any further questions arise. You can reach our support team at ************ or ********************************* We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM 6:00 PM EST.

The worst decision I have ever made is community solar with nexamp! They promised Id save but my bill is $200.00 more a month. I have never paid a monthly electric bill to my electric company for $1,300.00, but I have paid that to this rip off company! *** tried to cancel and was told it would take 3 months before I could cancel, so I said fine cancel it! Its been 4 months and they still have me as their customer!! National Grid says they cant help me, Nexamp promises to help but doesnt. Ive reported this all to the proper authorities at MAGOV they dont seem to know what to do! This is stressing me out.

These are questions I asked of NexAmp, with no responses. I was having some e-mail exchanges with a representative but the responses stopped after I posed these questions. My issue had to do with my energy credits expiring after one year. Where in the contract for signing onto NexAmp was the mention of credits expiring? I never saw anything about this, I would like to see where this was disclosed, it was not at all clear when I signed up. Second, I do not understand why my credits have expired. I have only been with NexAmp for a bit over a year, My first payment for credits was $204.32, surely these credits would have been used within one year. If not, this means I would have been using only about $17 per month for electricity, this makes no sense. How are the credit expirations calculated? It seems that it should be first in, first out, ie. use up the oldest credits first.Third, why do my credits expire? They are not perishable. My heating oil company does not come by at the end of the year and remove any excess oil that I have paid for. It is outrageous that you charge me for power I am not using and then assert that they have an expiration date. Lastly, going back to my heating oil example, my heating company keeps a cash reserve of my over payments, they carry this balance over from year to year, AND they pay me interest on the funds of mine that they hold. Should not NexAmp be serving their customers well by allowing them to 1) roll over excess spent funds at the end of a year and 2) pay to the customer interest that is being earned by their accumulated deposits that exceed usage. If NexAmp chooses not to do this, then what is the customer's incentive to allow NeAmp to hold our cash--especially since it can be "expired?"

      Nexamp

      Date: 07/17/2023

      Hi ******,

Thank you for expressing your feedback regarding your Nexamp account. Our team works extremely hard to provide a positive experience for all our customers, and we will use this information for future improvements.

      Regarding your signed Nexamp contract, there is a section on page 8 which covers the state of ****** guidelines for community solar programs. Within the details, it states that Any unused credits expire after 12 months, and it is also listed on page 3 of your Versant bill each month. If you would like to read more information regarding the program details, we would suggest going to the State of ****** website which lists these regulations: *************************************************************************************************;

As you can gather, this ruling is not a Nexamp-specific choice, but one that is mandated by the state for all solar developers. While we dont have control over Versant removing credits from your account, we can adjust how many solar credits you receive on an annual basis. This is how we can offset as much of your electricity costs as possible while also allowing you to use any additional banked credits before they expire. As our team members have stated to you previously, we have already reduced your share size on our solar farm and are working to get this completed as fast as possible. This means that the solar energy credits you produce after July will be significantly lower, which can allow you to use your remaining kWh credit bank.

In the meantime, we do recognize that you have lost out on credits that you have previously paid for. To assist during this adjustment period, we have placed a $100 credit on your Nexamp account. This was used to pay the majority of your current balance. We hope this helps make up for the expired credits from your Versant account.

Moving forward, we will use your feedback to campaign for a more forgiving regulatory structure to better ensure customers can maximize their savings with community solar. We hope the steps we are taking can help resolve your previous concerns about the situation. Down the line, you are always welcome to let our team know if anything else is needed.
