Purchased a used transmission from *** on March 10th, 2023 for $2094.75. Delivery timeframe was **** business days, however, it was delivered after 15 business days. It seems they did not actually have the transmission at their warehouse and had to source one, so they charged us for a part that they technically could not provide - FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. The mechanic working on my car inspected the transmission and found that it was faulty and could not be used so he did not install it into my car. Again, FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICES. We called the *** warranty department to either 1) get a new functional transmission sent to us or 2) get our refund. They gave us the run around for several weeks, then closed out our case without resolution or explanation. We had to call back and start the **************** again. And again, they have been giving us the run-around. Their faulty transmission was shipped back to their warehouse 2 weeks ago and they still have not issued a refund.Business Response

****************. We shipped a transmission to you that had undergone testing, inspection, and was in proper working condition. However, upon receiving the transmission, you contacted us to report that it was defective. We acknowledged your complaint and requested proof and valid documentation to proceed with either a replacement or a refund. Regrettably, your mechanic failed to provide us with any service documents or pictures of our merchandise, instead sending us pictures of your old transmission.
At this stage, you stepped in and provided the necessary documentation as per our request. Following our policy, we arranged for the pickup of our merchandise. Once we received and inspected the unit, we discovered that it had been tampered with and several internal parts were missing. As a result, your warranty claim was rejected because tampering with the unit voids the warranty. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this situation.Customer Answer

The transmission was not tampered with by the mechanic. He had to take it off the crate and inspect it prior to installing it in the car - so obviously it was opened and inspected. The *** manager cannot provide documentation that the transmission was in working condition prior to shipping it to me. As such, I do not accept ***'s claim that it was working prior to shipment. Their claim that the mechanic cannot provide any documentation for the transmission is also false as *** never contacted the mechanic even though the manager said he would in order to resolve the issue. He also verbally promised to refund us as soon as they receive the transmission back. They now have their transmission back and can re-sell it back someone else, while also keeping our $2094.75. This seems to be a typical practice for them, based on previous complaints on here.

I ordered a transmission from Ready to Start Auto Parts, They told me it would be delivered in 7 days. I ordered it on 3/15/2023 and received it on 4/18/23. My technician put the transmission in and it was locked up. The vehicle wouldnt move foreward of backwards. I called the company and this is where it went bad. They tell me that I have to take to a ** dealier and have it look at. I did that, the ** dealier told them that it needs a transmission. This company is the worst!!! Now they are asking for receipts!!!!REALLY!!!! They dont want to warranty this transmission. After looking at all the complaints I should have never purchased from them.Business Response

I purchased an LS motor for my Chevrolet Silverado 5.3l, in January of this year. I had to save the money up in order to have the motor installed in my truck. After taking the motor to the shop they dismantled the motor and found that the valves on the intake were full of water, the stems of the valves and the valve seats were corroded. I was informed that it would cost $1,500 in order to do the valve job to repair the motor so I could install it in my truck. Ready to Start guaranteed me that they had this motor, running and operating and was was ready to install when I purchased it from them. They also said that they pressure wash every motor before it gets shipped. I assume that is where the water got in, because it was in there for awhile. I paid the sum of $1,095 for the motor. So now I am left with having to do a valve job on a motor that was supposed to be ready to install in my vehicle. Instead of costing $2,000 to install the motor in my truck it is now costing me $3,500. I contacted ready to start to find out if this warranty would cover it, they said it did, and made an offer of $300 to cover my valve job. I asked if there was any way that they could cover at least half of $750 and I would cover the rest. The customer service representative, *******, said he would have to get permission from some one higher up. He came back to me with the offer of $300 again. I asked to speak with a representative that was higher up then him, (not that he wasn't doing a good job, he was), ******* put me in touch with a ****** in customer relations the next day. *** listened to my side, and after I told him I do many reviews on ****** for the businesses I deal with, at which point he got aggressive and began to yell and talk over me that he will not be threatened while I calmly tried to explain, he was saying that there was no way he could pay me that much after he paid for the shipping and didn't charge me a core charge and gave me a deal, finally hanging up on me.Business Response

I purchased an engine from this company with the impression that I would have a 3 year warranty and an engine with less than 36k miles on it. I was not aware when getting the engine installed that there were issues with the engine. The old mechanic at J and N auto didnt make me aware that the engine was no good. They said they just installed it. From the date of installation the car was still running rough and so I got other repairs done thinking it would resolve the issue. I was told by my Mechanic at Royal auto that the engine was bad has a bad timing chain and that was the knocking noise I heard. I told him I just purchased the engine and was told it was like new with less than 30k miles he said cant be the timing chain is warped this engine is no good. I was also told it had a 3 year warranty on it. After receiving the invoice it says the warranty is 90 days . I couldnt cancel the order because I would be charged 25% of what I paid and very unfair. Tried emailing and contacting them by phone and spoke with their very rude head of operations guy by the name of ************************* who from the time he answered my call was very rude and had his aggressive tone towards me. I spoke with him in a manner I wanted to be dealt with he claims I was demanding and never once was I. I asked about the things that was told to me and he took offense . Never have I dealt with such unpleasant people in customer service. I spent too much money to have my car operating properly. I have the receipts and just want my money back so I can get a new engine with a better warranty.Business Response

Hi, ********************** We're sorry to hear about this experience and will certainly look into it. Unfortunately, we're unable to give you a resolution as your order is way out of warranty. We had this merchandise delivered on 10/10/22 and we offer a standard warranty of 90 days starting the day you receive the merchandise. Any defects or damages have to be reported within the given warranty timeframe. And we haven't received any kind of communication from your end about any engine troubles until 05/08/23 which is way after your warranty ran out. Attached is a copy of your invoice with our warranty policies. We never promise any of our clients a warranty beyond 90 days. The invoice was sent to you the same day as the order was placed and you've received 8 emails updating you with the status of the order. And we've never received any complaints or cancellation requests from you until this month. The engine came out of a running vehicle and was tested and inspected, guaranteed to fit and work. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. We'll be happy to help you with a good discount if you're considering buying a replacement engine,. In no way did we intend on being rude. We were just trying to be clear about the warranty terms.Initial Complaint

On April 10th, I reached out to Ready To Start to purchase a transmission for my 2019 ****** Highlander. I paid $2954 for the unit. I was very specific that I needed the transmission within a week. They stated they could accommodate **** days **** which i agreed to. Initially the order and progress was going totally fine. I received the receipt for my purchase via email. On their website progress chart I could see the order was PROCESSING. After a week or so the progress chart move to READY TO SHIP. It is now day 18, the progress chart is back to PROCESSING, Ive called numerous and continue to get a run around. Their latest excuse is they hired a 3rd party company to deliver the unit and havent been able to contact the company to get a tracking number. *** asked for a refund and theyve ignored my request. Numerous times Ive called to no answer to hung up on after being put on hold for over 30min. I simply want my money returned, so I can go elsewhere to find the unit. This company is NOT RELIABLE or TRUSTWORTHY!!!!Business Response

Hi, ******. We're really sorry about your experience with the delayed shipment. Everything happened with the schedule and in a timely manner until the unit reached the transit. There was an unfortunate delay caused by the 3rd party shipment company we used to ship your merchandise out which resulted in the long waiting period. This is to confirm that your transmission is delivered at '***************************************' successfully. We regret the inconvenience caused and will ensure this will not repeat.Customer Answer

We were quote a price for a transmission of $2150 around April 1st. When we went to purchase the transmission on the 6th they charge ** for another customers order of $1050. We tried to tell them it was the wrong order but they were in such a hurry that they processed it any way and had to make a second charge that was way over the quoted price. The second charge was$1627. Which totaled$2677.00 They said they would refund the overage but they never did until I disputed the charges with my bank. We cancel the order because the part never came and now they still owe me a refund of $1100. And I have spoken to this company about this at least a half dozen times. They promise things but dont deliver what they say.Business Response

My family purchased a 2007 GMC Acadia transmission from this company on March 3rd 2023 for the price of $1,433.93. It took a lot longer than we were initially told but a man from the company called ** every 48 hours with updates stating during one of the phone calls "why would I call you every 48 hours with updates if this was a scam?". That alone was enough to raise some red flags. Regardless, they sent ** photos of a nice, cleaned up, transmission with supposedly low mileage, it seemed just a little too good to be true. We approved the photos and received the transmission, very eager to get it into the car considering this car has been out of commission for a while. After about 5 days of work, the transmission is in, only one problem, it doesn't work. The car was driven down the street after the job was completed and immediately broke down. You can imagine my family's disappointment when we realize this company really was a scam, as MANY other reviews have stated. My father contacted the company to tell them the transmission was bad within 2 weeks of receiving it. We were given a 2 month warranty on it so that is well within the proper timeframe. The company has done nothing but try to make ** jump through hoops to get a refund. First we had to take the car to a transmission shop and have them report back to the company, confirming the faulty transmission. This was done. However, the company is now stating that the codes they received are incorrect and when/if they take it back they need to do a full check on it to make sure we didn't do anything to it. Seems to me like they may use this as a way to refuse a refund to **. They told my father, who is a mechanic of 30 years, that he did not know what he was talking about and were being very dismissive during the whole phone call. They also told my father that if he used profanities during the phone call they would block our number. They sold ** and many other people faulty products, they need to be held accountable.Business Response
