I was over 21 minutes on my parking and when I asked the attendant if I could pay the additional parking fee, I was told I had to pay the citation or file an appeal with the company. The citation cost is $63.00 and I feel that is quite costly fir being 21 minutes late. I did appeal it but I knew it was like spitting in the wind and it coming back hitting you in the face after reading all these other complaints on BBB site. This was our first time in Maine and I didn't know how there regulations worked on parking. I did not receive any type of receipt at the time of paying, only after time ran out and I git a citation. This business seem corrupt fining people so much money for a 21 minute parking violation. I would have gladly paid an extra hour if the attendant would have let me. But I see how visitors are treated by the way the attendant talked to me in regards to this situation. I feel they should go through some type of class on how to be polite and talking to a customer, instead of brushing you off to get back to gossiping to another attendant.Business Response

I parked in a lot on ********************* in ******** and went and paid directly in front of my vehicle to a parking payment station and paid the parking amount. Then I received a citation and after looking all around saw another parking payment location against the side of a building in the dark well away from my vehicle and very difficult to see. We are seniors and could not see this location and there was a payment kiosk directly on front of our vehicle that we paid into. We paid and put a receipt in our dashboard and received a ticket. We are shocked how confusing this is and feel this is not fair since we paid and still received a ticket.Customer Answer

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. They ony say I cannot appeal and that the fine is increased by 40 dollars because we did not pay . They do not provide a phone number or a mailing address to contact anyone.I am attaching a picture of the citation and also of the payment I made to the meter directly in front of my vehicle by about 15 feet. There is no indication that this is not the correct meter. I paid and put the ticket on my dashboard. After receiving the citation I looked around the area about about 75 feet to the left next to the wall of a building which was not well lit I noticed another meter. There was no way to understand that the meter we paid was not the correct meter. ************ is about threatening and increasing the price and done not provide any contact information except to pay the fine. Please help this is just wrong.

1. United Parking Parters intentionally violates their own appeal policy. My parking ticket states there is a 7-day time window for appeals. I was ticketed yesterday afternoon at 3:49pm on August 31st. Today is September 1st, and the online portal says my appeal window has closed, less than 24 hours laternot 7 days. I strongly suspect this is done intentionally to force those ticketed to pay, regardless of the fairness or accuracy of the ticket.2. United Parking Partners (***) has zero contact information listed on their website. The number offered by the BBB goes to a prerecorded message, hold music, and then hangs up. The recording mentions to resolve the ticket on their portal, but since there is no option to appeal, that is impossible. 3. At the time I parked to go to work, the parking kiosk was covered with a fabric covering, and was posted as out of service. I parked at 1:50pm. While on my shift, someone must have removed the "out of service" covering on the payment kiosk, and ticketed my vehicle at 3:50pm. I had no opportunity to move my vehicle while the signage was changed just 2 hours into my shift. 4. I am an employee of a local business, and regularly park in an employee lot that is connected to two lots owned by United Parking Partners (199 Main St. and 175 Main St). It might even be a part of the *** lots, there is no posted signage to differentiate between them. *** is renovating one of their connected lots (199 Main St.) so it's closed. Construction vehicles working on renovating the *** lot, parked in my employee parking lot, filling up the remaining spaces. So, I parked in the lot of ***********., attempted to pay at the kiosk, despite the fact that ***-hired vehicles were parking in my parking space, but it was out of service. As mentioned above, I was then ticketed when that fabric cover was removed during my shift.- In response to any of the 4 unscrupulous activities outlined above, I want *** to remove or refund the fine on my account.Business Response

Hello, the area in which you were ticketed is only open to the public on nights and weekends and is permit parking only during the day which is why the meter would have been covered. I parked in the *************** parking this past weekend and was double charged. I notified the attendant and he said it would take two business days to issue a refund. There is no refund and no sign of a pending refund. $42.80 x2 is nothing to shake off, especially since these dirt bags are ripping several people off daily given their poor reviews.Business Response

Today I parked on **************** in ******** Maine. I paid to park for 1 hour. Came back early, $63 citation on my car. The company was Unified parking partners. No one answers the phone at this business and they have no email.I did contact *************** who said it's a privately owned company and they get a lot of complaints about this company. I parked inside lot on July 28, 2022. I paid to park and put the ticket on my window the lot was overgrown and *****. I parked in front of a park concrete stop. I did not have a citation on my car. Today I received a delinquent payment in the mail from Flparkingco. It was for $63 and said I parked in two spaces. I cant believe ******* would give these people a license to do business like this. Hello, I received a parking violation ticket in the mail today from a private lot on ********** Beach. I parked my car there after paying $30 to park for a few hours on July 22, 2022. The ticket I received from ******* Parking Company is for littering for $50. I received the actual ticket on 8/23/2022 and it is already late and I cannot appeal and now the fine is $103.00. They have attached four photos to the citation that show a used diaper laying on the ground by my car. This was not us, we do not have babies and do not use diapers. We utilized a parking lot service by ******* Parking Co *************) on August 6th, 2022.This was in the Treasure Island/***** Pass area. We accessed the lot and I went thru the process of purchasing one hour of parking at a cost of $7.70.After about 45 minutes we realized we would be there longer then a hour so I walked back to the lot to purchase another hour of parking. I had just used the machine so was familiar with the process. I could not get the all day parking option off of the screen and canceled and restarted 3 times. I finally thought maybe I was not remembering correctly and finally hit next hoping for more options but the machine charge me for $33.00 good until 2 AM. This of course frustrated me and I was going to dispute this charge. When we returned to our car I had a citation for $63.00, $43.00 if paid by a certain date. At this point I noticed a parking lot attendant issuing citations. I called him over to ask why I had a citation and told him what had happened earlier. He entered in my rental car license plate number and said it showed there were no purchases for that plate. I told him it appeared my card had been charged. He told me I could call after I could review my credit card. I could see the license plate from the machine and the odds of entering it in wrong twice seems quite slim to me. I reviewed my credit card statement after we returned back to ****************. I had a charge for $7.70, $33.00 and then $43.00 for the citation. I called the number for ******* Parking 3 times. The phone would ring for a while and then I would receive a greeting stating if no one has answered everyone must be very busy and I could leave a message but the answering service company would not be able to answer any questions concerning parking citations (appears to be a well utilized subject) and to contact via the internet address on the citation with your citation number which I no longer have.At this point the ******* Parking Company seems veryCustomer Answer

You only get a answering machine and they state it will go to a answering service who cannot answer questions. They do not appear to want to talk to people.
My credit card company gave me credit for one of the complaints.

Hello, my name is *************************, and Unified Parking Partners called to tow my car around 9:30pm on 8/12/22. It is a white ******* Macan with ******** plate number ALPJ85. I was parked in a parking lot off of ***************** behind Holy Donuts. The towing company informed us that UPP authorized this because my car was blocking a walkway, however there were no marked walkways around us, nor were there any signs stating that we could not block a walkway. There was also a car parked in front of where we parked. The only sign for parking there stated that we needed to pay for parking- which we did. I had to uber to the towing company to retrieve my vehicle late that night and paid $200 for a violation I did not commit. For reference I have attached pictures of all posted signs by UPP stating the terms of parking, as well as a copy of my receipt of payment for 2 hours of parking and the towing fee. I also need reimbursement for the parking ticket I got on top of the towing for invalid parking. I need an immediate reimbursement for my towing fee ($200) + the parking fee ($17) + parking ticket ($43) totaling $260. I called the number posted on the signs in the parking lot for UPP, and it was a disconnected line. Since that day, I have called the corporate office and email, and have had no resolution. We have voided your citation and we can refund your payment for parking if you were to send over the last four digits fo the the CC that you used. In discussion with the area manager your vehicle was not parked in a designated parking area and was preventing other vehicles from leaving the parking location. With no other way to reach you, your vehicle needed to be removed. The office is open from 9-5 Monday through Friday and there is an answering service for after hours. Parking monopoly in ********, Maine that does not give the option to park hourly at their meters, solely all day parking for 25$; I was there half an hour. There are misleading more/less time buttons on meter that do not work. Uniformed private attendants walk around causing intimidation to pay once parked regardless. I expect total reimbursement and/or this business to be dissolved. Countless negative reviews and bad practices described online. A private enterprise should not make money on public parking like this to begin with.Business Response
