Notice of parking violation received 5/14/2024. Violation issued 01/22/2023. #********. Over 1 year later! Rental car issued parking ticket. Location not specified. On Friday evening May 24, 2024 I used a parking meter space operated by UPP Global in **************, ** and paid $10.57 for one hour. On Sunday evening on May 26, 2024, I used the same parking lot but was charged $47.08 even though I was only parked for 20 minutes. I tried to cancel the transaction but the meter did not allow it. I contacted UPP Global in the hopes of obtaining a partial refund but they were uncooperative and they kept telling me that they were a private run company and they can charge whatever they want to. Prior to contacting UPP Global, I contacted the town of **************, ** thinking that the parking meter was operated by the town. Hello, thank you for reaching out. We have confirmed that all of our lots, as well as our meters, display very clear language as far as pricing, location of available parking, and everything necessary between so that our customers are well informed. The city town hall representative in charge of parking has confirmed for us that they are in fact not giving anyone false information about the location of our lots or city lots. This is apparent in the site maps that are available to the public.
Additionally, as a privately owned company, we reserve the right to charge for parking whatever rate is appropriate. This variable pricing is based on the traffic to our lots, and can also change due to events and holidays.

On 05/24/24, I parked in ********. I paid $27.50 with my credit card for 3 hours of parking. Despite this, I received a ticket for $63 just 35 minutes after making the payment. Upon researching, I discovered that this issue is quite common, with numerous complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). It appears to be a scam, as the company issues tickets to every parked car without verifying their payment. They even offer a 30% discount for early payment of the fine, attempting to intimidate people into paying quickly. This unethical practice is clearly their profit mechanism. This company should either be closed down or heavily fined for their actions. I suggest fining this company $63 for every unjust ticket they issue. Otherwise, they will not change! Additionally, the parking fees are ridiculous: a 3-hour minimum with a mandatory 10% tip! What service are they providing? The tickets?Business Response

Hello, we have reached out to the ****** and found his payment. We informed him the meter batched out his payment after a period of time. We also told him this is why enforcement gave him a citation because they could not see the payment. The citation has been voided.

04/27/24: ******************* **. Paid $22 for parking, returned to car within the 2 hr timeframe, have credit card receipts that fee was paid, parked appropriately. when returned to car 2 citations. 1 for expired/non payment, 1 for using up 2 spaces, both were printed @ 6:31pm so on a payment for 2 hrs they are already ticketing for expired timescam # 1. It was very clear to both myself and my company in tow that I was parked in a proper physical space for 1 car scam #2. These citations then give you 3 days to pay then it goes up $20 each time, to a *** of $83 along with the threat that non payment could affect your credit and stop you renting a car or renewing your license or registration. This is nothing short of harassment and intimidation, I have emailed the City of Wilmington who wash their hands becuause they are a private company, but I have also written to the Attorney General of **************, this has to stop, its fraudulent. This Florida Parking Company has been buying property and setting up predatory parking fees and methods of collection. My first experience with them was Feb 1 2022 and the second, Feb 1 2024 both at CB's Outfitters Siesta Key.The first was a parking lot behind CB's where they bought an old bank, torn it down and built a parking lot. Visit one, equipment was not working after many attempts, and neither was the phone number listed to call, but their ticket issuer was working as one appeared on my rental car. I sent them a letter and their reply was to bill my rental car company, at a 20% premium.Visit two was at the same place as visit one, this time I was told by CB's where to park (a different lot) because it was a Sunday. I returned to another ticket. I complained to CB's but mailed a check to the address on the ticket within a week 2/6/2024. I received the envelope returned to sender last week 4/10/2024. I received an electronic charge plus 20% on my card from the rental company today 4/18/2024. I am disputing it but would like BBB and my next step will be Florida's Attorney General to stop this company in its tracks! CB gave **** false information causing him to get a citation in our lot. I recently parked at a UPP Global lot on 4/12/24 located at ********************************************. We pulled into the lot and noticed the Lot Attendant on a ***************** Bike he had the printing device/ citation writer on his belt. He watched us scan the barcode on the parking sign stating PAY HERE thats why I didnt talk or deal with the attendant. We paid ***** for two hours and received a text stating paid at 6:40 pm. We exited the lot and walked downtown. While walking downtown the same lot attendant ran my wife and I off the sidewalk with his electric bike. I never spoke to the attendant so not sure why he did this. When returning to our vehicle at approximately 8:30 pm I noticed a citation on the windshield it was written at 6:42 pm. Two minutes after we paid. I believe this is a Scam tactic for UPP Global. The attendant tried to write the citation before we could pay on the app. The citation was for ***** for Nonpayment/ Expired. My wife and I were on vacation and to deal with this type of Scam is totally uncalled for.Business Response
