below posted on 10/6 but not observed on BBB website on 10/16 or acknowledged by New West so reposting:Changed from an Anthem EPO plan to an Anthem PPO plan on July 1 and have been unable to have my prior physician assigned as my ******* Care Physician (***) on the Anthem website since Anthem says the doctors office needs to contact Anthem to update info. The list of actions to date are as follows:7/19: left message on portal 7/27: hand delivered a note to the receptionist with a transcript of chat session with Anthem 8/12: call/email to Person 1 who said their boss would be notified 8/19: no response, sent follow up email to Person 1 for status 8/19: an FMH communication was received but the message was blank 8/23: email response from Person 1 who said no word back yet from boss. A second email received indicating that doctor can now be added as ***. This report is incorrect - still not able to add.8/24: receive response from Person 1 with a *** ID of ******. Anthem says not valid.8/25: Portal email from Person 2 saying issue is being worked and provides phone number if questions 9/1: No word from Person 2 so reached out to Anthem again for updates. Anthem indicated Doctor *** still not in their system and re-iterated that the office needs to call Provider services. Responded to Person 2 portal message with that info.9/16: still no updates so attempted to contact Person 2 via the provided phone number on multiple occasions but got busy signal.9/16: sent copy of Person 2 email to Person 1 and asked that my email be forwarded since I was unable to leave a voicemail. Person 1 acknowledges email and will forward.9/23: still no word from Person 2 and phone line continues to give a busy signal. email sent to person 1 requesting alternate contact 10/6: no response from person 1 or 2 and person 2 phone still gives busy signal. Now assuming Person 2 has no intention of fixing busy signal to accept incoming calls.

I am a transgender female and everytime I talk to these people they always misgender me. I have been with them for at least a year although I believe it may be longer. Everytime they call me or I call them,.... They are absolutely guaranteed to misgender me. I have spoken with supervisor after supervisor and they have all said that they have listed in my file at my pronouns or she and her. But it makes no difference how many times I go through this ordeal. They are still going to miss gender me. Today I talk to a lady trying to find out doctors to provide coverage for my transgender care and even though I told the lady that I was a transgender female she still called me sir and Mr. * asked her why she was doing that and she said that it was her training basically. So for at least a year I've been complaining to one supervisor after another. I have spoken with more than five of them. But nothing is changing at this place at all. I suppose they don't really want us as customers. I don't know. Maybe they have a lot of people there that want to make fun of my voice or make sure that I know that I was born a male? I don't know. I know that I see therapy for it and they make it worse all the time. I have a medical condition called gender dysphoria and these people make it absolutely worse. And they are part of my medical situation. I have to talk to them to get the medical care that I need. And these people are making my medical condition worse every time I talk to them. This is absolutely an awful situation that month after month gets no better. Meanwhile I've noticed that the doctor's ****** themselves and ******* and all other places just about in society are getting it, that there are other people in this world besides binary genders. And they're starting to not use pronouns with people on the phone. That's how they're being trained now. But apparently not UnitedHealth care. I don't understand? I guess they don't want us, trans people?

When a person with ***** has to wait for over three days to get an antibody shot because United Health care takes is time to authorize it they are endangering peoples lives. This is just one of their problems, you can file a complaint but they will just not respond until you call back multiple times.

We unfortunately recently switched to this joke of a prescription company. They wont approve the meds my husband has been prescribed and taking for years. Then when his dr jumps through their hoops with alternatives he hse never tried, they deny that too. I suppose my husband will have to be hospitalized for their failure to dispense the meds he is prescribed by his doctor! At that point they will be sued. They are a joke and are only in the business of getting rich while denying the medications people stuck with them, have been taking for years!!

We had a baby girl in 2021. Since this was our second child my wife decided to breast feed. Within a month of being born my daughter was admitted into a hospital because she was not eating, lethargic, little to no crying and not displaying typical newborn baby behavior. In the hospital the doctors concluded a frenectomy was required so the baby could latch and feed properly. Her body was reacting to not having enough nutrients and this was due to the ************ tie. While most insurance companies treat these as "Cosmetic" surgeries, They are imperative to remove for proper breastfeeding. UMR Denied Coverage without even looking into the specific situation with no exceptions to our policy. Even though the tongue/lip tie's were required for our newborn to eat, it was not covered by UMR. I am writing this formal complaint as they make no exceptions and their appeal process is always put in favor of UMR. They put in the denial letter "appeals are reviewed by a URAC-******************************* without any other information and no proof this was actually done" If you have this insurance be warned, they do not care about their customer's.

My husband and I have been dealing with UHC for over half of the year in regards to them showing incorrect deductible and out of pocket amounts on our policy which is causing providers to see incorrect information and therefore charging us. We have brought this to the attention of UHC multiple times and every time a deductible review is started and the amounts are even more incorrect than when it was initiated. This is a constant issue and we have made over a dozen calls to have this corrected- received emails from reps stating that we have in fact met the deductibles and maxes for our policy and we are constantly refused any corrections even with proof on the account that we have paid the needed amounts. This is very sad as we have gone through fertility treatments and losses this year and have more than paid our needed amounts and are still forced to pay more than is required because our insurance refuses to help us with errors on their end.

I had a claim sent to them for $6000 and they paid only $420 after my deductible was met. They do not respond to anything in a timely manner. Ive attempted to contact them via email and their message option on their website (the website is trash btw) and I havent heard anything back. I do not have 6 hours to wait on hold again and be switched to multiple representatives. As a company that deals with health care, there is no acceptable reason to be ignoring claims and not returning messages. It could literally mean life and death for myself. I cant make appointments at the hospital because I owe too much money because UMR bills you after the deductible has already been met and doesnt cover what they said they would. They also have a list of in-network doctors that end up being out of network. It is unethical and should be illegal.

Their app does not tell you the true cost of care. I went to an **, the app said I had a $250 copay and did not list any other expenses for the ** visit. So I was shocked when I got a bill for almost $2500! And of course, United Healthcare says that is my plan and what I owe. Also, when I looked up pricing for a prescription medication I am taking, it shows that I can get my medication for $160 for a 90 day supply. But ********* is charging me $210. When I called United Healthcare, they said that I owe $210 and they dont know why it says $160 on THEIR website on MY login!!

If I could give 0 I would. Every month my doctor puts in the request for my sublocade shot to ship. And every single month it is late even though they have 3 whole weeks to process and send it. As of right now, my shot is nearly 2 weeks late! How does that benefit my health? As a specialty pharmacy, their ONE job to is full prescriptions! I haven't even the slightet idea when I will receive my delivery now. The longer it goes on, the more sick I become and the more at risk I am. This company should not be allowed to run the way they do. Every since my doctor switched to them there has been this problem. I would change to another if I could.

Optum Rx is a NO STAR COMPANY. Horrible company to have to deal with. The people they have answering calls read from a script and cannot answer simple questions. Very frustrating. It took several MONTHS to get to get close to understanding the medications my son needs and still mess it up. Im very sad that my insurance uses this terrible vendor. Even doctors offices has expressed how horrible it is to deal with them. Had I filled a medication through Optum, it would have cost over $400.00 but through a local pharmacy, the cost was $30.00. Shame on United Healthcare for requiring the use of Optum.
