I had an issue between UHC and UMR in paying my bills within the last 2 years. UHC assured me in the beginning that everything was straightened out it was just a matter of getting UMR to switch back to ******** Advantage as the primary, and they would start having the medical facilities resubmit their claims. But they didn't and then I fought for 2 years trying to get them to pay over 2 grand worth of bills which THEY SHOULD HAVE covered by the insurance agreements. Long story short I had to fork out over **** bucks I should not have paid. If I didn't it would be turned over to collections. I don't pay premiums for my good health. I expect to pay what I am supposed to, and the Insurance companies pay and live up to what they print on their policies. Ripped off royally by the big powerful rich ****** Health Care Insurance brokers again!

Run! If I could put -10stars I would! Theyre making me pay $1,800 for activating their insurance for my sons procedure that got CANCELED! Thats right, Im paying for nothing! I called 11 times at ***** minutes a pop and each and every one of their reps said theyd have a supervisor call me. ****, Ive waited 3 months and no calls until today and the woman said, you have 3 days to cancel your coverage activation. Who would know that the doctor would say my son outgrew his condition and didnt need the surgery, but I have to pay anyway? What? RUN FAR away from this company.

This company has an internal policy in which, if you go to a provider and they are not in network with your primary insurance, but ARE in network with UnitedHealth, then UnitedHealth treats that provider as if they are NOT in network. This feels incredibly fraudulent. It shouldn't matter to UnitedHealth if the provider is or is not in network with my primary insurance. UnitedHealth has a duty to cover the expense, as an insurance I PAY FOR, according to In Network policy with them. They ALSO have a policy in which, if you start a policy with another insurance even a DAY before you started a policy with UnitedHealth, then UnitedHealth automatically becomes your secondary insurance. This internal policy with UnitedHealth forces those that require additional coverage to either:1. Start a policy with UnitedHealth first, or 2. ONLY work with providers that are In Network for BOTH your primary insurance AND UnitedHealth I highly recommend that anyone reading this steer CLEAR from UnitedHealth. What a disgrace.

I used BIND, now SUREST, for close to a year as I changed employers and went with this insurance carrier. I have been fighting for close to a month to get claims paid for tests that are covered by my Plan. They claimed I needed PreAuthorization for items that are covered but said it was nothing I could have done to ensure no denials were done in this instance or moving forward. All had to be done by my physician. Everything was done as asked and their independent physician reviewer denied my claims in less than a few days. This individual claimed my testing was unnecessary and wanted proof that it was working or making me better. It is like they are literally claiming my physicians recommendations were invalid when they were needed. This is unacceptable and I have been told there is little to nothing that I can do if they dont agree with my physician. This has never happened before with any other insurance carrier. There needs to be an investigation in their practices since various people have complained about the same behavior.

It appears that United Healthcare group is in the business of frustrating and wearing down their customers when it comes to claim grievances.I had a situation where they had cancelled my coverage, unknown to me, for no legal or legit reason and then reinstated my coverage again, a month later, for no reason. So, according to their records, my coverage had lapsed for a period of one month. Not legally or actually, just according to their incorrect records, according to the error that they had created for my account, in their system.Of course, I was never notified by UH that I had an issue, regarding my insurance lapse. It just so happened that I had a surgical procedure, during this time period, and later found out that the hospital was (ERRONIOUSLY) informed that I did not have insurance coverage during this period.I was informed by UH that my surgical and lab claims were denied. When I investigated, I spent about 10 hours, with a multitude of useless and uncaring customer phone service reps, apparently, only trained on giving me the run-around. They claimed that they had some kind of a computer glitch that changed my records. I PROVIDED MY LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE, INDICATING THEIR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT I WAS COVERED AS OF JAN, 2021. Eventually, I was informed, via E-mail, that their review indicated that I was denied because they had received an appeal before the denial date ??Nobody, to date, at UH can find it in their ability to properly adjust their records, to reflect the correct and accurate date of my insurance coverage. January 2021 is the correct date, but my records still indicate July 2022 So, I am left to pay the bills for procedures that should have been covered by my insurance. This United Healthcare company is simply the worst I have ever been subjected to in my entire life at age 66. Uncaring, unethical and professionally skilled at frustrating customers through their convoluted customer grievance process.

United Healthcare is refusing to cover my husband's PET scan that his doctor says is medically necessary. They are saying after multiple denials that unless my husband has Alzheimers they won't cover it. My husband is very sick and the doctor says it is necessary and time is of the essence- his last denial was legally binding but his denial had incorrect information about him- wrong age- etc... This is an absolute joke- United Healthcare needs to start treading Covid Long Haulers with more respect because the neurological issues they have is absolutely heartbreaking and they haven't updated their system to account for people like him.

ZERO stars! TEN months ago I suffered 2 seizures (breaking 8 vertebrae from my fall in the process) and have received ZERO care from UHC. Have spent days and days on the phone with various supervisors/case mangers and escalating to every level possible (including filing state complaints and calling Senator ******* office). Today was my THRID primary they've tried to send me to (the other 2 removed themselves from "the network" {telling sign huh?} prior to me seeing them) and not only were the drs not there today, UHC had set appointment at a different location AN HOUR away. If I wrote the entire story, its completely negligent, has to unlawful, and unbelievable that you crooks are able to get away with this. "Healthcare Company", Only thing this company "cares" about is denial of claims and peer to peer reviews, negation of below-******** rates with drs to have an in-accessible "network" and profiting as much as possible. LEAVE UHC as soon as possible

Hiding behind HIPPA won't stop this info from being publicly available for the lack of "care" that UHC offers. I just received a call from a well-intending person at UNITED HEALTH GROUP's consumer affairs. Letting me know that they STILL cannot help me/follow up with non-existent PCP that I've been TRYING to get in (4 different drs now, they keep pulling out of "the network" must be telling sign. OR that you negotiate below ******** rates and promise make it up with volume of patients. So drs are working twice as hard for half the $? No wonder they don't care). Criminally egregious "health care", run from these people ...

They've been giving me and the HR department the run around for months while I've been trying to cancel my insurance, all while continuing to tale money from my check. Half the time I call, I don't get the waiting music either. I get silence then hung up on. The other half of the time they are rude and disrespectful and generally not helpful. They contradict themselves and won't give me any information when I ask. This last call the guy even pretended to stop being able to hear me, then set the phone down and stopped talking. He didn't even hang up like we lost connection, just put it down *** silence. It's like dealing with poorly behaved children that steal your money.
