Husband has this Insurance. He has to have surgery and the Insurance does not cover. So… basically what he has paid 400 plus for monthly is 50.00 worth of meds and 1 MD visit every 3 months that would cost us maybe 100.00. Sad and disgraceful

I'm a new UnitedHealthcare (UHC) member (lucky me). Ever since I signed up I have been hounded to participate in their HOUSECALLS program. On one occasion I talked to the rep and said I'm not in a position to participate and will call if and when I am ready. But I keep getting calls.
On Christmas Eve (!!) I got a robocall saying it's UnitedHealthcare and to call them back about HouseCalls. So I called UnitedHeathcare today to ask if they do robocalls like that, or whether it might have been a scam call, and also to tell them I am not interested. The customer service rep was snappy and unprofessional. I made it clear that I no longer want to be pressured into using HouseCalls and want the calls to STOP. He didn't have any answers so I asked to speak to a supervisor. No one was available, so he said he'd have someone call me. Nothing was resolved on the call. Again I said I want the calls to stop, and asked if he could put me on a "NO CALL LIST"? He said yes!
I said I didn't realize that was an option, and he said, "All you had to do was ask." I said, I just DID.
If he knew I wanted the calls to stop, why didn't he suggest to put me on a no call list? Think about that. Well, the reps need to understand that customers don't know how they operate and hence don't always know the questions to ask. They, the reps, should be competent enough to PROACTIVELY offer helpful options and solutions. Instead, I got minimal and unprofessional service, which has given a bad first impression of UnitedHealthcare. And given the nature of the complaints I am reading here on BBB, I will be changing insurers at the first opportunity.

I pay for my dental insurance myself. I already had my primary insurance in place already it began on my 66th Birthday. So I signed up for GEHA two to three months after open enrollment due to the fact that my daughter told me about it. It was suppose to be a secondarily dental insurance and my dentist accepted it. So thats why I signed up for it. I found out after I changed my main insurance. That they changed my secondary insurance providers and that my dentist no longer supported GEHA. So when I tried to cancel it, they informed me that it automatically sign me up if I did not cancel it ******* open season. I was unaware of this due the fact that I was already sign up for another secondary insurance. I was under the impression that I could cancel at any time since i was paying for it myself and that I signed up out of open season. So I explained to them that I cannot afford GEHA due to the fact that I did not budget for it and that i can longer afford it,they told me that i have to keep them. I stated to them that I will not be paying them and they told me that I will have to face the consequences.

My experiences with Freedom Life were without a doubt the worst experiences I have had with any company. I’m usually not one to write reviews, but I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy and felt the need to protect others from being taken advantage of like I was. Paying over $1000 for simple bloodwork should have been a red flag. Later, I was lied to directly about my benefits, which caused me to get a dental procedure done before my full benefits kicked in. When I inquired about my coverage, I was told if I booked the procedure, it would be covered at 80% and I would be responsible for 20%. Well that wasn’t the case. Apparently I was still in the waiting period, but the rep I spoke with didn’t mention this to me. Appealing the claim did nothing, as I had to call back every month and retell my story, still with no real answers. I would have been better off seeking care without insurance because not only was I paying full price for my procedures, but was paying a monthly premium them for literally every claim to be denied. 0/10 company, they need to be shut down.

Horrible. Months and months and months and they refuse to accept the additional paperwork to complete the claim. Called prior to procedure, confirmed all CPT codes were going to be covered, confirmed no prior authorization or doctors scrip or anything else was needed... this was in Feb 2024, it is now Dec 2024... and they still have not issued our reimbursement for the out of pocket cost.

In 2017 I filed a complaint against family dental with danitra of UHC. She never followed through with it and stopped taking my calls after the first one. I was in a heart failure program but after Thompson took over it was discontinued with no warning just ripped out from under me and it had been beneficial. Recently I was informed that the landmark in home services I had been given will also be ending by the end of the year. Basically they are nothing more than a money pit and I would advise using someone else. I will be leaving them next year for someone else. They simply don't care unless they profit off of you. The entire industry needs to be regulated

I wish that i could give a zero star. Process was terrible to do cancellation. they have been charging me for months after i called and cancelled all plans. They are STILL charging me. I would absolutely never advise anyone to be insured with this group. Absolutely deplorable service and they now do not have anyone that you can speak to on the phone.

We payed them thousands and they fought every single time we tried to get coverage. They didn’t want to cover my newborn’s doctor visit claiming they couldn’t know if he had previous conditions when he was one day old.
