They deny more claims that any other healthcare provider unfortunately. And they denied my claim for no legitimate reason. They are all bad but their stats are worse.UnitedHealth Group

I get United Health Care through Wells Fargo. They make people get prior authorizations for everything and they said they would stop doing that last year in the Star Tribune or at least cut down on them. I need a back surgery and cannot do anything and I trust my Dr. and he very honest. Dr's laugh at all this stuff because it doesnt save money really with all the unnecessary tests they give you. When you have alot of joint issues you cant do anything and get exercise and so you dont get healthier, whats wrong with you people? My next step is my lawyer friend and our local newspaper. Treat people the way you want to be treated.UnitedHealth Group

This is an accurate and honest review. I have a family of 4. When, myself the buyer ends up in the ER with an infection that required a scan, antibiotics, few nights in the hospital. After my release, they kept calling, they wanted to know if this was an automobile accident or work related!!? They finally sent a form by mail to complete, if not, they WILL NOT PAY!? What happens I missed the mail or got sent to another address!? I been in auto accidents, car insurers/lawyers know what to do! Don't come to me with lame excuses to try to get some other insurers to cover the bill!!! They need to investigate this corrupted establishment.UnitedHealth Group

1 starSCAM, UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. United healthcare has repeatedly sent me marketing packages to sign up. I have no interest in signing up with this company. When I called the 1-800- customer "service" line to be removed from their marketing list, 30 minutes later, I got a text message to the line I called from saying, "Look.# with a Facebook link. When I clunked in the link, it was to a page in a foreign country with a woman sticking her tongue out at me. United healthcare has an Awful reputation. My experience was UNSATISFACTORY. Only if you want to be treated badly, sign up with these SCAMMERS. UNITED Healthcare should be shut down. #Fasr.Review fromDeborah S

I spoke to Val in Customer Service. She was brilliant. Her professional and empathetic manner helped me to maneuver through the ins and outs of a very complicated Teleheath transactional moment in my quest for quality healthcare. She took the time to explain the process and to make my appointment on Christmas Eve, no less! I truly appreciated her kindness and understanding throughout. Val is a valuable representative of your corporation. United Healthcare is fortunate indeed to have someone like her on their support team. Thank you Val. Thank you United Healthcare!! I believe she is in the San Antonio, Texas, regional offices of your company. Please pass my review on to her manager. Thank you.

The worst so called health insurance I have ever had experienced. The whole times and transfer policy is ridiculous. It took me several hours or days to get a problem resolved and if they disconnect the call the representative will not call back so your back on the long hold loop. Any company that handles your Healthcare should have easy access to well trained representatives with proper contact numbers for the members. This is deplorable service and unfortunately Maryland is a state that doesn't have many choices for health insurance. I will highly recommend to run away from this company if you're part of the population that needs consistency.UnitedHealth Group

1 starWhen I was using one of their overpriced insurance plans to cover my grandma's nursing home bills, UnitedHealthCare just canceled the payments for the nursing home without telling me. The only reason I found out was when my grandma called me crying because she was homeless. When I called your representative Matt ******* he told me that they had to cancel my plan because I didn't pay for the dumb programs they pushed after the security breach they had. This is stupid since I'm paying for the Health Care and not other third party websites! After a while he hung up on me and no one would respond to any of my calls for several days. A horrible company who only cares for milking their customers and is just a scam.Review fromJack P

1 starThey found out my data was compromised and told me about it 9 months later. Long time to wait. Especially because I've been a victim of identity theft to some degree in the interim. Wonder how that happened...Review fromJessica A

1 starBy far the worst insurance company that could possibly ever exist. I do not know how they have not been disbanded yet. They are constantly in violation of codes. They deny claims and preauthorizations but will never tell you the reason why. They do it because they can and it puts more money in their pockets. I have spent over 11 hours over the past 3 days on the phone, trying to talk to someone about why a preauthorization was denied. And trying to speak to the appeals department. What has happened? Nothing. I have been transferred over and over, the call has been "disconnected". The people I speak to do not have "access". What a sham of a company. And to think, they're allowed to make more and more money, while they essentially allow their members to go without necessary care. I have filed multiple grievances against them. I will continue to file more. I am reaching out to state representatives and state senators about this. I suggest no one ever insure with United Healthcare, unless you have no choice. And isn't that sick? We have no choice sometimes.Review fromDavid D

1 starUHC denies many procedures and tests that are proved to be necessary and beneficial and that are done and approved for many other patients in the same condition and with the same diseases.
My wife's doctor ordered a liquid biopsy for her from Guardant Health lab, to identify the oncogene mutations that caused progression, and UHC approved the same test for her upon her diagnosis 3 years prior, and by now this test has been approved by FDA and done by the leading oncologists who treat the same ALK-positive lung cancer, like Doctors Ross ******* at the University of Colorado; Vincent *** at John Hopkins; Ignatius ** at University of California, Irvine; Alice **** at Dana ******* Jessica *** at MGH; and many many others.
UHC used pulmonologists like Dr. John ****** MD, who have no knowledge about oncogene-driven lung cancers, instead of lung oncologists, and the "experts" like him know only one thing: DENY, DENY, DENY.
I sent them numerous pages and links with information, but they ignored me.
I have already found the phone numbers and e-mail and physical addresses their executives Brian ******** *nd Andrew ***** and prepared letters and e-mails for them, but Brian Thompson's tragic and unfortunate death interfered with my plans to send my correspondence, so I decided to at least post this review.
I can gladly provide UHC management with more information and facts on our claim and appeals denials, if they wish.
