*** is essentially a scam their agents lie about the amount of parking you payed to then boot your car to extort money from you. The service person I had the misfortune of interacting was clearly on some sort of stimulant over the course of our interaction where I had to pay $200 to get a boot off my car after he made me wait over half and hour for him to get there.Business Response

Boot locking service in visitor spaces in a well frequented apartment complex in **************I parked in a visitor space at the apartment complex and went to my clients apartment perform a tv mounting service. I came back out to find a note and boot in my car, while in the clearly marked visitor space.Called the number and they came promptly to remove the boot, for $200. I was told there were signs visible, there weren't. It was dark and the signed placement is half covered by a ****. The "service person, even overstated with me that they make commission off of the service and that he had locked up every vehicle in the row i was parked in during the last week. This is a shady business practice that u expect in other areas of the country if we're being honest. Also I am white but the fact the company is based in a remote part of the state and this Location i was booted at is in the city and predominantly black, I would not be surprised if that had anything to do with the fact that they think this is acceptable.Business Response

Car was booted on 9/22 in a lot that did not have any posted signage waring me about this. I had to pay the company $200 to remove the boot. It took them over an hour to arrive and remove the boot from my vehicle. The business did not state they were going to make any attempt to fix the issue.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
On September 22, 2024, my vehicle was improperly booted at *************************************Although the boot has since been removed, I believe the immobilization was unlawful for the following reasons:
Permission to Park: I had explicit permission from the lessee of the space to park my vehicle at this location. While the lease agreement does not specify any rules or restrictions regarding guest parking, the lessees consent should have exempted my vehicle from immobilization. According to North Carolina House Bill 871 from the 2015 General Assembly Session (effective July 1, 2016), vehicles parked in a privately owned or leased space with the lessees permission should not be subject to immobilization. If necessary, I can provide a written statement from the lessee confirming that I had permission to park in that lot.Lack of Proper Signage: As outlined in the same bill, the lot should have clear and prominently displayed signs at all entrances, indicating the current name and phone number of the parking immobilization company. However, there were no such signs posted at the entrance to the lot where I parked, as evidenced by the attached video (Lackofsigns.zip).
Additionally, while there are signs posted at adjacent lots, they are not prominently displayed as required by law. These signs are obstructed by surrounding foliage, making them difficult to see. In case this is relevant, I have also attached photographic evidence showing that the signs are obscured and do not meet the standards outlined in HB 871 (coveredsigns.jpg).
Given these violations of North Carolina law, I am requesting a full refund of the fee I paid to have the boot removed. I also ask that your company take the necessary steps to install appropriate signage at any enforced lots that currently lack signs, as well as ensure that any existing signs at nearby lots are prominently displayed and unobstructed.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
Best regards,

Retail parking on 9/14/24 at 7:40 am a boot was put on my car the LMS towing company said that I should register while in the garage this is unsafe the business does not open until 8am. I come here every week now today there is a new rule. This company has F rating clearly someone was watching me leave my vehicle. I am requesting a full refund of $180 immediately.Customer Answer

I have been a patron of Salon Lofts for years never in my history have I had someone sitting waiting for me to exit my vehicle. My registration was done at 7:40 am the boot was put on my vehicle at 7:47 . There's nothing posted to register before exiting your vehicle. It is unsafe to sit in a parking deck let alone someone watching me . I added additional funds of $6 in the event my appointment ran over the 2 hours free time . LMS are crooks the way they speak to people is deplorable as if the practices are ethical. Secondly this is another tactic that *** people knowing that we need our vehicles if you can't pay for the boot to be removed the business will tow your vehicle at your expense . This company has a F rating in which they definitely earned.Business Response

I was moving out of ******************* and parked in the loading dock, I was upstairs for approximately 5-6 minutes and came down to a boot on my car which they refused to remove until I paid $180. I still have the apartment building parking pass on my car and was parked in the same area for hours yesterday with no issues.Business Response

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am filing a formal complaint against *** regarding multiple issues I encountered with their parking services. On Saturday, August 31st, my vehicle, an orange ****** Sentra with the license plate number *******, was improperly booted while parked at Circa Uptown Apartments. My vehicle was still registered at the time of the boot, with a valid expiration time of September 2, 2024, at 12:36:19 AM, meaning there was no reason for the boot to be placed. Upon reviewing my registration, I discovered that LMS's system had incorrectly registered my vehicle in a different location, with a zone number of 2930 instead of the correct zone number of 360 for ************, despite my entering the correct information. This error appears to have been caused by the auto-populate feature in their system. When I contacted *** to report that my vehicle had been improperly booted, I was met with extreme rudeness and dismissiveness from their staff. Despite explaining the situation, they offered no help beyond quoting me a wait time of one hour and 30 minutes for a technician to remove the boot. However, the technician did not arrive until over two hours later, forcing me to wait in a hot parking garage. I was visiting a friend, who had to leave for a scheduled engagement, leaving me without any *************** addition to the poor customer service and delay, I have contacted LMS multiple times via phone and email, providing them with documentation proving that my registration was valid at the time of the boot and requesting a refund for the improper charges. Despite my repeated attempts, I have yet to receive any response.Given the fact that my vehicle was still properly registered, the staff's rude behavior, the extended wait time for service, and the companys failure to respond to my concerns, I am requesting assistance in securing a full refund for the fees I was charged. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely, Jarmiera *****Business Response

Hello,
When registering a vehicle as a visitor through Register2Park it is the vehicle owner's responsibility to select the correct zone and accurately input their vehicle information. The format for the zone selection is "Zone#-Zone Name", the same can be found on the Register2Park signs.

I moved into my apartment complex 6/10/2024 in ** from **. I registered my car with LMS PARKING shortly after I bought a new car. I also registered my temp tags with them with an expiration date of 9/1/24 so I got new temp tags(I didnt know they changed the license plate numbers too) but I had the permit which I laid on my dash for anyone to see it(it mustve fell) I called LMS they were rude, hung up on me multiple times and now they are making me pay more on my card then if I paid in cash which I dont have. This from what I understand goes against the merchant rules and I want it reported and my fee refundedBusiness Response

I park my car in a lot owned by lms parking in *****, ************** in front of my apartment building. yesterday I ran home on a break from work and in the 10 minutes i was home my car was booted. I own a parking pass but apparently i was parked a little outside the white lines and that was the reason to boot. I missed work waiting for the rude driver and the cost to get the boot off was 180 dollars. it would have been 160 dollars if I paid with cash but I could not get to an ATM since my car was booted. there is nothing in my lease about this and these people are absolute scam artists. I also live in ********** housing and have poor eyesight so they preyed on me because of my disability. I would enjoy talking to someone further about how this business has scammed hundreds of not thousands of hardworking people.Business Response

We parked in an apartment complex in ************ with our truck and trailer to pack up our son and bring him home . Our son sent the plate numbers of the truck and the trailer to LMS Parking to get permission to park and not get booted . Unfortunately our son missed one letter on the truck registration and they booted us . The trailer that was attached to the truck was the correct plate , one letter was wrong on the truck plate . We called *** and they said they didnt care and still charged us $180 to unboot us . We were not in violation and common sense was not used . I emailed them and we received no response !!! They were rude and they dont care . How is this even possible for a company to run like this !Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: we were authorized . Both plates were listed at the apartment complex office . The truck had one letter input incorrectly but was connected to the trailer that was correct . Common sense would dictate that the truck belonged to the trailer and vice versa . The person who spoke to us was rude and actually told us we would be lucky if anyone came out in a timely manner . The name also corresponded to the input in the computer . We were not in violation .Initial Complaint

LMS parking is booting the cars of visitors of residents in the ************************ complex even though they are parked in visitor spots. Even after residents inform the company that the cars they have booted are visitors of residents they refuse to remove the boot unless they are paid cash and threaten the car owners with towing if they do not get their money quickly. On 8-24-2024 a visitor of mine was parked in a spot near my apartment clearly marked visitor. They booted her car and the cars of all other visitors parked in that area and refused to remove the boots unless they were paid $180 cash each or $200 by credit card. They claimed there was a new policy that they were just then enforcing requiring visitors to not only park in visitor spots but also scan a ** code and register their cars. There were no signs near those parking spots indicating the new policy or providing the needed ** code.On 8-31-2024 another visitor of mine was parked in a visitor spot. I made sure the ** code was scanned and the car was registered. They still booted his car and demanded $180 cash or $200 by credit card. These predatory parking policies need to be stopped. We have a right to have people visit us at our apartments. The practices of LMS are a blatant money grab against the residents and visitors of ************** in **** pOint, **.Business Response
