Rotten service. Moved to New home in March. In 4 months, called 5 times to complain cans not returned to house; we pay extra for the house PU due to mobility issues. And, adding insult, bill doubled with latest bill because "some people have really long driveways." When I called, after listening to my issues, woman put me on hold and never came back. Called again 3 times and no one ever answered. Really ROTTEN service, in pickup AND in the office. I plan to complain to any higher ups I can find. Stay away from GFL!!!GFL Environmental

OMG, this is the WORST company that I have EVER dealt with in my life. I just moved to my place back 7/19/22, i paid for the service & for 3 weeks in a row they NEVER took my trash. I called several times, was lied to several times, one of the phone agents told me that she "don't ride with them" as if i thought that. They told me that someone would call me back 3 seperate times, they NEVER DID. I had to dump my own trash, 6 bags by the way, told them to cancel my service & give me a full refund since NOTHING was ever done & to come & get these horrid barrels. They said we will pick them up tomorrow & that was a 8 days ago, I called back 3 more times & the phone broad said its only 8:30 am & they have til 7:00 pm to pick them up in a snappy tone. Well, you guessed it, the barrels are STILL HERE. I have actually never felt true hate for a company but i hate this one. If I have to dump these barrels myself, im going to do a ******** & *** **** live video showing me dropping the barrels at their office cuz they refused to pick them up. By the way, NEVER, EVER, EVER USE GFL FOR YOUR TRASH NEEDS EVER!!!!!GFL Environmental

I paid GFL in full for 3 months on June 22, 2022 for new service in my home. I was told someone would bring bins out to my house the following week. After 2 weeks of no bins and no service they said they had commuinication issues and that if I left my trash out in bags they would have someone come get them. Every day I called, they even promised me a special trip on a Saturday. By JULY 11 I had enough. No service no calls, nothing. It rained for a week striaght while my garbage bags sat on the side of the road and then I had to hall them back into my garage. It was disgusting. I said I wanted a FULL refund. They said it would take 4-6 weeks. Its been 6 weeks and was informed that corporte offie issues refunds. I called them, they see the request but it has never been authorized. Now they are telling me it will take another 6 weeks. I doubt that is even going to happen. This company is joke - no one should use them! I wish there was a negative star.GFL Environmental

Horrible company. Their price hikes are outrageous! One addi onfee last billing cycle now two added on fees without notice. When you try to view what they are for nothing! No explanation at all. Over $35 a month for trash service is ridiculous! Will be shopping around and getting rid of their service.GFL Environmental

It is a good thing for this trash (literally and figuratively) company that reviewers are required to click on at least one star or they would have a negative star rating. Based on the high quality of our previous residential trash collection service, we made the mistake of paying GFL for the year in advance. They skip out on collecting at least once per month (sounds like I'm lucky it's not more). I've called multiple times and the people in the office are a bunch of liars who will claim the truck will be making that run today as they were delayed for this excuse or that excuse.
Since my payment went to an out of state company, I am filing a complaint with the federal trade commission as well as the state attorney general's office. I would recommend everyone that they are stealing from by collecting a fee for services not provided do the same - especially if your payment went to an out of state address!GFL Environmental

We have had service with ***** ********** since 2016. Now in the last two years, dealing with GFL we have had nothing but problems. They don’t pick up the recycling, that we pay three months in advance for. Once in awhile it is picked up by the regular garbage truck. IF I can get through on the phone or if someone responds to my email, I get reimbursed. But the hassle of trying to get a hold of someone and now having to take the recycling to the landfill because we don’t have room in our bin we aren’t getting compensated for. They shouldn’t offer a service they can’t provide. But no one else offers a recycling service. We will now be recycling ourselves and getting a new sanitation service. We don’t GFL anymore of our money.GFL Environmental

I signed up for trash service with gfl environmental on 7/28/2022 with the expectation to receive a trash can in 7 to 10 days. It is now 8/10/2022 and i have yet to receive a trash can but i have received a $44.31 charge to my bill. Why? I’m not sure because I’ve been on hold with this company since 8:15am. That’s ridiculous! To make matters worse they never came to pick up the old trash can from the previous owners. So we pulled it to the curb on the scheduled trash pick up day which is Tuesdays (yesterday 8/9/2022) along with a few bags of trash and they skipped right over our trash got the others. I’m not sure what’s going on but this is a horrible first impression and I’d like a full refund so that i can find a more reliable trash service. This is the last thing that my family and i should be dealing with as new homeowners. GFL does not answer the phone so i guess i will have to go up there to find answers. I think this company is a scam. When I signed up i paid for the first 3 months so I’m trying to figure out why there’s another charge on my bill. I’m canceling this service immediately.GFL Environmental

O Stars. Missed pickups are the norm since January, 2020. Often it takes a week of phone calls to get a pickup.
This is at 4x the monthly price of ****** Disposal who was bought by ***** who was bought by GFL. Consistent increase in missed pickups since January, 2020.
Website won't work on most browsers, phone system seems to have no workers, web ticket system seems useless.GFL Environmental

I had *** and cancelled my service before they were taken over by GFL.I did this because I wanted recycling which wasn't offered by *** It took 3 calls to get them to finally pick up the can but they did pick it up.I am guessing it took so long because they were in the middle of transitioning to GFL which I didn't know at the time.I cancelled in September 2021 so we are getting close to a year now of dealing with this. I switched to Anderson Trash Removal and have been with them ever since.I paid my entire $40 September bill, even though I didn't have service through the end of September AND paid an extra $20 in October because $20 honestly wasn't worth my time dealing with this.I am STILL getting bills in the mail for a $10.95 charge in October plus "late" fees making it $105.98 now.I have been told many times since I started calling GFL in October that it would get sorted out and to not pay it since it would get cancelled.It has been almost a year now and I am still getting bills. I called 10/14, 10/18, 10/25, 11/9, 11/16, 12/23 two times, 2/14, 2/16 and now twice today 8/9.I waited from February to now because I was told it could take a few months for the ticket to get processed in February so I think I have been more than patient.The local branch has put in their notes many, many times and is waiting for accounting/corporate to cancel it out so I hope that is where I am reaching since they don't even have more than a PO box to reach corporate to try to escalate this.I have already paid $40 extra for end of September and beginning of October even though I didn't even have a can to get serviced and I have wasted my time calling over and over to get this cancelled once and for all. My account needs to be cleared and I need to stop receiving bills, this is absolutely ridiculous at this point.If I were charging GFL per hour of my time I have wasted trying to fix their mistake,I would be getting owed a few hundred by now plus late fees.
