This company advertised that they would pay me to buy my phone once they reviewed it. They reviewed it and claimed that the product was not in the same condition as I described so they rejected my offer and sent me a new one. After discussion, I agreed to their amount of money that they were willing to pay me. They did not respond. They still had not returned my emails so I requested that they send my phone back and they did not. I would like the company to return my phone in the same condition so I can sell it elsewhere.Initial Complaint

I mailed my IPhone 14 max pro in for them to buy. They changed the offer and I declined it on November 7th. I have been calling and emailing them since trying to get my iPhone back. On December 9th I finally received an email (to my online request for a call) stating I needed to pay for a return label and they would mail it back. On December 10th, I replied back with a UPS prepaid label. I have gotten no reply back nor has my iPhone been mailed back. I have reached back out numerous times with nothing. The phone for the company just goes to a message and no one ever calls back. I have also gone on the website requesting information through the customer service link… nothing. I would just like my phone back in the same condition I sent it in.Initial Complaint

On or about 10/18/24, I agreed to sell my ****** ** *** to NYCPhoneBuyer for $624 to be paid to me via *****. They sent a pre-paid shipping label. I mailed the phone to them within the agreed upon time. The USPS tracking on the package indicates that it arrived on 10/28/24 (USPS: **********************). On 10/30/24, I received an email from NYCPhoneBuyer confirming that they received my phone and would be inspecting it soon. I waited a month hearing nothing. I emailed them on 11/29 asking to be paid the agreed upon price for my phone. I did not get a response. I called their phone number as listed on their website (###-###-####) and no one answered. They indicated that the phone number can be texted, so I texted them, no response. I sent another email on 12/3/24. As of this date, they have still not responded. I just want to be paid the agreed upon price for the ****** ** *** I sent them. Can the BBB please help me with getting the company to honor their deal for paying me the agreed upon $624 via *****.Initial Complaint

Hello,
This website buys old phones. I submitted my phone to them and was given a quote of 695.99$ to be sent to me Via Venmo. Month passed and I reached out to them, was told they had Venmo balance backed up so they could send a check. I received he check and after depositing it into my bank I was alerted that it bounced. I reached back out to them, the owner Feldon Richards said it was a mistake and he would Venmo or Cashapp me the amount due. This still has not happened and I've not heard back to any of my attempts to reach out. They stole my iPhone 15 Pro Max.Initial Complaint

I sent in 2 iPhones mid September for an offer of $307.98. I was made a lowball offer on 9/23 of $93.98, citing scratches and battery health issues. As my phones had no scratches and were charging to 100% battery, I requested proof. They only sent me proof of the battery health, stating it was not enough that the phones charged to 100%, and adding instructions on how to go into the iPhone settings to see what they are using to determine battery health status. These instructions should have been provided on the website beforehand but were not, so I felt like this was a bait and switch. Not wanting more hassle, I accepted their lowball offer on 9/30. After multiple emails, I was finally told a check for this amount was sent on 10/20. The check was returned by my bank for insufficient funds. After two phone calls and multiple emails, including twice sending proof that the bank returned the check and giving them my Venmo handle to pay me instead, I have still not been paid on 12/16. I have all emails to document this complaint. At this point, I just want to be either send a check that does not bounce for $93.98 immediately or have this amount immediately paid on my Venmo handle.Initial Complaint

I shipped my phone in October 2024 and have yet to receive payment or have my phone returned to me despite numerous outreaches!
Here is a timeline of my interaction with NYC Phone Buyer:
10/6: Company received my phone
10/12: Company presented a "new" offer stating my phone was not in its originally described condition. Offer was for the same amount I was originally quoted so I accepted. I received email confirmation that my payment was being processed.
10/22: Sent email follow up as I hadn't received payment yet and the portal showed a different, lower payout that I did not accept. Customer rep offered to negotiate the payout price and offered $65, but I declined and requested my phone to be returned to me. Representative offered options to return my phone.
10/24: Customer rep stated I did not accept offer within the 5 day period and thus couldn't return my phone to me. I sent screenshots disproving this - I accepted the new offer on the same day.
10/28: Sent email follow up due to lack of response - had to explain the situation and re-send screenshots to a different customer rep.
10/29: Email follow up, no response
11/4, 11/5: Email follow ups with no response
11/8: Another email follow up, CEO replied offering $65 and I accepted to complete the transaction.
11/13: CEO offered payment options, I sent my Venmo info
11/24: Email follow up, no payment yet and no response
12/1: Email follow up, no payment yet and no response
12/3: Text follow up, no payment yet and no response
12/4: Text follow up, no payment yet and no response
12/9: Email follow up, no payment yet and no responseInitial Complaint

On 9/9/24, I initiated a trade-in offer with NYC Phone Buyer LLC. My order number is *******.
On 9/30/24, I sent in my phone, well within the trade-in timeframe. I received an automated e-mail from the company. I was advised that my phone was on the way, and to expect a follow-up e-mail within 2-5 business days, once the phone arrived.
The tracking number for my phone is **********************. USPS shows that it was delivered on 10/2/24.
On 10/3/24, at 9:40 AM, I e-mailed NYC Phone Buyer LLC asking for them to confirm that they had received the phone. That same day, at 11:32 AM, Customer Support Specialist Shannen replied, confirming that my phone had been received.
It took until 10/21/24 to finalize the offer.
At that time, when the $840 was confirmed, I was informed that Zelle could not be used as a method of payment, and that the only fee-free payment method was a check. I responded 45 minutes after receiving that e-mail, confirming to Christine that a check was fine, and provided my address.
Shannen replied to me the same day, 10/21/24, informing me that they could not send checks, and that I would be updated as soon as possible.
Over two weeks later, on Friday, 11/8/24, I once again e-mailed, asking for a status update. I received no reply.
On Monday, 11/12, I wrote another e-mail, demanding an immediate status update. The CEO, Feldon, replied to me, informing me that he could do Cashapp, Venmo, Check, or PayPal. 22 minutes later, I responded to Feldon, asking to be paid via Venmo.
On November 13th, I texted the business. I asked for a status. I was told that Zelle "could not be processed". The options were check, PayPal, and CashApp. I chose CashApp.
Followed up via text on 12/2 - No response. Called 12/5 - no response. At this point, all I want is for the order to be completed. I have spent far too much time following up with this company and getting absolutely nothing in return.Initial Complaint

I sent my **** pro to this business over a month ago for trade in value. I have called them multiple times, only to be told to wait due to high volume. I have been waiting far past the expected time to receive payment for the device trade-in.
My order #******* is incomplete and unprocessed; I am still awaiting payment. I cannot reach them by phone—it goes straight to voicemail—and my emails are unanswered. My device has been held for over a month.
I have read reviews of their company and saw that they lowball offers to others due to the condition of the device. I took pictures of my **** the day before I sent it. I can confirm it's in great conditionCustomer Answer

I have recently sent my **** pro device to this company for a trade in offer. I was to be paid for trading in my device. My initial complaint was that they pay me for my trade-in after waiting for so long. ** I have recently recieved an update from them saying that my device has an activation lock on it and they are unable to open it. I am *NOW* requesting that they send my **** pro device back to me **** The CEO of nyc phone buyer has sent me an email message explaining that there's a lock or activation hold on the device. I am now requesting that they send my device back to me if they are unable to get passed it.
