The main issue I have with this company is the fact that they ignore our calls, putting us on hold without ever responding. We want documented proof that the dumpster weighed 2.55 tons. That seems impossible, and it is impossible to get ahold of them.Initial Complaint

As a single black mother in **************, Mo. who knows nothing about dumpster rentals. Based upon the recommendation of my contractor to use Liberty Dumpster rental for the roofing Debris for my 1092 square foot home on November 12, 2024. I signed invoice #***** for a 20 yard . The agreed price $266.22. They did not return on Saturday but the arrangement was to pick up the dumpster on Monday. The next day they sent me a text stating my dumpster had been weighed and I owed an additional $918.00 Based upon a fictitious weight receipt with NO DATE, AND A RANDOM weight of ****** pounds! there is no home at 1092 square feet that would hold over 2000 pounds of roofing debris ,but they charged me for 5 times that amount!! As I further investigated this company because they would never call me back, I have discovered this is a scam business, ran out of *********, ********** using burner cell phones. The owner of the company **** ****** who runs many scandalous businesses across the country and to this day isn't help accountable for scamming families especially women. How can a company from ********* with a storefront *** address claim to know what was put into a 20 yard dumpster? There were only 19 squares of roofing in that dumpster . The dumpster wasn't half full and they continued to take money out of my bank account that was designated for my mortgage. The landfill, subject to the Department of Weights and Measures, provides the Weight Ticket to the driver and the driver takes a picture for each load. The landfill does not include the original address of the debris. Therefore, these charges are valid and accurate. In addition, the complainant agreed, contractually, to pay 15 per pound, resulting the additional charge. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:I find Liberty Dumpsters response unacceptable and I still believe that they are an unethical company. Their response mentions that the driver takes a picture of each load. I was provided with a weight ticket with no identifying information and I was NOT provided a copy with the picture of my load. IF my load weighed almost ten times more than a normal load of only 12 sheets of roofing, their had to have been more items placed in my dumpster than what my roofer placed in there OR Liberty Dumpster includes the weight of rain and water. And if that is the case, that practice (as horrible as it may be) should be communicated to the consumer. Even though the representative I spoke with told me (after the fact) that they could not control acts of god. It rained heavily on one of the two extra days that they asked me to keep the dumpster in my driveway. My request was that the dumpster be picked up on Saturday. I was told that they were unable to pick the dumpster on Saturday. They said it needed to stay until Monday and that I would not be charged to the 2 additional days. Well that turned out to be wrong. I paid over $700 for storing their dumpster in my driveway for 2 days! I will continue to tell the experience I have with Liberty Dumpster every opportunity I get! Absolutely HORRIBLE!

I ordered a dumpster with Liberty, who then emailed me and said they could not fulfill my original request and if the next day would be ok, I said yes and asked for a morning window due to the shift, they said they would try accommodate that. The day of delivery I finally called at 3:30 in the afternoon and they confirmed I was on the delivery for today 10/25/24 and that they were calling dispatch and I would receive a text letting me know my delivery time, never herd a word, tried to call again at 5:30 (delivery is promised by 6pm) and there was no answer and sent to voicemail after 15min. This company does not deliver on Saturday or Sunday in my market, and I have no promise that they will be here Monday. The kicker is they say I will still be charged $250 for cancellation for something I have no idea when or if it will show up!! I sent them written cancellation and Im excepting a full refund I can live with a little wiggle room but 4 days no, plus I had pick up scheduled for 10/30, which it has to be gone for the next project to happen. I wish I would have read all the HORRIBLE reviews about this very unethical company before ordering, Im just trying to get a deck done!Customer Answer

Ordered a dumpster from Liberty Dumpster on 9/26 using *****. Was told total charges would be $437.40 for the days and size I needed for my home remodel. I was told there would be no additional charges. I ordered the dumpster, filled it according to Liberty's requirements (no appliances, no chemicals, no overloading) and it was picked up on the scheduled day. When the dumpster was delivered it had not been cleaned and oil residue that dripped on my driveway, 4 Days after the dumpster pickup, I was automatically charged $1250 which was "part" of the additional $2570 in extra charges. They billed me .15 a pound for the dumpster contents! No mention of this was made and the verbiage of weigh charge was in the middle of the 'banned items' section that would incur additional charges. Again, I did not have any banned items.This company is a complete scam! From the strong-arm pressure tactics to 'hurry up and agree', to 'let me get the address to ensure deliviery' to ' just need a credit card to get started' to stating the all-in costs would be $437.50 with the special '****** discount'. Who would order a dumpster and then pay for the content weight? *****! There is no way to even tell if the weight measurements are legit. ******** company out of ********* scamming people. The business advertised a small fee dumpster for $195. They then sent me an invoice with more fees than they disclosed. So I ended up paying $250 upfront. I kept calling to ask them when the dumpster would be delivered and they delivered it 2 days later. My contract was until Thursday and they didnt pick it up until 4 days later. I kept calling customer service and they keep telling me they would send me a text message and they never contacted me after that. They charges me an additional $957 without showing me a breakdown of charged. They have stopped answering my calls and they will not return my messages.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:[After reviewing the final invoice, that was indeed NOT emailed to me or sent to me regardless of multiple attempts and leaving voicemails at the business, it was sent only after I submitted a complaint to the BBB, I see they have added an extra $250.00 fee to my invoice due to "Wasted Trip due to Locked Gates at the address on 9/23." This is infact not true, and I have further proof documentating that I called the place several times and they kept refering me to text message saying that they did not have an estimated time of arrival. I have contractors at my house working all day that entire week, therefore the gates could not have been locked. Please see attached photos of exchange between the company and myself. Calls were made as well and they kept telling me that the dispatcher would call me when they were on their way and they never called. They just "showed up" without calling or letting me know when the dumpster would be picked up. The dumpster they first dropped off, did not fit in my driveway, therefore it was reduced to a smaller size. The dispatcher took it back that day immediately on 9/23 and I awaited the smaller size of the dumpster, and that is why they gave me a discount for reduced size, therefore this is false statement. They did tell me that I will not be charged for this. This company was looked up and they in fact are not a valid company that operates out of *****, there is no Secratary of State Business and no *** either. They are operating out of a *** address that has been researched and they cannot tell me where their office location, because the location on their website is innacurate. I would like to take this to Small Business Court to resolve this issue. ]

This company is a total scam! Advertised $175, online its $195, sent a bill for $315 to sign before delivery. I canceled my order due to the price differences, and immediately received calls and texts. Then they called and I told them to cancel because the price was too high, so she lowered the bill to $238, so I agreed. Then I started receiving texts saying I needed to sign the contract or the dumpster wouldnt be delivered on Monday when I needed it. I was at work, very busy, loading a truck and just figured I would check out the contract later and sign it. ******* she called me and told me I needed to sign it so they could get me on the delivery schedule. So I stopped working and signed it. I figured, I just spoke price with her, the contract had that price on it, should be fineso I signed it. What I wasnt aware of, is they slipped in a line in the contract that has you agree to an additional later charge of 12cents per pound. So..a 10 yard dumpster cost $677 to rent from these crooks! They make you think youre at one price, but slip in the small print another fee! From the time I inquired, i was called and texted non stop. Never in any of the conversations did anyone say there was another charge coming. Andthe weight could not have been 3600lbs! With no way to verify, they just charge! This seems to be a theme with this company! Very shady business practices! On 4/30/2024 my husband called Liberty dumpster and inquired about renting a dumpster. My husband is a disabled combat veteran and has cognitive impairment which he made the company aware. He was told the amount for the dumpster from Thursday to Tuesday would be $275 total. He said ok and they needed to speak with me before charging our card so I could have the breakdown of costs ect. They said ok. They dropped off the dumpster and charged our card $348.84. I immediately called them and said they were supposed to speak with me before charging our card. They claimed they had forgotten. I questioned them about the charge and they started telling me it was this fee and that fee. I told them I wanted the recording or transcript from the phone conversation with my husband. They refused and said it was for internal use only. I told them to come pick up the dumpster right then and refund our money. They refused saying it would cost me another $275 for them to pick it up. So they said they'd leave it until Tuesday. They picked it up on Monday and informed us it would be .15 per pound (we didn't even get the chance to use the dumpster) it had water in it. The driver came and we explained that they had already scammed us for the $300+ and he said he was sorry but there was nothing he could do as they are a 3rd party company but did acknowledge that liberty dumpster did indeed scam us. He tried to contact them via phone and email and they would not respond. When I had told them on the phone on Friday they were scammers they LAUGHED at me and said there was nothing I can do about it. Today they won't even answer their phone. They are a scam and need to be shut down. They take advantage of vulnerable people. They won't even attempt to make this right. Their website says upfront pricing, no hidden fees, honest and respectful. All of that is a lie! It's misleading people so they can scam them. It's not right. We rented a dumpster for $410.56 and that included the 2 week dumpster rental and *****# for weight. The contract stated that after *****# limit it would be .12 cents per pound.All good, the dumpster was delivered.My husband got seriously injured at work and he could not walk, let alone pitch things, so we hired a couple of people to help the weekend before the dumpster was to be picked up.They didn't show up....so, I am an elder woman, and I threw away a few things (the dumpster is 4' high.) And the ***** weight didn't even exceed 100#.Fast forward a couple of weeks and they said I had an overweight bill of $84.14. I looked at the invoice and the weight bill from the dumpster site THAT Liberty provided and it said that indeed it was 300# over...However, there is NO way I chucked that amount of trash in the bin. I didn't even cover 5' square feet of the bottom of the bin. Nothing was stacked, we are just talking about the bottom floor of the bin.This is shameful. Either the driver put ***** pounds in the bin or I was provided the wrong receipt.I demand my $84.14 back, and shame on Liberty Dumpster!Also know this, Liberty Dumpster is a brokerage service which charges to just set you up with a dumpster. I was quoted $195 ($240 including taxes and fees) plus $0.15 per pound for debris tonnage. I proceeded with service on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. I received a bill on Monday April 29, 2024 after the dumpster was picked up for a total cost of over $865 with additional hidden fees and stated debris weight of 1.61 tons. At least 50% of my debris was tree branches (mostly thin branches) so I'm not sure how the weight reached that amount. I've rented dumpsters from other companies in the past and never reached that weight before. ****** learned. The company fraudulently charged my father for overweight fees. We rented a 20 yard dumpster that totaled $708 and included 2000lbs in the contract. We put a demolished 1996 aerolite 19rb camper in the dumpster. It weighs 2350 lbs empty. Liberty dumpster claimed the dumpster was 1.98 tons over or nearly 4000 lbs over. All in all the camper and it's contents could not have weighed more than 3000 lbs. They went ahead and charged an excess of 600 dollars and stated weight tickets couldn't be disputed. They are likely adding other debris to the dumpsters or are fudging the numbers. I provided them with pictures, documentation, and the camper title showing the weight and they refused to make good.
