This bank, mobile withdrew out of my account, an obviously fraudulent check for over $13,000 with no account number or signature on the back of the check, only a "*******" scribble on the back of the check. It took them 3 months to tell me that since I didn't notice the withdrawal within 30 days of the occurrence, I am out of luck. the money is gone for good. I said, it takes so long to get a bank statement from them that there was no way I could have noted the fraudulent check in that amount of time. Their answer- you should be checking to see if we make mistakes on your account every day!" To rub salt in the wounds, they said I now need to pay $40 extra a month to protect myself against their negligence!!!

Worst bank ever.
Charge you up the *** for everything and charge you even more to close. Total nightmare. I cant tell you how much of my life has been waiting… in line, on hold etc. Horrible customer service.Horrible everything. DO NOT USE THIS BANKM&T Bank

DO NOT TRUST THIS BANK !!
My PERSONAL and SECURED information was taken by M&T Bank employees (Genesee St, Utica, NY) and used for their personal gain. I have the proof and I’ve contacted M&T Bank twice to file a formal complaint and request an investigation. NO ONE has even attempted to contact me regarding this matter.M&T Bank

M&T Bank was awful. I tried to stay with them after they acquired my former bank based in CT, but MT could not get their act together. Their distribution of bank cards and info before the merger was a haphazard mess. Their telephonic system is a disaster; they apparently did not train their employees on the M&T systems in advance of the conversion so they could not help customers at the branches. When the tellers called the main number at M&T to ask for help, they were placed in the same queue with all retail banking customers and wait times were impossible. Their online bill payment system was awful, sometimes taking weeks to complete bill payments.
When the merger was announced, we had over $700,000 in various accounts with the former Connecticut-based bank. Three months after the merger, our balances at M&T were $0. So glad we left!!!M&T Bank

1 starHorrible! They pay out of our escarole when the county says and that’s not ok. They overpaid almost $1400 and can’t get us a refund for overpayment. How is it our job to talk to the county for taxes that weren’t authorized by us. Such a scam and a waste of time. Can’t wait to get a new bank to service us. We are the customer and every month they waste our time one way or another. Seems like we are not the only ones. They were also paying another houses taxes. Poor idiots can’t read or even pay the correct property taxes. They write down notes that nobody working there reads and we constantly are explaining to a new person how screwed up they areReview fromAnnie T

Very poor customer services, too long holding times, so many questions even after providing all the answers for verification, no option to change my address out of state or online or request a card after reporting one was stolen, wasted so much of time whenever I called... negative ratings and will be closing my account once I am back there......M&T Bank

Worst bank ever. Opened an account with them had my paycheck direct deposited in the account money wasn’t there called and they were making all types of excuses of why they couldn’t release my funds too me no one wanted to give me a legit reason why kept saying I had to fo to the branch went to the branch they said no you need to call. M & T Bank it definitely the worst bank ever. They are completely useless over the phone. They have no fraud procedures in place to protect people from having their money stolen. If you file a claim regarding a charge dispute it takes a minimum of 60 business days for them to 'investigate'. Then they charge you $35 to stop a payment coming out of your account. Their customer service reps are rude and not helpful nor do they give out the correct information. I had Peoples United Bank Account for over 30 years. I will be closing this account now. DO NOT USE THIS BANK it's not worth all the headaches.M&T Bank

Constantly headache. I miss ****** bank. With M&T I feel like I have to do all the work for them. What's the point of using this as a banking method if you guys don't protect my account or help me recover it either. Do not use this bank and do not allow your bank to merge with them. If you hear that there is a merger immediately withdraw your money and go to another account.M&T Bank

I just was told at the M&T Branch in East Windsor NJ that I have to tell a week in advance to withdraw 8500 dollars, how come a bank do not want to
Give your money when you need it? It’s a joke, I could not withdraw the money that I need to purchase a equipment for my bussines.
