I received numerous calls from someone calling themselves “location specialist Jackson” for filing a claim from Debt Direct saying he’s going to be showing up to my home or work. They have called my family and left personal info in the voicemails, which is illegal and extremely unethical & unprofessional. I was being threatened & spoken to rudely & informed me there would be legal action taken against me involving court filings. Incredibly traumatic experience. This is not a way things should be handled in any capacity.

KPS Asset Consulting has been calling family and friends leaving messages that they are looking for me. Here is the voicemail they left on my son's phone, **** *******, "I am location specialist J****** calling today in reference to a pending claim by law, I have to make you aware that wants to claim his file that does become public record your name, and SSN are affiliated with this claim. You need to contact the filing party before I arrive at your home or job with documents that you must sign. You do have the legal right to contact the filing party Call 833-883-2791 you have been notified"

I called this number and spoke to the gentleman in charge of my account, he told me what my "original" debt was from, I told him I was not familiar with this debt or the loan he was referring to. He told me to contact Plain Green directly and I told him I would do that. He told me that since I had no knowledge of the account, they would proceed with judgement/garnishment. I told him I planned to contact the company directly and I asked that they only call me regarding this, not any family members. He told me the laws changed the beginning of this year and I didn't have the right to request that and that he would contact every family member every day until papers were served. I asked for a fax number so I could send something in writing making this request but he told me they didn't have a fax so I asked for an email address, he finally gave me that but told me they don't communicate thru email, only over the phone so they have recorded calls. I have done my research and I see on the FTC website that I still have the right to not be contacted if I prefer.

We have located your account with the information that has been provided to the BBB for your statement. First, I would like to inform you that Debt Direct Portfolio Management does not make any outbound calls or leaves messages, neither with the name of Debt Direct Portfolio Management or as any other name. This means that KPS Asset Consulting is not Debt Direct Portfolio Management and therefore, we are not the business contacting you or leaving voicemails for you. Secondly, we do not have an agency within our network that goes by the name of KPS Asset Consulting, the phone number provided is also not in our system. In addition, you are correct in that you can request to not be contacted further, for this reason, after reviewing your complaint we have closed your account as requested. Please keep in mind that although your account will be "closed" this means that you should not be receiving any calls in regard to the account but the debt itself will still be due. Debt Direct Portfolio Management will still conduct an investigation into your statements as we take consumer feedback very seriously and have strict policies in place to prevent behaviors such as the ones you have outlined. You can contact our office directly at ###-###-#### Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm EST for any updates.

I got a call on 5/8/24 from a Lori w***** from an unknown number. She left me a VM with personal information of where I lived stating someone would come out to identify me and if I didn’t know what was going on to call her. I called the number she left me on the voicemail and asked for my social to verify she then proceeded to say I was getting sued for fraud on a loan for ***** ******. I was so confused and caught off guard started to panic mind you I have heart problems. She gave me several options and I gave her my debit card number and agreed to pay $250 a month. She sent me an email that seemed odd and there was another name on the email which was ****** consulting. Later on I went through my email and saw that my loan was sold to Debt direct management LLC and if I had any questions to contact them. I did then they proceeded to tell me that it was sold to United something and then they transferred me back over to the same lady who left me a VM. The ****** consulting doesn’t even have an address when you google it. I gave my debit card information and now feel like I’m getting scammed. I don’t know what to do.

The company called my birth mother who I have not spoken to in over 6 years, making her think that I had gotten into trouble. Then proceeded to call my ex-stepfather and ex-grandfather to tell him that I used his name in reference to the loan. All of this over an $800 loan. The person who called all of them, Ryan, then proceeded to threaten me with suing and scare tactics. When I tried to negotiate a payment plan he continued to talk over me and told me I should borrow money from family to cover the loan. Incredibly unprofessional and predatory behavior, as I was trying to come to a resolution. I have all the voicemails saved, where he clearly tries to imply to these people who are not even in my life, that I am in trouble or used their name on credit.

Good afternoon, we have located your account with the information provided to the BBB for your statement. Debt Direct Portfolio Management is not a collection agency and therefore no outbound calls are made to consumers who contain accounts in our office. However, as per the desired resolution section, we have closed your account and have launched an investigation to look further into your claims. Please be aware that your account is closed and will not be reopened unless contacted by you with the desire to set up payments. Cease and Desist Demand and Inquiry Regarding Debt Representation

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I trust this communication finds you well.

I write to address a matter of pressing concern regarding the activities of the office of **** *****, particularly in relation to their attempts to contact me regarding a debt matter. On 4/2/2024, I received a call from the number ###-###-####, originating from Utah, purporting to represent the interests of **** *****.

Upon investigation, it has come to my attention that the debt in question was purportedly transferred from ***** ***** ***** to Debt Direct Management. It is my understanding that Debt Direct Management may have engaged **** ***** for collection purposes.

I am deeply troubled by the conduct of the representative from **** *****, who persistently contacted my place of employment despite my explicit instruction to desist from such communication, a request that carries legal weight under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

Furthermore, I have documented evidence in the form of harassing messages, complete with timestamps, as well as correspondence between the representative and my employer subsequent to my directive to cease contact.

I demand immediate cessation of any further communication from **** ***** or any affiliated parties regarding this matter. Failure to comply with this demand will leave me no choice but to seek legal recourse to protect my rights under the FDCPA.

Additionally, I seek clarification on the relationship between Debt Direct Management and **** *****, particularly regarding their representation of my debt. Confirmation of their involvement in this capacity would be greatly appreciated.

Your prompt attention to this matter is imperative. I kindly request a timely response to confirm the status of the representation of my debt and acknowledgment of the cessation of further communication from **** ***** or its agents.

Thank you for your cooperation in resolving
    *****

I received a call from ******* Portfolio Management back on 3/2023 and they informed me that they are now in charge of my loan with ***** ***** *****. It was to collect the debt that I owed. Very aggressive and stated I need to make a payment right away. I wanted to set up a payment plan but I needed to decide what I could afford. I had every intention on paying it back times are hard right now.Currently paying 59.95. They’ve called me several time have called me family multiple times and even my work place. I did talk to plan green loans and they did inform me they did sell my loan to another company. I wanted to confirm that this ******* portfolio is really legit before I start giving even more money that I don’t have.

As they threatened to sue me and stated that someone was coming to my home (had my personal address and information). I informed them I did not receive anything in the mail or email but they kept saying they sent it to my email but I did not and even checked my spam box. As they were being rude and inconsiderate, I started to panic and had to sign a form for them to authorize them to start making payments I owe on the debt. I had to make my first payment for $59.99 and then every 2 weeks they will charge me $259. Something seemed very off and I contacted ***** ***** *****. They informed me that Debt Direct Management is now in charge of collect payment on my debt and to contact Debt Direct Management. I emailed Debt Direct as I wanted to confirm if Debt Direct is associated with ******* Portfolio Management but not have heard a response. I don’t like being threatened and it seems like a scam and want to prevent them for going any further on collecting money from me. I’m already struggling so hard financially and this is the last thing I need to do but I haven't received anything in the mail nor my email. Isn’t that standard practice?

July 19th 2023 this company tried calling me left a voice mail with 0 information about the company. They then contacted several family members and went on to give out my personal details to those said family members including loan information. You had no right and no authorization to give any information out to anyone that was not me. All you are allowed to do is verify and recieve any contact information for me. This is a problem as you can information to someone I am no longer involved with and in hiding from due to court procedures. You have potentially put my life at risk due to your negligence.

I received a loan from ***** ***** ****** and had every intention of paying them back. Due to loss of income, I was not able to right away. Last week my family and friends are now being harassed by portfolio management, and I have been threated for them to "find me at my employment" or that they are going to sue me. These people are extremely rude and continue to harass multiple people who have asked them to quit calling

I was contacted by someone from "** **********". I believe they were trying to use scare tactics to get me to pay something, but eventually said they hoped the best and hung up. They said it was from ****** **** Loans. I called them and they said to contact DebtDirect Portfolio Management. I called them with the number given to me and they said to contact *** Accounts and gave me a phone number. I have called that number twice and no one has answered, it goes to voicemail. I am not able to find anything about ** ********** or *** Accounts. ** ********** threatened that a location specialist would be showing up to serve me paperwork. I am very confused by all of this to be honest and would like some kind of answer.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/20/2023

Good morning, Debt Direct Portfolio Management does not work with or knows anyone by the name of ** **********. You were provided with the number for *** Accounts Recovery by our representative as they were the assigned agency to help you. I am not sure if they were having phone issues at the time of your call or if your call was made while they were closed and maybe that is what caused some of the confusion. If you are receiving calls from this ** **********, it could be in relation to something else, especially since Debt Direct Portfolio Management is not involved in anything that would require a consumer to be served for anything.
