1 starTook car in for oil change and brakes in ********, *******. Manager had a bad attitude from the start. They changed the oil and checked the brakes. Said nothing wrong with brakes problem was with the rack and pinion steering. Car only vibrates when applying brakes. ****** symptoms of bad rack and pinion my car has none of them. It needs Back brakes. I'm 68 yrs old I think I know brakes. Told Mgr I ll pay for oil change and take car to another shop. He really got attitude and wouldn't even talk to me. A real a** hole. 1 starThis place sets a bad example for mechanics who are simply trying to do honest, hard work and make a living. I went to Mavis the beginning of November to get new tires on my car, and decided to get an alignment and an oil change. What I thought would be a simple job turned into an oil leak two weeks later. I brought my car back in, and was told it was an oil pan gasket and that the oil pan needed to be replaced-which I did. This cost for this service was $836.69. The job took several days, and the car was still leaking oil a couple of weeks after. I called Mavis again, and when I took the car in-they told me that now the fix was the timing belt cover. The cost of this ended up being $1473. The next. day, I had my car towed in because it was riding rough-costing me $45. They told me that the timing belt was off by a tooth and needed to be reset. They told me that they'd get it taken care off, but ended up driving it to an undisclosed mechanic's personal property and would not tell me the location of my car. (1481 ********** Rd). I also received a message from the manager, ******* ******** stating that he would refund me what I paid to get my car fixed somewhere else-which he did not do. I tried to contact someone in the corporate offices-and they relayed my message to a regional Manager named *** ****, who when he called me was brash, aggressive and nasty. He went back and forth with me, and offered to pay for the repairs for the oil leak to be done. At this point, I questioned all of the work done on the car-as throughout this. process, the manager informed me that he doesn't work on the cars himself, that he fired the mechanic that originally worked on my car, and that he sent my car to another shop to diagnose it because they couldn't quite figure out where the issue was. I no longer wanted to do business with them, and sent an email detailing all of this.Review fromCrystal J

1 starI brought my 2018 Terrain in because the brakes went completely out. The car was towed there on a Monday afternoon l called and advised they could get to it on Tuesday. Tuesday the called said I need front and back brakes, rotors, the brake system flushed and coolant and was quoted $1,050 and I advised ok go ahead and fix it. Wednesday afternoon they called advised my car was fixed I go to pick it up and now the price is $1375 and I am told I was given the quote without taxes although I am looking at the screen and taxes are $89.95. Then when I advised that $1,050 plus $89.95 does not equal $1375 .Then after I paid they tell me oh the car is not fixed still having the same issue!!! Friday morning I call and ask what the progress is on my car and I am told they didnt do anything with it that Thursday and they are now driving it around to figure out what is wrong with it. I escalate this with corporate who advises the regional manager would reach out to me. the store manager calls me and starts to explain that the person I spoke to wasnt there the day before and didnt know what they were talking about, but also when he came in that morning he asked the same person what was going on with the car and they already ordered the part are you test driving trying to figure it or is the part ordered. I tell him Im upset with the consistent miscommunication he advises me brakes are a complicated system and ask me if I want a refund. I told him my husband will call back with a decision. He then calls me back leaves me a message telling me he is refunding my money come and get my car. The car where the BRAKES are NOT working. So I have to get the car towed once again. What type of company lets you leave with no brake system!!! Long story short took it somewhere else and it wasnt the master cylinder that they were getting ready to replace it was the vacuum pump and it only cost $470. They were going to charger me thousands of dollars to guess at the problem!Review fromAlbert H

1 star02/22/2025 Scamming Customers for Fake Repairs Beware!!! ********************** Repair Shops are not to be trusted. Heres why: I took my 2019 For Escape to the repair shop in **************, *******. The technician called me to the shop to explain the Left shock needed to be repaired. There was visible oil dripping from it. I worked as a mechanic for 30 years and am now enjoying retirement. I was dubious since I took very good care of my vehicles and when I asked more questions, I found the oil was CLEAN. I declined the service and thought this was just an unusual (and unethical) way to do business.A few months later, I had a trusted mechanic put new tires and rotors on my car and gave it to my Granddaughter in ********. With only ****** miles on it and I felt confident she was getting a reliable car. Since the car was from *******, she needed a *** Inspection, so she took the car to Mavis in ***********. The mechanic at Mavis said the left shock was broken and quoted the repair at $600 + Labor. My granddaughter became suspicious of the necessity of the repairs when the mechanic indicated he was aware of the FL Mavis visit. She ultimately declined to pay for the repairs so she could get a second opinion. Mavis charged her for the *** Inspection fee ($21) and noted that the car Failed ***************, my granddaughter took the car to a different national company for a re-inspection in ******** where she explained the earlier Mavis findings. They inspected the car and explained that there was nothing wrong with the left shock. The car PASSED Inspection.Mavis shame on you for targeting older adults and young women to pay for unnecessary repairs. **** *.Review fromDallas L

1 starOrdered four new tires for my pickup truck and had an appointment to arrive at 8am. Was told it would take 2-3 hours for mounting, balancing and an alignment. After three hours I had four mounted tires, but one of my wheels was completely scratched, a valve stem cover was missing its regular cover, and the used tires has cuts in them. They couldnt balance my tires because of size, but they sold the size to me and said they could. They tried to cover all the errors up and said it was a new guy when I discovered the completely messed up wheel. To make it right they gave me lug nuts and said after I find another place to balance the tires I can come back and get my alignment for free. NO CHANCE I will let the touch my truck or any friends vehicle. The worse service and knowledgd!Review fromD’Ontray J

Its rare to find such genuine hospitality and service in the automotive industry, but Mavis Tires has set the bar high.Highly recommend this location to anyone in need of quality service with a personal touch. 1 starI went into Mavis needing 4 tires and a realignment and came out with $3400 worth of work including the tires and alignment. We were there for 5 hours! Also they said I desperately needed 2 struts and that I should go to the **** dealership and purchase the struts and then bring them back for Mavis to put on. I made an appointment with the dealership and they said I did not need struts or any other work. Also the mechanics at Mavis reeked of marijuana. Obviously I ended up with a lot of unnecessary repairs plus they tried to take advantage of me further regarding the unnecessary struts. Its also a big concern, for safety reasons, that the mechanics may have been impaired and chose to work on my vehicle.
