      I have been trying to get my 401K rolled over into a different account since end of November 2023, and they have been dragging out this process. It's been about 11 weeks of back and forth. It's STILL not resolved, and they keep making me fax paperwork to my former employer. They even took $3000 out of my retirement account during this process. I would definitely NOT putting your money into any of their accounts.

      I work at a dental office and this company is barely more than a scam. Absurd delays, deliberately keep their phone staff ignorant of even the basics, they don't update their network information (even YEARS after changes, still incorrect) and they don't respond to appeals. They will lie about turnaround times, extending it every time you call. I really hope their premiums are virtually free because you will not get anything back for your money. RUN AWAY.

      My mother had hard time to withdraw her money. Below is her feelings on working with equitable: "Every time we submitted all the paperwork, they came back and said I missing they needed Corporate Resolution letter which I couldnt fine anywhere on their website. When I asked Equitable to email me that form, I was told they DIDNT had it and I had to find it. When Icomplained to Ms. ****** for the hundredth time, she threatened me that if I didnt listen to her she would not release my money. This went on for over two months other forms.They really tried to exhaust your patience hoping you would give up."

      Stay away! They didnt take my payment for 6 months and then cancelled my policy due to non payment- I call them daily to try and pay and they dont pick up then they call back at 5pm on Friday and when you dont pick up they blame you for not paying, terrible customer service I ask you to stay away if you have any real health issues you are dealing with as they WILL NOT HELP YOU!

      They are horrible people I have tried to close my account for a month now and I faxed my documents 6 times they keep your money and then charge you a s*** load of money to close it I will never do business there again

      Abominable support, uncaring and incompetent offshore customer care agents, total disrespect of a clients - this is what I have encountered doing business with Equitable! They have not implemented a common notification system to let clients know when paperwork is received, or there is an issue to be addressed, etc. Unfortunately, I am stuck with their product for the time being, but felt compelled to share my experience.

      Lack of customer service is deplorable. Agents require you to use 800 number rather than offer assistance as agents of your account. When closing the account, they stated the process would be complete in 3-5 business days. Then they stated they needed an additional 3-5 business because of their agreement with an outside company. This should have been stated at the onset of the transaction so that I would not be expecting the funds on the fifth business day. Agents blame customer service, customer service apologizes but does nothing. So glad I did not add to the the investment with this company! Will never use their services and suggest others avoid this company as well. There are better options availabe!

      If you want to lose lots of money step right up, save some time and just dump your money into the fireplace. Lost thousands quarter by quarter, ask them questions about investments, took two days to get an answer. In the meantime I still contributed to my company's 401k and up every quarter, Finally got smart and moved to a place where they actually know what they are doing and make money for you.

      Worst company!!! My father had a insurance policy that he had been paying for 18 years and he got some mail that looked like a scam letter indicating his policy was set to expire in 3 months. When I called in, they said I could either extend or cash out for about $700. It took about 3 months to finally get the new premium - it went up from $40/month to $500/month! That is not necessarily my complaint though, it took me 3 months to finally get hold of someone to get me that new premium and now the cash out value is $0. I feel that they purposefully slowed this process down and made it difficult so that my cash out value would $0.Other notes:1. I tried to escalate to a manager several times and no one calls me back. 2. It takes about 30 minutes to get a hold of anyone on the phone, then another 30 minutes to get routed to the correct department. There is no number or method to call the correct department, in my case the PAID CHANGE department. 3. On several occasions, I was speaking to someone and then they just disconnect and they don't call you back.4. Why not sent the termination letter sooner - like 1 -3 years? Because they want it to expire and not let you cash out.5. They sent you encrypted email (good) but then it expires after 3 days! You can go back and ******* later. Ie. they are destroying proof of communication!

      Terrible customer service. It has taken me over 6 months and counting to get mail from my mother's account sent to my mailing address as she is not able to manage it and I have ***** of ******** with all necessary documentation and need all her financial things sent to me. I have yet to have a satisfying customer service interaction on the phone over multiple calls spread over multiple months. Will be looking into removing money from that account and putting it somewhere where folks are helpful.
