20 minutes for a session with a shrink. Biggest waste of time and money. They charge you for no show appointments even though you have proof that you met with the over priced shrink. Do not use these people. They are thieves!!Talkiatry

An atrocious SCAM. They were delighted to inform me before I scheduled my appointment that my insurance was accepted, after I had entered the information, only to send me a $400 bill for a single visit a week later.Talkiatry

I would do zero stars if I could. Please take this as a warning against this company. I wish I would have read reviews before choosing them for my mental health professional provider. I wanted to start working with someone because my mental health has took a turn for the worst. After working with the doctor I told her I need to take a leave from my job due to panic attacks. She told me she would need to work with me longer. Never did she say I don't have the credentials to write you a medical leave. They continued to bill my insurance and take copays knowing they would not be able to help me. I am in a dire mental health situation and now she is saying she must give me a referral and now I have to basically start over with another doctor because for some reason she can not write a medical leave. Now I am wondering if I was talking to a real doctor!!! Why did she not say that weeks ago. She knows the situation I am in. The only thing I got was increased meds.Talkiatry

My medication was out for the month. My last pill was tkarn on a Saturday and my psychiatrist forgot to refill the script. I figured I could wait until monde ay and just skip a day until my doctor returns Monday... I did not receive a response, nor did my pharmacy. I called talkiatry and spoke tk a patient advocate who stated "He will be out until Thursday so you'll have to wait until then." Mind you, I was calm and explained that the medication I was taking cannot me stopped abruptly as it can cause serious side effects, including seizures. I then requested another clinician fill it. She indicated that no one else could help me and that I will have to wait. She refuaed to allow me to speak to a supervisor. I told her that this is clinically unethical and that they will be reported.Absolutely horrible!Talkiatry

These people are horrible they spoke with my daughter for an evaluation. They then said they couldn't help her because she has a medical card. Now they are trying to bill her $375 for doing nothing. She has two ins a commercial policy under father than ******** from me, So they either need to bill them or eat the bill. As in the state if ** you can not seek from a ******** patient. They have also been treating her into paying this bill. Say she will be sorry if she doesn't pay it will be a negative for her. They no longer put medical bills on your credit report. They either need to do this then correct way or they are going to loose out. I sent them an email regarding this they didn't respond to my email they just text my daughter saying she has to pay the Bill.******Talkiatry

1 starStay away from this company at all costs due to its abusive and potentially illegal business practices. The medical professionals do their best to provide for their patients but the business and administrative services totally negate any positive that might be derived. When you have co-pays, their information technology systems are totally incapable of handling payments properly. If you attempt to send electronic payments, which are being forced on us these days, this company routinely messes them up. They claim they do not receive the payments although bank records clearly show that payments were made and accepted by them. At this point they demand that you pay them again or else they will turn you over to their collections agency. You can repeatedly provide proof certain of payment and they send you the same canned reply over and over again signed by a different name each time. If you call their central "customer service" line you get bounced all over and when you finally reach someone, it is clear that English is their fourth or fifth language because you will not be able to understand them at all. This is a poor implementation of a good idea and this company is a classic example of how not to run a company and demonstrates all the wrong ways to do customer service. Their business and financial practices should be investigated as potentially being over the line of legality.Review fromJulian P

1 starI made an appointment with Talkiatry and then asked their customer service how much they were going to charge me for it. For 3 days we emailed back and forth and all they did was try to explain to me what a copay and deductible is. Even after very directly asking what my out of pocket costs would be, they responded with "In this case, the * on the Copay information stands for $0. Also note that you are only being charge for the Coinsurance 20% once the deductible has been met." I called before my appointment, still didn't get a straight answer, and cancelled it. Now they're sending me emails with a bill for $100, for cancelling within 48 hours of the appointment, and saying the billing department cannot assist with "No Show/Cancellation disputes" and that the correct department has a 4-6 week turnaround time.Review fromAlisa G

I wish I would have looked this up first. Was not given an estimate as they promised. I was in need of psychiatric services due to postpartum depression which was really bad and required my disability being extended. I thought this was a shining light of hope since I couldnt leave the house. When I got the bill or EOB from insurance, I didnt look it over (really I was unable to due to condition). I paid it and next couple of bills before I realized the deceptive business practices. In order to charge more, they bill you for two services. They claim another doctor looks over records. I have never met such doctor and never consented to such kind of double review. When I called them they said several reasonings, none of which made sense. The only one that did is that its because the insurance will only pay up fo for X for service, so they have to put two service codes to fully get the $ of the visit.Sirs/maams I have never heard of such a think and for a practice to just say outright yeah we charge you twice to her more out of you. They also arent consistent with coding and is how I caught this. Id every visit is basically the same why are you charging me differently?On top of this I have a high deductible Plan so I have had to pay over $200 per visit. Its a shame because my provider is really wonderful. This company is one reason insurance is so expensive- fraud and deceit.Talkiatry

TALKIATRY is CRIMINAL.Talkiatry is EXACTLY the kind of operation we must STOP. It is a SCAM and yes this is a thing evidently. After going thru a convoluted online intro and historical process, an appointment is made. THEN you will receive a phone call from a representative asking if they can RESCHEDULE your appointment. In my case they wanted to make the appointment for the very next day. He ALSO said that they were not able to verify my insurance and that it would take a couple days to do so. I tell the guy, NO, I do not want to change the appointment. As a matter of fact I want to CANCEL it until you guys get the insurance worked out! He went on and on asking for my personal information. He acted like he didn't know anything -- who he was talking to and for what reason. The next day I received text reminders for the appointment he obviously HAD NOT CANCELLED. HERES WHAT GOES DOWN: You will spend ***** minutes on a televisit with yes, what appears to be an actual doctor. In my case, *************************** was certainly professional enough, spot on in her diagnosis, and her recommendations were just fine. But, HERES THE PROBLEMyou see, I dont need those things. I'm keenly aware of my DIAGNOSIS. What I made the appointment for, as they advertise they do, was medication management. At the end of the session, ******* tells me she cant work with me. But not to worry, shes provided some great podcasts and an email with links to my local CareNow and psychologytoday.com. Even got a link for MapQuest. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The email follow up I received [and the one you will receive as well] reads like this: Thank you for taking the time to complete your Talkiatry assessment. Unfortunately, we dont currently have any psychiatrists who can meet your needs.TALKIATRY is CRIMINAL.BTW, the *** of TALKIATRY is....WAIT FOR IT....formerly the ** of an INVESTMENT COMPANY.
