My car insurance rates have skyrocketed $300+/month. I started shopping for a new policy and Progressive told me that my records from LN (LexisNexis) indicate that I am at fault in an accident dated 02/12/2022. I was reared ended that day but I was not at fault. An AllState policy holder (the other driver) paid the damages to my car. I called LN and they are telling me that they have me as financially responsible in this incident. We had a conference call with ALLstate agent and they confirmed that I WAS NOT AT FAULT in that accident. However they are refusing to correct the wrong information. They say they got the information from DMV. DMV was not notified by me or anyone else, and they confirmed that I WAS NOT AT FAULT. I dont understand why they refuse to correct this. I CANNOT PURCHASE insurance before of sky high rate due to incorrect information they are providing to the insurance companies.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I have received an email from LexisNexis and they claim that they cannot verify my identity.

I sent on their web site MULTIPLE times my driver license picture and my social security card.

They are not correcting this mistake. I am reported as the liable party about accident that happened in Feb 2022 where I was rear ended by another driver.

I sent the ****************** letter that states that *************************** is the responsible party. I uploaded that document as well as my driver license picture.

This business is refusing to clear my name and I get rejected by auto insurance companies to purchase insurance.

      THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED..

My original Lexisnexis Case Number is #******** and Consumer #******** On 9/8/2022 Lexisnexis sent me a copy of their agreement to Reseller Dispute letting me know that my account was frozen and that they have deleted anything on my file and will not be obtaining my public records ever again. However Lexisnexis did not keep that agreement and illegally obtained my public records without my authorization and illegally sold my chapter 13 bankruptcy and all the adversed accounts included in my chapter 13 to the credit bureaus. This time they changed my Consumer Number to ******** and Case number ******** this is proof that they accessed my public records without my authorization in 2023/24. I have consistently asked for them to delete all items that were included in the chapter 13 from my credit report. They are saying that they aren't responsible but I have proof stating that the credit bureaus get my public records from Lexisnexis. Which therefore holds Lexisnexis responsible for illegally selling my public records and for deletion of all adversed accounts that were listed in the chapter 13 bankruptcy from all 3 of my credit reports. All by the *** Must be Deleted from my credit reports Bankruptcy 13 ********************** #**** Military Star #********************* #**** First Progress #**** *********** #**** ************ I've attached the updated evidence that clearly specify how the credit bureaus obtain my public records. Please read carefully. Lexisnexis should be held accountable and I would like this to be made public. I recently signed a 4-year contract with LexisNexis. I have a One-Attorney (Solo) law firm in *******************. I am licensed in ******* but I currently live in ********. I have a business address and business phone number in **. However, the address and phone number are shared with other offices in the building. I work from home in ********. I have a virtual law firm. Virtual law firms are increasingly popular since the pandemic. I did NOT contact LexisNexis because I did not have a need for their services. I am a full-time engineer who plans to practice transactional law part-time. Transactional law rarely involves any research. However, a LexisNexis contacted me via email to offer a demo and their services to me at a discounted price the first year. I explained to them that I had a VIRTUAL law firm, that I did not have any client, and that I preferred Westlaw over LexisNexis. However, I told them that the Public Records feature could be useful to me, and I was signing with them for access to Public Records. However, the credentialing process requires that I have a Physical Address, with a Leasing Agreement, and a Phone Bill. I have been duped by LexisNexis and can't cancel the contract over Public Records access even though I can't meet Credentialing requirements. I explained my situation to them and they did NOT say that Credentialing required that I have a physical location with a dedicated phone line and Locking Door mechanism. They LIED to me! They made it seem that Credentialing was going to be an easy process. Now I am locked in 4 year contract with LexisNexis based on their misrepresentation of the Credentialing process to me. That is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!

This is a copy of the letter I sent to Lexis Nexis. This is more of an outright complaint against the risk department. I have an incident that is on my record. The accident happened on Dec 19, 2022. It was a one car accident that was caused by black ice, and no one else was involved. My insurance provider said that it wouldn't affect my insurance, and that it would not be on my record. I have since had to go to a different insurance provider, only to find out that it is on my record. Your department requested from that insurance company documentation of a more detailed, written document, only to find that they don't have to do that. Why in earth would they tell me that they would send a request for a written request only to later tell me that the insurance doesn't have to provide this? I was then told to get a letter from my insurance company, stating the cause of the accident. I was able to get a letter but they don't have documentation as to the cause of the accident. However, today I found out that they still won't remove the claim because they show the report was filed correctly. Why in earth would they waste the insurance company's time and my time? And then waste company time. Your business is so digesting. Im also going to be sending a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.

And to reiterate, a separate letter is sent to the consumer with the specific details of the resolution via mail.
