I was told by another company that I needed to contact LexiNexis to have my business verified. I was unsure of why this needed to be done because Ive been in business for 7 years. I called to get my business verified, after feeling uneasy because I NEED this to not be an issue again. Its stopping me from doing business(for the first time ever in 7 years). When I called they required me to give them ALL of my personal information(ss#, birthday, addresss, dl #) saying they had to verify my personal information inorder to verify my business(which to me doesnt make sense). Once they verified my personal they asked for all of my business info(ein, address, business name, my relationship to the business). I gave them the info needed and she says they cant verify my business because the *** and my title isnt matching something. I asked can she tell me what info she has, so I can check and verify it and she wouldnt give me any information. I started to feel like this was a scam because how can I be required to give you ALL of my personal information but you cant even tell me what misinformation you have on MY file. I asked to speak to a manger or someone in a higher position, she wouldnt transfer me or give me a way to contact anybody to get my questions answered. With so much scamming going on, and LexiNexis not being a company Ive EVER heard of before, this is bothering me because ALL of my personal and business information has been given to this person. They also requested I send in tax documents and IRS forms saying this was the only way to get verified. I just dont understand this, and why its even an issue when I literally have NEVER had an issue with anyone finding my business in the past. Something just doesnt seem right and Im not comfortable. I need my business verified, or atleast to know what information they have so I can correct it so it doesnt happen again.Business Response

I am both confused and furious by what the credit reporting agencies are showing on my credit report. I recently wanted to check on my information to make sure there wasn't anything inaccurate and see that a bankruptcy from 2017 is reporting. I immediately contacted my attorney who told me originally bankruptcy and any account associated with it cannot be shown on my credit report and to contact the court. I then went down to the ** District Court in ******, ** and asked for documentation that they send to the credit bureaus without my consent. The young lady was very professional and told me they get these questions 100s of times a month but they do not supply information to any credit bureaus because it's a violation of the privacy act and that's all she could tell me. I am ready to have my attorney file suit because this is ridiculous. I have not given Lexis Nexis, it's affiliates, or any other business permission to report ANY private information and demand it be removed in the next 30 days. I don't understand how any company has the audacity to violate a law abiding citizen's rights. If this can't be resolved timely I will move forward with filing suit in my local federal court.Business Response

I agreed to a one-year subscription at $108.88 per month. The corporation snuck a four-year clause into the adhesion contract. A term of four years was not disclosed or discussed during the negotiations. Now it is also trying to raise the monthly fee, in violation of the contract terms. Any clause that allows increases was also not disclosed during the negotiations.Business Response

My auto insurance carrier raised my rates by 50%. I shopped around and found insurance with a well known carrier for 70% less. However, I was turned down at the last minute because they received a report from LexisNexis which showed I had 7 claims over the past 7 years, which exceeded their threshold of 6. I requested a copy of this report and found that 6 of the claims were glass claims, including 2 chip repairs at $60, two windshield replacements, and two $0 claims that I never made and, obviously, were never paid out. There was one other claim that was several years old but still showed up. I requested that the old claim and the two erroneous claims be removed. They said they could file a **************. I received a report back a few weeks later that said all three claims could not be verified. I called to confirm that these claims had been removed from my claims history, and was told they were not. If I wanted LexisNexus to remove them they would have to process another dispute. I received a letter saying that once again these claims were unverified. I called once again and was told that the three claims were still in my record. I asked why since they could not be verified. I was told that I could do another dispute! After much back and forth, I found out that another letter was on its way to me explaining that the three claims were remaining on my report because my current Insurance provider told LexisNexus that they were legitimate. I asked how they could verify something that happened prior to me having any relationship with me and two claims that never happened, and I was told that LexisNexus does not verify the accuracy of the information, they just incorporate whatever the insurance company tells them without confirming it is accurate. So my insurance company can report erroneous claims, and LexisNexus will include them in my report, making me unisurable by anyone else. This is not fair nor legitimate.Business Response

11/14/2022 I sent a request to the court bankruptcy to supply me information stating whether they submit my bankruptcy information to the credit bureaus. They sent me a letter back stating they never sent anything to any credit bureaus so I asked LEXIS-NEXIS to remove the information that they supply to the credit bureau without my permission they never did so thats the reason why am asking to Better Business Bureau to stand in the gap and make them do the correct action.Business Response
