I joined Weight Watchers in March 2025. Was told I was approved for **** compound. Out of now where was told its no longer available. I was still charged $189 on March 23 even though the medication was no longer available after March 22. Its it clear writing. They have not given me a refund and refuse to cancel my account. I cannot talk to a live person and they only respond via messenger days later. I would like a refund of $189 that I was charged.Business Response

On May 27, 2025, I filled out an intake form to see about Weight Watchers $49 a month **** program with a 3 month commitment, $99/mo for remaining 2 months after the initial starting month. After giving my information and being told I would need a consultation first and at that time I would discuss a specialized program designed for me, a credit card was requested. At no time was it disclosed that I would be charged until I agreed on what I was receiving. I was immediately notified of a pending charge on my credit card. This made me very uncomfortable. I tried to cancel by notifying someone but that is impossible so I did not book a consultation and continued to monitor the pending charge. WW did process the charge without the required consultation. It makes no sense to pay for a specialized program without speaking to your consultant and agreeing on the program. This practice is predatory and misleading. Weight Watchers is refusing to refund my $49 and cancel the remaining 2 months of their contract even though I tried to cancel the pending charge within minutes of its processing.Business Response

I went into the clinic part of weight watchers to see if I qualify for ***** I followed the steps and they determined I qualified and it would cost $74 a month to do this. After I signed up and jumped through all the hoops they pulled a bait and switch and then wanted an extra $500 for the injections. This was not made clear in the beginning or I would not have proceeded. I requested to cancel but the said it wouldnt be effective unto may 29, 2026.Business Response

There are several subscription durations available, with longer plans offering the best value. Before activating a membership, a short summary outlining the payment plan and cancellation policy is displayed (multi-month plans may only be canceled for the end of the plan). Below this summary, there is a mandatory checkbox confirming agreement with these terms. The membership activation is contingent upon this box being checked. Our WW Clinic memberships have more to offer than just GLP-1 prescriptions. So not getting these prescriptions is not a valid reason for us to terminate a commitment plan early.

The weight watchers clinic has been unwilling to cancel memberships that they can not fulfill. I signed up for their $49 initial month. Took them a month to correctly submit to my insurance. The $189/month meds were advertised and now they can not compound them anymore. They want me to pay until October for no service or meds. They had to have know the discontinuation was coming yet still advertised to consumers. The *************************************************************** I had to go through the clinic, who takes days to respond. I left a negative review on social media and they blocked me instead of helping me.Business Response

marketing was misleading and said i could get prescribed GLP-1 meds through weightwatchers clinic. I signed up thinking it was a trial based off of marketing where you get approved and then are in program. its been 5 days and i cannot even get in touch with a phsyician let alone get meds. I have tried to get in touch with someone to help but no one will respond. there is no wy to get in touch to cancel this subscription or with a physician. I am super upset. i have used ww off and on for years and never experienced such bad customer service.Business Response

I signed up for a one year subscription to WW Clinic in December 2024 for the ***********. I had no problems with getting the prescriptions sent to me and the clinic team has been very responsive. On May 8 I got a message in the clinic app that they can no longer provide *********** so my membership will be automatically cancelled on May 22. However on May 22 they charged my credit card $85 and the billing section shows they have another $85 charge scheduled for June 22. I messaged the Clinic & that person told me to cancel online but when I cancelled online the only option is to continue paying until Dec 2025 and then it will be cancelled. She keeps asking me to send screenshots and I think she is really trying to help me but she hasn't been able to confirm anything. I disputed the charge with my credit card ************** gave me a credit right away. I will continue to dispute any charges for the rest of the year.Customer Answer

I signed up for what I thought was a simple weight watchers program. There was very little info given before having you sign up, put your card info in their system, and apparently committing to a year long program that you cannot quit. I never even got to speak to a ** with their program because she canceled my first scheduled appt and then my next options given to me for another appt were a month out. So after two months I still wasnt able to speak with a **, but Im stuck paying this membership fee of $99 every month. I also found out from my ** that I am not able to take any weight loss medications due to thyroid and some other health issues, yet weight watchers refused to cancel my membership. So they are saying Im stuck paying $99 for the next year for absolutely nothing. I have zero need for their clinical membership anymore but they refuse to allow me to cancel. I find it hard to believe that due to health reasons, the are refusing to cancel my membership.Business Response

I appreciate them cancelling my subscription as asked but I never received any services from this company as described in our original agreement. I tried to make an appt with a care provider as that was required to obtain any medications or to move forward with the program. The only available dates when I originally requested an appt was a month out. A day before my scheduled appt the care provider canceled our appt and the next available date was another 4 weeks out. Do I went two months with ZERO services but was required to pay those months. I do not believe this is ethical business practices to not be able to provide a service or product thats promised. I would like a refund for those two months.

The initial fee at signup covers the first month of service. Also, please remember that before a consultation can be scheduled, members are required to upload their medical history and complete a syncronous or asyncronous consultation. This allows our clinicians to review the information and request any necessary additional details to ensure patient safety, especially if medication is being considered. The scheduled consultation was not attended by the member, and our terms and conditions outline the termination and refund policy. The decsions regarding a refund are final.

My initial appt was cancelled by the clinician. The only request for medical history was the questions I answered before I could schedule my appt. There was no other info requested. When the first appt was canceled by the clinician, I tried to schedule another appt but the next available was another 4 weeks out. The puts me at two months with zero services or option to obtain medication which is why I signed up.

I recently signed up for a WW Clinical membership because they were offering compounded *****s at a much lower price than name-brand meds. I also have a history with the company, so trusted them. The rate was $49 the first month, then $74/month after that (compared to a $10 monthly regular membership). At my nurse practitioner visit (literally 5 minutes) I was informed they no longer offered compounded meds. They would give other suggestions. Those suggestions are cost-prohibitive, so I asked to cancel or just replace the Clinical membership with a regular one. I was told they would not allow me to cancel. Without access to affordable *****s, I have no interest in this but they won't allow cancelation. I don't want to pay $900 (+/- with fees) for access to products no longer offered and services to support those products.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:[Your Answer Here]
My membership selection was based on WW offering the compounded ***** medication they'd been advertising on a regular basis. That medication option was removed, but I wasn't told until my consulation with a nurse. The only other options are quite expensive, so I'm opting not to use them. They offer nutrionists, but bill my insurance for that. So, while I'm willing to pay for the 5 minute nurse consultation, I don't think I should have to pay for 11 more months to receive meds no longer offered. This feels a lot like a bait and switch move, as things stand.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:They are not acting in good faith. The other services were to be in conjunction with prescribed compounded *****s. And the nutritionist services would be billed to my insurance, so that's not covered in the membership cost. With no access to the advertised more affordable meds, the only other services are an occasional 10 minute chat with a nurse on her couch and exercise videos.
I know WW is having financial difficulties. I've been a member off and on since 2020. I only agreed to this membership based on availability of a more affordable medical option. So regardless of the "you checked a box" argument, they could offer decent customer service and do the right thing to keep a customer.

I entered into a membership to receive *** 1 medication and was denied but they will not refund my membership fees. The ads tout that **** s are available and pictures you get show people injecting said medication. The advertising is very deceptive and predatory. If needed I can send photos of the ads. Once I realized it was false advertising after doing what they asked in the process I asked for a refund and was denied. I joined WW in February for a 3 month enrollment. I set it up for auto payment...I paid $269 on 2/26, $174 on 3/26 and $259 on 4/26. That was my 3 months. The first 2 months were fine but when I received notification of my April payment I went to my account to order my last dose of the *********** and I was unable to. I contacted my care team on 5/7 and advised them of this. I told them that I could not request my last does. I was advised that they were going to contact support. I contacted them several times and was told they were still waiting, they were unable to fix the problem. For some reason my account had been deactivated. They finally sent a link and said I was going to have to use that. I thought I was just reactivating my account so I could get the last dose that I paid for but for some reason it signed me up for another 3 months. I had told my care team that I did not want to sign up for more time with weight watchers. This was a problem by Weight Watchers since they deactivated my original account. I even called and spoke to a customer service **** ******, who in turn spoke to a supervisor and she also told me that they did not know how to fix the problem of my account being deactivated. Case number ********. Next thing I know on 5/26 I am charged $184 and I don't even know for what. I have attached print outs of some of my care team messages. Please note that refill charges are applied after the prescription is written and are included on the membership's regular monthly bill date. The $85.00 charge on the account was for the final refill that was processed on May 25 and is separate from any membership fees.
If you decide to cancel your membership on July 11, you will not incur any other membership charges.Sincerely,
