I contacted Central Hudson ************* in regard to paying final bill due to relocating to ************** & renting my house to my son *********************** , the situation was I was turning the service over to my son & from his Deposited I would close this account being paid in full $1800 Dollars was the quoted price, which ************************* had also been quoted this amount at another *********** ************************* had called on a different day to make payment when customer service had related of a inflated price of $3378.44.was owe at this time I previous sent bill to social service Due to **** ship from having Medical & financial Difficulties from lost wages but they claim this amount was due at this time I refused to make payment due to fraud & mishandling of my account they expressed this account was placed into some kind of budget account. Which I expressed i had never Authorized at any given time so now Central Hudson is placing into collection due to the lack of Payment I wrote letter to the Attorney General in ****** ** in regard to this situation but failed to resound & after calling them (today) in regard to this account that would be placed in collection they advised me to contact u in relation to this situation please contact me at this number ************ to go over what possibilities there are to resolving this matter without credit sore being subject being past employers & failing health be subjectedInitial Complaint

After last years ordeal with extremely high electric bills, I have received another bill for 4x the normal rate I have been charged over the last handful of years. When I contacted Central Hudson, they said the meter was correct (it was an estimate) and that there was nothing to be done about it.I would like the bill adjusted and any associated late fees removed from my account.Customer Answer

I entered a budget billing agreement several years ago (****) when I had 3 additional adults living in the house on both floors. It averaged at approx ****** per month on budget billing. Since it has been only 2 adults and then for the past year only on adult and living on only one floor, the bill has remained the same. There has been no adjustment to my bill over the last several years despite there being an obivous reduction in the amount of electricity used in the home. I have tried to call them on several occasions but have not been able to get through to an actual customer service agent. Each time I sent a payment I addded a note that I wanted my meter read before I continue to pay the inflated bills. I have paid them ***** since Feb 2022 and I currently owe them *****. That's over $7,000 for electricity for one person in a single story **** sq foot ranch house. Now they are threatening to turn off my electricity because i have essentially stopped paying them.Customer Answer

I continue to receive bills that are not making any sense. The prior bill was around $230 and now It doubled on my next bill? There is huge discrepancies in bills recieved. Estimated bills are bloated as well.Customer Answer

Since 2021 Central Hudson has inflated my electric bill. I have called and sent billing errors on numerous occasions but to no avail. I have been sent bills totally over $1,500 when my bill use to only be $250 the most. I'm December 2021. I installed solar panels and still central hudson charged me over $1,000. I called and they stated that something is wrong with my account and that it needs to be looked and a supervisor will call me back. Till this day I have not received a call back. I have called numerous times since than and still the same response. I have no issue paying my electric bill but not inflated billing.Initial Complaint

We moved into this condo complex in January of 2023 , Our first bills from Central Hudson were $ ***** a month , okay ! The second bill was $125 , then the next bill was $60 now since then the bills have been $ 270 then $ 60 and then $ 425 and then $ 66 and now back up to $ 278 .I have called them and complained and asked them to investigate why there is such a radical difference from month to month with or without air conditioning , I was told they would check it out.However we were never contacted after the initial phone call and the bills began to fluctuate more radically than ever. We do NOT get Actual meter readings and we do NOT get any over payment credits , We never heard from them again ? We use 1 tv and 1 pc and my bill is $ ****** ?????I demand an investigation into this unusual billing practice and wildly fluctuating monthly billsCustomer Answer

This is regarding Central Hudson Electric issues I have been having regarding a final bill. my final bill as an estimated ****, no idea how they can estimate a final bill. I called offices numerous times, no one seems to figure this problem and correct it . I have emailed *************** looking for help however the person he was having correct the issue only ended up making it worse. Here is the scenario;My billing period 8/23 showed a credit of $2.52 next billing showed 315 khw used which was externally high and a bill of $93.23 with credits reduced to $81.39 which I disputed and **************** had someone look into to correct the billing. That person called and said I was correct it should have been a final reading but they did not have access to the meter and reduced my bill to 224 khw or $66.70 which all seemed fine to me. They removed the incorrect bill and added on the corrected bill however the corrected bill is still showing a previously due balance of $81.39 from the bill they removed and they added $66.70 new electric usage and then credited me back for the new usage instead of zeroing out the account and removing the $81.39 which would have showed to account having a zero previous bill amount which was the deleted bill and the charge for that electric was never deleted so I have the same balance due as I had disputed. For some reason no one has been able to figure out what to do, *************** has stopped responding to my emails although I know they were opened because I have the email tagged and know when they are opened. This company should not be allowed to operate this way and there is a gigantic history of problems with their billing but think about it if they rip off of their ******* electric customers for only $30 each that puts an additional $4,635,000 into their accounts for services never provided in the year. My *** due this company should be $64.18 and not $81.39 so we are only talking about $18 difference but it needs to be corrected. **************Initial Complaint

Central Hudson has been billing monthly for probably over two years now. My most recent bill is from a period of August 17 to October 19. Why am I being billed for two months? Either they bill monthly or they bill by monthly but we cannot have continuing lapses of billing and then being charged double in a month people cant afford that.Customer Answer

April and May of 2023 ************************************************************************ and Electric I am on a monthly budget billing of $98.00 per month. In April and May of 2023, they billed $1,199 each month instead of $98.00. They corrected the issue with the budget bill so I was billed correctly starting in June of 2023. They have not credited my account for the inaccurate charge and are still showing that I owe them $2,034. I also have not received a bill since 8/9, but have kept paying my monthly amount of $98.00. I have called them several times a month since May with no resolution. They have told me repeatedly that they are escalating the ticket, but today, 10/23/23 I was told by their customer service department that no one can speak directly with the billing department and that everything is done through a ticketing system.
